Martin gained his composure and followed them "Hey, this is against the law. I'm calling the president" he threatened them but the police officers couldn't care less about his threats and they proceeded inside the mansion with only one goal and that is to find out what happened.
"We got a call from someone who was here yesterday and they said they found a body"
"A body?" Martin was shocked.
"They saw it"
"Who's they?"
"The pronouns are muted. They would rather be anonymous, so do you have something to say bodyguard?"
"I don't even know your names, what kind of police officers are you? Storming into people's homes without identification" said Martin and he was having a point, hence the officers stopped and looked back at him.
The more Martin was delaying the police officers, the more Marcus was sweating out just to make himself relevant when they arrive. He needed to actually have that sweat inorder to convince them that he was working out - and at this time the treadmill did the trick. After checking their IDs, Martin allowed the officers inside the house and they kept on searching.
When they reached the upper part of the mansion where there was a gym, a balcony and few plastic flowers that's where they saw Marcus working out and he acted as if he wasn't aware of what was going.
Marcus stopped running, he lifted up his towel and walked to the officers. He shook their hands charmingly while wiping the sweat off his body "How you doin' officer?" he said and didn't seem shocked at all.
"Are we in trouble Martin?" asked Marcus.
"We may be sir, the officers here say we may have a dead body in our house"
Marcus's eyes widened with amazement "A body?" he pretended not to know. Then he grabbed his attention to the officers "I can assure you officers there is no body here, we had multiple of them last night but now everyone is gone. We all good..."
"We still have to search every inch of this place"
"Please, don't let me stop you" he said and moved to the side.
When the police officers were moving on to other parts of the mansion, now it was more of them adoring the place rather than actually conducting a search. The garage was unrecognizable and they passed right through it without going inside, every room was searched but they didn't find anything - even Marcus's room looked so clean and neat as if nothing happened earlier.
Later that day Marcus returned back to his usual ground, to the house in the forest as Martin hired a special team to help him get rid of Shandla's body and clean the whole house, Shandla was tossed into the deep part of the sea where Martin was sure no one will find her. It was a long day, and hard one for Marcus too as he tried to process his feelings towards what happened.
Someone framed him for murder, it was a first time he was nearly caught by police and yet he knew he had to do something about it. Diana called and when he picked up the phone, it was all her trying to explain to Marcus how she was having a hard time getting by their arguments and break. "I can't do this Marcus, I need you" she cried.
"Are you sure Diana. I want you, all of you, not half of what you are but all of you and you need to be able to surrender yourself to me. It's all or nothing, it's either you are mine or you are not" said Marcus then he sighed and listened to what will Diana say.
"Are you at your usual spot?"
"Yeah"
"I'm coming over" Diana hang up the phone, walked to her bedroom and changed then she went outside and drove to Marcus - somehow they had to address the elephant in the room and once that was cleared everything resumed to normal or she hoped they would.
Demi returned back to the states a week later and all she wanted to do was see Diana, yet she met Jared first who was waiting for her at the airport.
Jared kissed Demi on her cheeks and took her bags "Oh darling... I would say you look gorgeous but it may seem like Africa have no idea about what sunscreen is. Your skin is wack! You need to see my dermatologist, she's an angel"
"Wow Jared! Nice seeing you too" said Demi and she didn't look so pleased with Jared's opinion regarding her skin.
"Oh come on now, don't give me that look girl"
"Give you what?"
"That side eye... It's always the truth hurts doesn't?" Would you rather I lie?"
Demi couldn't stop herself from looking around the airport "Where's Diana?" she asked.
"Fucking Mr billionaire I'm sure. She's been MIA, doesn't text like we used to, and she's always busy with something so I stopped hanging out with her"
"That's not like her, we should get our girl back"
Demi led the way to Jared's car and they stormed out of the airport. That same very day Demi called Diana and she was suspicious of what was going on with her, although Diana kept saying that she was fine and she had too much to deal with - there was no way she could stop Demi especially when she was on a mission.
So one particular morning when they were in Greece, Diana told Marcus "Demi wants to see me, she's inconsistent about it"
"Who's Demi again?" asked Marcus. He was shirtless on a yacht overlooking the beautiful Santorini with dark shades on his eyes.
"My best friend"
"The gay one?"
"No, my other friend, the girlfriend"
"Oh! The event organizer... didn't you tell me she was in Africa?"
"She was, but she just got back and I kind lied that I was still in New York"
Marcus stared at Diana with his judgey eyes.
"You lied to her? You are a grown ass woman Diana, you have a choice to be anywhere you want and with whoever you want. Why do you let your friends control you?"
"It's not control Marcus, it's called respect"
Marcus sighed "Whatever... hand me the sunscreen I feel like I'm burning up" he said to Diana.
Diana took the sunscreen and gave it to Marcus, instead of having him applying it by himself, she helped him and their eyes ignited in flames of pure passion and lust. One minute they were locking eyes and the next Marcus was inside Diana wrapped in white sheets inside a five thousand dollars presidential suite a night. The only sound that came from their suite was that of Diana moaning and urging Marcus to keep going, her phone rang more than five times and she ignored it - only Marcus mattered during that time.
Later on Marcus and Diana were sitting on a restaurant with bunch of tourists and locals surveying Santorini. Marcus wore black shorts and a white shirt with no buttons since he wanted everyone to catch a glimpse of his abs and his impressive physique. Diana was in blue short jeans, a red t-shirt with black snickers - her hair fell effortlessly behind her back and she was the hottest woman in the bar. From time to time men would wink at her, sending some creepy messages with their stares but she ignored them and couldn't care less what they wanted from her.
"Holy shit! Shandla James is dead?" A man sitting at the bar lounge said, then he passed on his phone to other people in the restaurant.
Diana and Marcus were sitting just close to the man, however Marcus didn't pay attention to whatever was going on and he seemed to be so taken by the conversation he was having with a local waitress.
"Marcus... Marcus" Diana called out to him.
"Yes honey"
"Do you hear this? About Shandla James?"
Marcus dismissed the waitress and paid attention to Diana. "Shandla James? You mean the lead in my hit show?" he asked.
"Yes, they are saying she's dead, possibly drowned in the ocean"
"What?"
Marcus looked at the man who started the topic, and right there he thought out loud. "Fuck! Fuck! Martin..." Marcus wished he could scream at Martin and his inability to bury the dead and keeping it all discreet. This wasn't the first kill, the first was Linda which and she was found buried just near his house. Then now it was Shandla, even know he didn't kill her yet Marcus still wanted all that to remain a mystery to everyone and the dead must stay dead.
When his face expression changed, Diana checked on him "Are you alright?" she asked.
Marcus hoped to his feet quickly, he looked around as if wanting to see something but even he didn't even know what he was looking for. "We have to go back to New York, I'll call my pilot to come pick us up" he said and walked away leaving Diana. Diana stayed at the restaurant for no less than five minutes thinking why would Marcus leave her there, but then she stood up and followed him.
