HARMONY 1

Rebekah is just a normal human girl with a life changing past. Her experiences made her insecure until she met Seth and he showed her love beyond colour but before that, there was Jordan, your typical bad boy who is on a mission to "prove a point" but before this bad boy, was an innocent boy who just wanted to be treated the same. And his story is not over. In conclusion, the past plays an important role in our future. Author's note: Sometimes it's better to say than to regret not saying it. Life is all about taking risks, but always remember you can't force someone to love you, love is natural. If you love someone, tell them before it's too late, do not be afraid of rejection because if they don't feel the same way, then you know and you will move on than to be in love alone. And if you don't tell them they'll never know and you will have to watch them with someone else when you could've created something magical.

MY FRIENDS AND I

Rebekah's pov:

The next day I wake up at 8:30 and take a shower. I've been sleeping so peacefully lately, but as much I hated having those dreams now that I don't have them anymore, I feel like I'm alone, I feel like a part of me is no longer there. I'm starting to realize how lonely my life actually is. How can a dream cause all these feelings?

After taking a shower I get dressed in my white, floral dress, my grey Nike takkie ( I love Nike). I grab my phone, my orange saddlebag that matches the colour of the flower prints on my dress and head downstairs to the kitchen to make something to eat.

I grab a white bowl from the cupboard then place it on the counter. I take out some milk from the fridge and pour some milk into the bowl.

"Morning,"

I turn around to see my mom standing at the kitchen entrance in her silky, peach night gown. "Oh, morning mom," I grab the bowl and warm the milk in the microwave.

"Where are you going all dressed up?" she walks up to me.

"I'm going to see Sera and Micah," I answer

"Oh, I'll go drop you then, let me just get my shoes" she turns to walk

"No," I stop her and she turns. "This is your time to rest from all the hard work," I insist, "I'll take a taxi,"

"Are you sure?..."

"Yes, it's actually fun taking a taxi,"

"Okay…maybe you could ask Jordan to drop you," she suggest.

After what happened yesterday; I don't think he will want to.

"I...don't have his number," I excuse, "and he told me yesterday that he'd be busy today,"

"Just try, maybe he will agree," she insists. "I'll get you his number,"

"Fine," I unwillingly agree.

"Okay, I'll ask Luna to send me his number," she brings up her phone from her gown pocket and starts typing…

"Done," she says, "I told his mom you are looking for his number, and asked if she could send it," she explains

"You have got to be kidding me,"

"Grea...t," I say. It's really not so great.

Her phone beeps. She brings it up and notifies me, "I sent you his number, check," she puts down her phone and looks at me.

I scratch in my hand bag for my phone and take it out. I unlock it with my fingerprint and check my WhatsApp for messages.

"+1 614*******" I look at the number and save it, "Jordan"

"Did you ask him?" she eagerly inquires.

"I'm sending,"

Deep down I would have preferred asking Seth to come fetch me than Jordan but, I don't have his number.

Rebekah: hey...

Jordan: so what is it you needed my number for?

I roll my eyes, he must be feeling good with himself, as if I was that desperate to seek for his number.

"What's the matter," my mom worries

"Nothing,"

Rebekah: I don't need your number. Thank you

Jordan: I know you missed me ;)

Rebekah: I don't

Jordan: if you say so. So what do you want then?

Rebekah: Can you drop me at my friend's house? If you're not busy.

Jordan: is Seth busy?

Rebekah: if you don't want to come it's fine

Jordan: fine I'll come to fetch you

He puts a eye-rolling emoji.

I ignore his message and put the screen off.

"So…" she prods

"His coming," I inform

"You see… I told you to at least try,"

"Okay mom I get it"

I finished my breakfast and now I'm just waiting outside for Jordan while listening to some good pop music. I hope he actually comes. Thinking about Seth and yesterday, I smile to myself and happily sigh. I want him.

Two minutes later, I finally spot his car.

"Why does he always drive like someone is chasing him?"

The car slowly comes to a stop infront of me and the door automatically opens on the other side. I walk around and get in. I was hoping he'd drive off immediately but doesn't, or even start the car. He's just looking at me, so I look back.

"Why are you not driving?" I question.

"Can I have the location," he ignores me.

He is not the same playful, sarcastic, mischievous Jordan. Everything is just awkward. I feel so bad now that he's not talking to, even though I'm the one who almost fell into a lake yesterday. He looks rather silently upset, so I just keep quiet. I barely know what to say to him right now. I tell him the location and the whole journey is just silence and awkwardness until we arrive at Micah's place. He stops the car and I open the door.

"Thank you" I say before stepping out. take my bag.

"Sure," he says in a desolate voice. I step out and and I close the door, immediately he drives off.

I stand there watching his doped off. I sigh.

I make my way to Micah's door and knock.

"Who is it?" a woman shouts from the inside.

"It's Rebekah!" I respond and she comes to open.

"Oh, Rebekah you are here?" she makes way for me to enter.

"Morning Mrs. Anderson" I smile

"Come in," she invites, and I enter into the corridor and there's another corridor on my right Infront there's a staircase going up and on the left wall there's a wide uncovered entrance leading to the sitting room. The walls are grey, the tiles are shiny and wooden.

"Micah is in her room getting dressed," she notifies after closing the door

"Okay, thank you," I smile and head down the corridor to the right. On the walls are pictures of her aunt and her uncle. But not one of her. she didn't want her picture on the wall, at least that's what she told me. I knock on the white wooden door with a golden door handle.

"Come in," she says. I get in and spot her sitting at her dark brown wooden dressing table; combing her curly coily, dark brown hair.

"Hey,"

"We missed you yesterday," she says as she parts her hair in the middle and leaves it loose.

"Something weird happened yesterday," I sit down on the bed.

"Really? What?" she eagerly inquires

"I think I'm love," I confide

She hasps placing her right over her mouth looking excitedly shocked.

"I want to know everything," she hurries to sit bedside me on the bed end.

"Lets wait for Sera,"

"Oh man…just tell me first then you can tell her when she arrives," she proposes

"No, Micah," I chuckle

She giggles, "Okay-okay fine,"

As we are laying at the edge of the bed, talking about the lesson we had on Friday in abnormal psychology class and how it affects people's brains and causes disorders such as, obsessive-compulsive disorder. We hear a knock on door and as the door opens, we sit up. She finally made it, we welcome her with a smile.

"Hey guys," Sera greets us as she closes the door, and like always, she looks beautiful. She has on a stretchy, off shoulder, grey bodycon dress along with a pair of peep toe wedges. Her loose hair with waves topped with a chocker necklace and a black baguette bag.

"Look who finally made it," Micah says

"Oh come on, I tried. It's not easy looking for an outfit," she says

"Okay-Okay come on, sit down," Micah urges her

"Why are you in such a hurry?" she questions as she takes a sit on the bed, on my left.

"Where were you yesterday?" Sera asks

"Well…that's what I want to talk to you guys about," I say and Micah looks excited, while Sera looks lost and curious.

"Okay…" Sera says.

"Please don't get mad at me," I beg them

"We won't," Sera assures, "we're your friends,"

"It's better we give you advice instead of getting mad because that's what friends are for," Micah convinces me.

"Okay, here it goes. Jordan is…the guy that followed to school that day," I look at both of them and their faces just look blank for a minute. But not mad.

"Oh…and…how did yesterday happen?" Sera asks with curiosity.

"Jordan's mom works at the same place with my mom, our parents introduced us to each other like 4 days ago," I say

"oh, so you guys are like…not strangers to each other anymore?" Micah clarifies

"Yes, kind of," I uncertainly respond,"and…I actually ended up spending the day with another person instead," I blush, unable to hold back my smile.

"Oh my…" Sera grins with excitement, "tell me everything,"

"So there's this guy…"

***

"And then he dropped me home," I end of explaining to them.

"So, Jordan hit you?" Micah asks in shock

"Yeah," I confirm, "but I guess it was my fault for getting involved in the fight,"

"Still he is not supposed to," Sera says

"I know, but I'm sure he didn't mean to," I insist

"Yeah..."Sera expressionlessly smiles. "Maybe,"

And then, silence.

"So…what are we doing today?" I change the subject

"Oh, uhm...we could go to the beach or the amusement arcade," Micah suggests while Sera is still in thought.

"Sera…" Micah calls her out of her thoughts.

"Oh, sorry guys. What were you saying?"

"What do you think we should do today?"

"Oh, well…how about window shopping, or the amusement park," Sera suggests

"Okay," Micah acknowledges, "do you have any suggestions?" she asks me

"I thought we could go to the place we didn't go to yesterday,"

"The place is closed today," Sera says

"Yeah," Micah adds

"Oh, well I don't have anything in mind," I say

"So, what are we going to choose?" Sera asks

"I vote for amusement park," Micah comments

"I say amusement arcade" Sera comments. Now it is my turn. The all look at me, the tiebreaker.

"Uhm…" I think carefully, "I'll go with the amusement park"

"Okay then," Sera claps her hands, " it's decided,"

" let's get going," Micah gets up from the bed and picks up her phone and her moon shaped shoulder bag as we pick up ours.
