The Black Library! (Part-2)

Blaise's POV

{27th June 1993}

{12 Grimmauld Place, London, Unplottable}

{10:25 PM}

I stepped out of the fire into a well-lit living room. I have actually not been to Grimmauld place before, most of his time with Sirius, Blaise spent in the Potter manor and didn't have any reason to visit the Black family home.

'Why did Sirius even remodel this place? From the books and the memories, I remember he hated his family... so why come back to his old home? Wait so is the Horcrux still here?'

"Hey, Sirius? You had a house-elf right, Kreacher?" I asked while looking at the room carefully, comparing it to the room from the movies. The atmosphere was far lighter than the gloomy vibe from the movies.

"Kreacher? how do you know about him?" Sirius asked confused as he dusted the ashes out of his shirt.

"Of Harry mentioned that you had this crazy elf-"

"Yeah, that was one crazy fu-" he stopped himself from cursing as he saw Alexandra enter to check who came home.

"Hey, Alex!" I smiled which she returned but she seemed a little hesitant. Alexandra Black stood proudly at 5'5" a little taller than normal girls her age, she had dark eyes that were analyzing everything. Her dark hair was braided in a ponytail that bobbed up and down in sharp contrast to her serious visage. I tried not to look at her developing figure as I looked at her up and down while Sirius interrupted.

"-what are you doing up so late?" Sirius asked.

"I was just studying in the Library-" her voice sounded challenging and I noticed the frown on Sirius's face before he sighed and said, "-alright my little genius, enough study for today, go back to study now and tomorrow you can ask all your questions to Blaise here." he smiled and Alexandra hesitated before giving a stiff nod and walking away.

"She's changed-" I replied unconsciously and upon noticing Sirius's glare I hurriedly replied, "No I'm not talking about that with you, you sick fuck, but she's different a little colder, is something going on?" I asked Sirius.

He sighed and sat down on the chair that was opposite the fireplace, "Yeah, I don't know what happened, I know she wasn't the most cheerful person you know, but she was happy and Marlene was happy then somehow she gradually stopped talked to us during the last month as she started going into the library after getting her wand and started practicing spells." He stood up and started walking back and forth in front of the fireplace.

"-then just a few days ago I found her reading books on dark rituals and we had a really nasty fight when I said I would purge the library of anything dark and you saw it just now didn't you-" he looked at me trying to express something but I just couldn't get it so I tried to reassure him, "It's alright Siri, I'll talk to her and get her out of this mess okay, she's just rebelling you know she'll calm down and you know she loves you..." I was about to continue when an unexpected window popped out.

'This hasn't happened to Blaise before? why, why now after 5 years of him having the system did I receive the first quest? Does this mean there are more features that are currently locked?'

"-Laise? BLAISE!!!" Sirius exclaimed and I woke up from my daze and looked up at him.

"Sirius, what happened to Kreacher?" I asked anxiously, my thoughts drifting to one of the possible objects in this house that could influence someone's thoughts and moods.

"I freed him, he was crazy and I saw Alex talking to him while they were in the library about dark curses so I freed him and locked him out of the wards-" before he could continue I said, "Sirius, I think the problem is bigger than we think!" I stood and said urgently, "-quick where's Alex's room?" I asked as he walked past me and started leading the way.

We arrived on the 2nd floor and he pointed towards the last door in the Hallway. I stepped in front of the door with some quick strides and knocked, "Alex you there! I need to talk to you about something?" as I said this, thoughts and plans were running through my head.

'It should be the Horcrux, the Slytherin's Locket was able to influence Harry and Ron by increasing their negative emotions, but they were okay as soon as they lost contact, but what if its function was like the diary? Like by writing in the diary Ginny was willingly feeding it her life force, the locket works a little differently, what if by wearing it Alex is doing the same? She has been wearing the locket for I don't know how long but it should be at least a month! But Ginny was okay after even almost a year of drainage, but then that Tom Riddle was only 16 or 19 or something but this Horcrux was created much later so it could be more powerful, but it's just a piece of his soul, how does power even work for a soul-'

The door opened and Alex looked at me with a confused expression, "Hey Alex, the last time I was here I think I left my locket behind have you seen it, it is this big-" I cupped my hand carefully looking at her expression and she looked uncomfortable, "-has a big 'S' inlaid with green gems-" as soon as I noticed her expression shift before she started using Occlumency I flicked my hand towards her and concentrated.

'Petrificus Totalus'

Her whole body froze as she was unable to fight my curse as she started falling backward and I rushed to stop her from toppling over.

"What the fuck-" Sirius bellowed before I motioned him to follow me as I carefully pulled up her into my arms and carried her to her bed. It was slightly awkward as I tried to carry her as she was stiff as a board when another unfamiliar voice came, "Why are you shouting Siri,"

I ignored the new presence and asked, "Do either of you know the Homenum Revelio charm?" Sirius gave me a blank look but Marlene nodded and asked, "Why, what is going on, why is Alex petrified!" Her voice was getting louder as she took in the situation at hand before I waved at her and said, "Forget that till later, cast it on her now!" I said before walking away leaving her some space.

She still looked confused but her wand was now pointing at me, a threatening red light alight at the tip but Sirius intervened, "-Okay, calm down it's just a normal Petrificus, she's okay, no need to kill Blaise over it-" he tried to persuade her but I intervened, "-You need to cast that spell now, I don't know how to cast it, I have read about it but I don't want to mess this up!" seeing my urgent expression she faltered, seemingly debating whether to listen to me or not, she pulled her wand away before waving it in a complicated pattern as she said aloud, "Homenum Revelio."

Her expression immediately grew confused as she stared at her daughter, trying to think of some explanations but I acted immediately and rushed towards Alex, I moved her jacket away and felt a metal chain around her neck. I carefully pulled the locket but it was stuck, I looked down and noticed that the locket was lodged between her breasts.

'Okay, concentrate and not check out their daughter in front of her parents...'

"Lady Black, could you help me get this locket, it's stuck-" I finished lamely as she hurried over a disturbed expression on her face as she quickly extracted the locket.

I looked at the locket, with a big 'S' inlaid with several green gems as Marlene also stared at it.

"Here-" I took the locket from her carefully and placed it on the bed, as soon as I touched it I could feel the dark magic in it.

"-cast it again on the locket!" I exclaimed as she once again used the spell before her expression turned incredulous as she received a positive response from the locket.

"Depulso~" she bellowed as the Locket was smashed towards the nearby wall with a bang as she moved towards her daughter with concern.

"-What is that?" her expression confused and terrified as she looked at the locket that was lying on the floor, I pulled out my wand and used a simple 'Wingardium' to slowly levitate it and placed it on the table.

"-If it is what I think it is, then it's bad..." I aimed a finite towards Alexandra and asked Sirius, "Sirius do you have a calming draught?"

"Yeah there is one in my Potion's lab-" Marlene answered as she hugged Alex towards her who was looking longingly towards the locket.

'So it did cause an effect on her... but it did what? are they still connected? the locket shouldn't have an influence on her after it was removed from her.'

Sirius went to find the potion and I stood in front of her, "Alex look at me calm down, look at me, yeah, look here..." I finally got her attention, "-I know you know Occlumency, don't use it, listen to me carefully, that locket was influencing you, all the bad thoughts that suddenly appeared in your mind were that locket's doing, listen, here see your mom is right there, look she's upset for you, your parents love you, it will be okay-" my rant was interrupted as Sirius came back with the potion witch I passed to her and said, "Drink this and you'll feel calm, alright everything will be fine..." I watched as she looked hesitant before she drank the potion and her agitated state calmed down.

I could see that she was starting to process what is happening, which was a side-effect of the calming draught.

I took a breath of relief as the notification indicated that I managed to pass the quest, but the failure penalty was still hidden.

'Is this observe what I think it is?'

I quickly scrolled down on the skills tab and found Observe.

I immediately used Observe on Alex and another window appeared in front of me.

I looked at the screen carefully and upon noticing no further damage than her mana being drained I calmed down.

'Sigh, too much shit happened in one day, I need to go to bed before another calamity pops up...'

I looked at Sirius and Marlene's expressions as Alex slowly fell asleep in her mother's lap and sighed again.

'Now how do I lie my way out of this-'

AN: I have started scheduling chapter's so you would receive a new chapter every day at 00:00 CST when the site resets as every other story does.

This was a big chapter cause I didn't find a way to suitably end the chapter, anyway see ya tomorrow!
