Funny Feelings

The sense of familiarity pervades every part of me, as I fail to tear my sight away from him. Each stride he makes clangs against the floor, echoing through the back of my head and taking my breath away.

He's someone I've known through all the books that I've devoured hundreds of times and he sprang out perfectly and majestic—a luxurious and powerful sensation enveloped him—saving the damsel in distress, like I am tonight. I had no idea that the pride I made sacrifices would eventually come back to haunt me and repay me with good prize.

He rapidly closes the distance that had formed between us, causing me fixed solely on his chest and his lean jaw, which made my gut churn. Perhaps because I felt plagued with guilt, knowing full well that I had already set my mind for a man who had never seen me as a woman.

Tonight, turns to be an evening so full of madness that it works best on me.

"Ely! Is that you?" a voice called out to me, possibly louder than the music. I glanced around, utterly forgotten—driven by the overpowering familiarity I felt with this man, whom his friends call Harris.

Regrets and tension flowed across my mind the moment that my gaze turned to the person who called out my name. "Shit!" I cursed, my beating heart almost leaping out of my chest.

I cast my final glimpse towards Harris, but the hazy lighting prevents me from getting a better look at his visage. My palm rests against his biceps, as my touch causes his muscle to stiffen. "Thank you for helping me, I would love to repay you but unfortunately I have to leave," I kept my eyes fixed on his biceps; for the nth time I almost forgotten my circumstances.

It is time to leave the dance floor in order to search for my companion and make an escape who is temporarily out of sight. Haiden has his palm squeezed on mine the instant I passed by him, "What are you doing?" I watch my nails pierce his flesh as he held my hand practically at the base of my fingers.

"...Why are you by yourse--" Julius intruded as he caught me before I could flee, shattering the tense force building between him and I. "Elenor! What the hell do you think you're doing wearing that little garment, are you out of your mind?" he raged at me, hurling his question without expecting a response. "Moreover, who the hell is this dude?"

If he continues to address me by my real name, this will pose a serious problem for me. "Wh-who are you? Also, you don't have any rights to tell me what to wear!" I forcefully attempt to modify my voice in order to sound less like the young miss of Eaves.

"I'm sorry, mister, however you seem to have mistaken me for someone else." I turn my head toward Haiden, and before I realized it, my subconscious had made the decision what to do "Ba-babe, do you know this man? Mm?"

I rushed over to his shoulder and began clinging to him. "...What are you doing?" he asks, bending his head and not least attempting to be on board with my idea. At this point, I remember how he behaved toward that woman who practically knows him well.

Shit. What should I do now? Should I try to make a run for it? However, that could make me seem pathetic, and I'm not exactly a quick runner to begin with.

"Enough is enough Ely. You are leaving with me," Julius began to drag me out, tugging me forcefully and that causes pain on my wrist. For God know why Haiden intervened before Julius could drag me any farther— for the nth time he helped me again.

"Get your filthy hands away from her," he declared, his tone growing more profound and manlier. His unexpected cooperation to my scheme astounded me and his mates, "I said hands away of my woman."

Despite starting this deed, him claiming me as his woman had my intestines feel funny yet again. Very different with how I feel about Sebastian; I don't feel pleased with whatever this is.

Julius' demeanor was tinged with surprise. Growing up with Ashtrid brought Julius into my life. He became the big brother for both lonely girls, both of whose mothers died shortly after they were babies.

Haiden grabs my waist as he pulls me back to him—pulls me closer to his chest.

"Ely, come with me if you do not wish to have your father hear about this," Julius threatens me, nevertheless my heart is brimming with enmity for Matthew, therefore nothing he says about him makes me afraid of lying.

"...First you accuse me of being someone else and even tried to drag me out, and now you're bringing up my deceased father? Stop disrespecting me!" I fake my grieving in in front of many people.

Everyone's attention was drawn to Julius; after all, I've made myself loud enough to be heard.

He's definitely lost patience with me by now, given as everyone's focus is on him. However, with a mask covering his face, he could freely vent his rage.

"Quit acting like your father is dead because he isn't, and where the hell is Ashtrid?!?" His screams echoed louder than the music, leading to it to halt. And finally remembered his little sister, "Fuck off. Don't you ever raise your voice on her" Haiden grabbed him by the collar and choking him, before he continues, "You better leave now before something bad happens to you."

No one had ever dared to threaten Julius in his twenty-five years of existence, "Are you threatening m--"suddenly an arms tackle him from behind, anchoring him away from us "We're terribly sorry about that. My friend seems to be quite drunk" This time Abel came; he is Julius's only friend who I have ever seen around him—Stopping his chances of tarnishing his public image.

"Let me to go, Abel; my sister is here, and we have to bring her home."

"If you intend to do that, you should stop messing around with strangers."

"Elenor is not a stranger; that woman is that troublemaker, and I have to bring her home with me too"

"Oh, is that so? I don't think you're any different from either of them. Listen Julius, as soon as you make one wrong move, they'll recognize who you are. Let's leave for now, their eyes are fixed on you."

Fortunately, Abel persuaded him to depart before wreaking havoc; hence, I must find Ashtrid before they return.

Julius gradually relaxed as he signaled Abel to let go of him. He walks out on his own, stumping his feet on the floor like a toddler.
