Audrey lay beside the river, looking up at the sky. The moon was almost full and it was the brightest she'd ever seen it glow.
"How about going for a swim?" The statue spoke to her.
"Nah, I'll pass. I'll just lay here till everything is over," Audrey sighed and put a hand behind her head for support.
"Whenever you're ready, Audrey," The statue replied.
Audrey sensed a foreboding in the statue's voice but she ignored it, it was her way of talking anyway, always sounding mysterious.
Audrey had just closed her eyes when she heard Avery's voice inside her head.
'We need to find him!' Avery said desperately.
Audrey immediately jolted up and sat up from the ground.
"Avery, no, we're not finding anyone tonight," Audrey said vehemently.
She thought she had Avery under control, how did she get past her mind's threshold?
