CHAPTER 04: Bastardos

"I was part of the group founded by our leader Bradley in 1992," Dad uttered.

"But how? I don't understand. He never mentioned you to me," Mat replied in confusion.

"Bastardos were grouped into three sections. The first section is called " The Brain." Those who are smart enough are helping your dad to create advanced weapons and technologies." He uttered

"Then what are the other two!?" Mat exclaimed with curiosity. 

The second section is called "The Raiders." These are the troupes who have the skills in fighting and raiding. Bradley is the leader. Dad replied.

" And Lastly, "The Eyes." This section is where I belong. We gathered information for our next target and trained ourselves in combat just in case our cover would be compromised. " He sighed.

" So you are one of the leaders?" Mat asked.

"Yes, but Bradley is our main leader" Dad replied.

But our group came into chaos when your dad stole a large number of shares that we had gathered. He uttered.

" So this is all dad's fault." Max exclaimed.

" I cannot blame your dad for that. Our leader, Bradley, was so greedy. That's why your dad made him do that." He replied.

"Bradley's gang was still roaming around the city and wanted to destroy my dad's legacy." Mat uttered.

"Yes, I know that." Dad replied.

Mat was very surprised about the revelations he had witnessed about my dad and his dad's involvement in the group.

"That's why your dad called me and asked me to help him out and end Bradley's greed." Dad exclaimed

" So after all these years, do you still have contact?" Mat asked.

"Yes, we still contact each other." He replied.

"But I'm just curious where you've been and what you've been doing after all these years." Mat asked curiously.

" The truth is, Bradley set me up because bastardos were about to elect a new main leader.But Then he set us up on our last mission in South Africa. Our mission is to steal the red diamond or what we call the blood diamond that is worth a billion dollars. It was owned by a high class terrorist group. But our group are experts, that's why he was so eager to own it. " He replied.

" But how did he set you up?" Mat asked.

" After we discussed our last mission, I disguised myself to be a high class business man. My mission is to spy on a high-profile business man named Zhakir Balantar. But he's the leader of the terrorist group and he owns a company that collects rare precious stones." He replied.

"Let me guess you were cornered and blew your cover," Mat uttered.

"Yes, you are right, that's why I have to leave and that's the time I went to Paris to find another job. But then your dad told me that someone was planning to hunt me so I stayed there for a long time." Dad replied.

" So, did Mrs. Davis knows about this?" Mat asked.

"No, she doesn't know yet. I just don't want to put their lives in danger so I left, but I'm planning to tell her the truth." He replied.

"I understand, Mr. Davis; you just don't want to put their lives in danger." Mat uttered

My dad had just finished talking when he heard his name being called by my mom. He rushed into their room and started caressing each other.

I opened my eyes and it was already morning. The birds were chirping, and the sun warmed my skin. I turned around to see Mat, but he wasn't in my bed anymore. I looked around to see if he was there, but I couldn't seem to find him. I went downstairs and saw mom and dad at the dining table. They smiled at me and called me for breakfast.

"Honey come let's have some breakfast." Mom uttered.

"Have you seen Mat?" I asked.

"Yes honey, he went home early." Mom replied.

"He said he had some business to attend to." Dad uttered

"A business to attend?" I exclaimed

" That's what he said." Mom replied.

" After what happened." I mumbled.

" I'm sorry, what was that, dear?" Mom asked.

I smiled awkwardly and sat down to have breakfast with them. Then I finished my breakfast as fast as I could.

" Slow down, son. Why are you in a hurry?" Dad asked

" I need to talk to Mat." "Okay, I'll be leaving bye." I replied hurriedly and left the house.

I've been calling Mat but he's not answering my phone calls. I went to school to look for him, but I couldn't find him there. I called Ark and Nate, but they told me they hadn't seen him lately. I was wondering if Mat truly cares about me, and I'd like to clear things up. I tried calling him again and he was still not answering my calls. I was furious at that moment because it seemed that I was not important to him.

But then I remembered that maybe he's at his condo, so I decided to go there. I was on my way to his condo when I noticed two men in black suits were following me. Deep inside, I was nervous and panicked, but I tried to remain calm. I noticed that they were about to catch me, but I ran as fast as I could. But still, I'm still a little bit ahead of them. Just four meters apart, they could catch me. I don't know where I was at that moment. I hid at the back of a garbage bin as I mumbled in fear. They were searching for me in the narrow street with a gun in their hands. I move slowly to glance at them, but I can't seem to find them. As I looked at my back, a gun pointed at me.

"Don't run or we will shoot you." One of the guys uttered

I raised both my hands as I am trembling in fear.

"Please... don't hurt me." I uttered.

"Sorry what was that!" The other guy uttered and started laughing at me like an asshole.

"Don't worry mate, we're not going to hurt you. "We'll simply take you to our boss." "The guy uttered in his British accent."

I punched the other guy's face, but he was so strong. They punched my face and stomach as my lips bled because of the impact. One of the guys bound my arms and then pushed me on the ground as they pointed their guns at my head.

"You fool, don't let me lose my patience!" The other guys exclaimed.

As I was about to run, the guy shot me in the arm. Then I heard another two gunshots. I looked back, and then I saw them dead on the ground. They were shot by a man wearing a black leather jacket and a black hooded mask.

I wanted to run but I lost a lot of blood. Then my sight got blurred and I fainted.

When I awoke, I was in a room where everything looked so expensive, including the chandelier and high-quality curtains, that I assumed I was in a mansion. My right arm was still throbbing, but the bullet was already removed.

"Ah, so you're awake!" said the guy wearing a black leather jacket, drinking a glass of bourbon while looking outside the window.

Then he turned to face me. I was completely taken aback.

"Dad!" I exclaimed angrily, my mind racing with questions.

"What's going on!?" I exclaimed confusingly.

"Calm down, son," he replied.

"Calm down!? How am I going to calm down when I was being chased by those assholes and they wanted to kill me? " "I uttered furiously."

Then I realized that the guy wearing a black leather jacket was him.

"Wait! You're the one who shot them, right!? I asked as I shed tears.

"If I hadn't you'll be dead!" He exclaimed

" I am glad I was able to track you in time." He uttered

" Track me!? Why? Who are you? Are you really my father? " I asked furiously.

"Yes, I am your dad." It's just that I haven't told you everything, "he replied.

" So everything you said at home about you was all a lie!" I exclaimed

" No, son, it's all true that I've been in Paris, but what I haven't told you is that I've been part of a secret organization since you were little." He replied.

He explained everything to me, and that he was part of a group called "Bastardos". He told me everything I needed to know. After that, I calmed myself down because I understood his situation before, that he needed to leave because he was set up by Bradley. But I was concerned about Mom. How am I able to explain everything to her?

In a few minutes, silence filled the room. Then we heard a knock on the door. Dad opened the door, and I saw Mat enter the room. I glare at him. But my eyes were getting teary. My emotions were all over the place. Dad went outside, so both of us had the time to talk.

"I don't want to see your face!" "I uttered furiously."

"Mike, let me explain first," he replied.

"Explain what!?" I asked furiously.

"Leaving me after we have sex!" I exclaimed

"Do you know what happened while I was looking for you!? I thought you were going to protect me." I uttered as I shed tears.

He rushed into the bed and hugged me tightly. I felt the warmth of his body. Every time he hugged me, I always calmed myself down.

"I'm sorry, I was not there to protect you. I went home to confirm something with my dad." He explained.

"Yes, Dad already explained everything to me." I uttered

" Dad said that they were preparing just in case Bradley's gang will hurt someone they care about, and that includes me and you." He sighed.

" But how? why are we so important to them" I asked.

"According to my dad's spy, they will kidnap either one of us in exchange for both of our father's wealth." He replied.

Mat explained everything to me and why he did not contact me. He didn't want to put my life in danger, but he informed my dad that if I ever left the house, he should track me, and that's what he did.

"Actually, Mat, you don't have to apologize because we're not dating; we just had a one-night stand."I uttered.

" But Mike I like you." He uttered with a sweet calm tone.

He slowly touched me on the chin and kissed me on the lips.

"Mike I want to be with you." He uttered sincerely.

"So what am I to you?" I asked sadly

He smiled sweetly at me and replied, "You're my lover."
