CHAPTER 17: Reunited Or Not?

"Techno Empire is a group of companies that focus on creating and promoting advanced technologies. Mr. Ashir Adriano is the major shareholder who owns seventy percent of the shares. But that's not the only business he has. He's also involved in shady business with the group he was in before, the Bastardos. If in case, he will not be the major shareholder of the company, he still has his last resort by auctioning the blood diamond. It was one of the reasons why Mrs. Adriano wants to leave because their life was not at peace because of threats. But that's not the case, she's been kidnapped by an unknown terrorist group. After all these years she has nowhere to be found. Mr. Ashir did his best to gather information about his wife but was all in vain."

The sun has risen to the east. The sky is always blue, like the ocean's hue. Scents of fresh flowers from the mansion's garden filled the room. I slowly opened my eyes and groped Mat on the bed side but his not there. I went outside the balcony and I saw Mat with our friends preparing to leave the mansion. I rushed in to say goodbye to them before they left.

" I didn't know you had to leave early guys."

" Sorry babe, I didn't wake you up cuz' you're sleeping soundly." Mat uttered

" It's okay babe, I just wanna see our friends before they leave."

"The young master of the car is ready." The driver said.

" Mat, we'll go ahead man." Ark uttered as he tapped Mat's shoulder.

"Okay, you take care guys." Mat replied

After they left, we went back inside the mansion and we noticed that Vinz and Mr. Ashir was having a serious conversation.

" Dad is everything alright?" Mat interrupted their conversation.

" I've got a call from our company, they told me that one of our branches was on fire." He replied

" What!? how!?" Mat curiously asked

" I don't know son, our guards failed to catch that f*cking arsonist!" He exclaimed

" I let Vinz interrogate Emily but told him that, arson attacks and bomb threats won't stop until we'll hand her to Bradley."

"Maybe she's just bluffing dad." Mat replied

"Trust me, She's not." Vinz uttered

" But what about the employees? Are they okay?" I worriedly asked?

Mr. Ashir shook his head feeling sad at the same time he's getting furious about what they've done.

"Eight were injured and two were dead. They weren't able to get out of the building in time." Vinz replied

"These bastards! Dad! why don't you hire an assassin to kill that bastard Bradley!?" Mat exclaimed in a furious tone.

"It's not that simple. He also had his ways. Bradley's troupes are well-trained secret agents. They're good at manipulating and fighting. Just like Emily did to you, Mike, she just used you." He sighed.

"But, she's my friend." I sadly uttered

" No, she's an enemy now, I thought I was helping her since her father died, but she's making a lot of schemes behind my back." Mr. Ashir uttered feeling dismayed.

"Vinz why did you help us and my dad? You know you're going against your father right?" Mat asked curiously.

" He's not my father, Merick and I, we're just orphans. He took us from the orphanage so he could use us on his hideous plans. I was hurt when I saw him force my brother to take drugs which made him a psychopath." He replied while feeling sad.

" What!? So what Emily told me was all lies!?" My dad furiously asked.

" Yes boss, you're right." He replied

"This b*tch now what she's doing." He uttered furiously.

"Vinz, I'm sorry about your brother Merick." I uttered gently as I gave myself a gently tapped on his shoulder.

" It's not your fault Mike, I should be the one who will apologize about what he did to you." He replied.

" It was all Bradley's fault. Our life might not be this complicated if he never adopted us." He sighed.

While having our conversation, Mr. Ashir requested a glass of bourbon from their maid.

" Belinda! get a glass of bourbon please, someone might need it." He uttered teasingly.

" So what are your plans now?" Mat asked

" I'm still going to work for your dad Mat until this is all done." He replied

" Are you not going to find real parents after this?" I asked

"Maybe I will but not now. I don't want them to get involved with this." He replied with worries in his eyes.

While having our conversation suddenly, someone was calling me on my phone. I checked it out of who's the one calling and it was my mom.

" Hello, mom?"

" Hello Mike, How are you!? Are you okay!? Are your friends okay!?where did they take you!?" She panicked

" Mom! Chill, I'm okay and wait how did you know it was in trouble.?" I asked

" Your dad called, he told me that you're hurt." She replied.

" Mom! Stop being over dramatic, I'm perfectly fine, I swear." I uttered with confidence.

" So how about your pretentious b*tch friend Emily?" She asked in a serious tone.

" She's being a guard mom, underneath Mr. Ashir's Mansion." I replied

" Oh that's good! Don't you ever get friends with her, okay!?" She asked.

" Okay mom, thank you for your concern." I replied.

" Okay, then I'll hang up now. You take care okay?"

After she called, I noticed that white limo car was parked in front of Mr. Ashir's mansion.

The guard informed Mr. Ashir right away. As what I've overheard, the guard mentioned that someone was looking for him.

" Someone wants to see me." Mr. Ashir uttered.

" We're coming with you dad." Mat replied as we follow Mr. Ashir in front of the mansion.

Mr. Ashir was curiously looking from a distance at the white limo car while Mat and I were standing right next to him

" Tell me, this is not a killer right!?" He asked the guard teasingly.

The driver of a white limo car opened the door while the guards were standing in front of us. The place was filled with silence for that moment when someone came out of the car.

Mr. Ashir and Mat couldn't believe what they saw in front of them.

"Kate?"

"Mom?"
