A story of a wizard using his wisdom and power to ascend to the pinnacle of the world, who will do anything to protect his new family. This is a little slow paced and also somewhat slice of life story so keep that in mind, that focuses more on Alaric's relationship. There will be heavy changes to the original plot so be aware and also MC becomes overpowered rather quickly as the story moves forward and he won't hesitate to take some drastic measures if necessary, so he won't have a moral compass. Chapter 350: The Final Diadem

After Helena's oath of loyalty, a long silence followed.

Neither spoke.

Alaric felt a bit embarrassed, not sure what to say—though it was only a slight embarrassment.

If given another chance, he would still have done the same thing.

As for Helena?

After a while, she finally spoke up.

Her tone was hesitant and clearly lacking in confidence.

"Um… Alaric… no, Master… why aren't you speaking? Is it because you're angry with me for taking such initiative?"

Hearing Helena's nervous, almost tearful voice, Alaric could no longer keep his composure.

He sighed.

"Do you think I should be angry?"

"Um, yes…" Helena's voice grew even softer, but Alaric quickly interrupted her.

"Why go this far?" Alaric asked with a complex and stiff tone.

"Why give up your freedom to complete this blood oath?

I merely helped you out. This is just a mutual help between friends; you didn't need to go this far."

"No! It's necessary!" Helena's tone grew more passionate.

"It's not just about gratitude; it's for my mother!"

Alaric remained silent, waiting for her to continue.

Helena paused and then said, "I hope you can inherit my mother's will, even if it's just a bit."

"So you made this decision?"

"Yes. Back then, I revealed the information about the Diadem to Tom Riddle for the same reason, but it turned out I misjudged him.

He was not someone who could carry on Ravenclaw's spirit. He was a true Slytherin—no, he was even more selfish and evil than Slytherin himself.

I remember, while Slytherin valued pure blood, he was a truly great and selfless person who genuinely considered the interests of pure-blood wizards.

But Tom…"

"He only thinks of himself," Alaric added.

"Exactly."

"And Dumbledore? His wisdom should be enough, right?"

"Dumbledore is the exact opposite of Tom," Helena said softly.

"He is a true Gryffindor, always thinking of love and courage.

Wisdom is just a tool for him to achieve his goals. He is simply not suited for Ravenclaw."

"So…"

"So I have been waiting. But year after year, Hogwarts has never had a truly outstanding Ravenclaw.

Tom from Slytherin and Dumbledore from Gryffindor seem to be the most powerful people of this era until I met you.

You are smart enough, excellent enough, and far surpassing those two in your youth.

Even at your age, you can already be compared with them.

Most importantly, you are different from them."

Helena's tone grew more passionate.

"Tom is too evil, and Dumbledore is too righteous, but you? You understand that justice and evil are not the most important things.

The distinction between justice and evil is not as great as imagined. Wisdom and power are the fundamentals."

Alaric nodded slowly as he listened.

Encouraged by Alaric's nod, Helena continued more quickly.

"In the past few years, I have always regretted why I made my decision too early, why I couldn't think a bit longer…

Perhaps I wouldn't have made the mistake of entrusting the Diadem to the wrong person.

And you… fortunately, you retrieved the Diadem and found a way to restore it.

Otherwise, I really wouldn't know how to explain it to my mother…

I was already quite headstrong in life, and now, even after death, I feel even more guilty toward her…"

Though Alaric couldn't see Helena's face, he could tell from her voice that she had spoken these words with tears in her eyes.

After a long pause, she continued.

"So now, I have the chance to make amends.

I am giving the Diadem of Ravenclaw into your hands, and myself as well.

You are my greatest benefactor, my best friend, and the most suitable heir to Ravenclaw. I am willing to do this! I know you are an unparalleled wizard.

Your future achievements will certainly surpass my mother's and might even rival Merlin's.

So I do not expect you to take up the mantle of Ravenclaw's heir.

No one deserves such a great heir as you… I only hope that through you, I can prove that among the four founders, only my mother was the most brilliant and that her views were the most correct."

Listening to Helena's words, Alaric was deeply moved.

Helena, the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw, truly lived up to her heritage.

In the past, he had thought of her as merely a pampered young lady.

But now, he realized that beneath her pride lay a strong sense of responsibility and judgment.

He regarded her with newfound respect.

After a moment of silence, Alaric solemnly said to Helena.

"Don't worry. Since you've chosen me, I will not disappoint you.

As a wizard, I will strive to reach the ultimate wisdom."

His words did not receive a direct response from Helena.

However, through their connection, he could sense Helena's expression of relief and joy.

"So, are you ready?" Alaric asked Helena.

"I am ready at any time," Helena's tone was resolute. "Use me, Master."

"I'm not quite used to this title," Alaric shook his head with a smile.

"Then I'll try the Diadem's effects."

"Feel free to wear me."

Alaric carefully lifted the Diadem and placed it on his head.

This was the first time he wore this magical item.

Since the Diadem's creator was Ravenclaw, it was designed for women, making it much lighter than a standard crown.

Alaric himself was not particularly robust.

Considering his experiences and time in the world of Game of Thrones, he was only seventeen or eighteen years old, and the dragon's essence had significantly slowed his physical aging.

Thus, the Diadem fit him with only a slight snugness.

Initially, Alaric felt the cold and weight of the metal.

Then, in the next moment, he felt his mind connect with the Diadem.

Suddenly, an unprecedented and wonderful sensation arose within him.

Alaric felt that the Diadem of Ravenclaw was indeed deserving of its reputation for wisdom.
