"Are you alright, Jane? You've been in an scarily good mood since you got home. You're smiling and humming and laughing by yourself. What's up with—," A girl called out to her from her position on their shared bed but almost choked and sat up when Jane showed her what she had gotten that day.
"WHAT?! WE CAN'T AFFORD THAT!" The lady wheezed at Jane. P Jane simply chuckled.
"I know, I know. There was this guy…" Jane said. She had a smile on her face, her face turning red as she recalled the encounter.
"A guy bought you all of that? You know he will expect you to put out, right?" Her roommate said, rolling her eyes.
"Don't be such a pervert, Ella! He has no such intention! He didn't even ask for my number or anything. I had to give it to him myself," Jane pointed out but Ella was shocked by this revelation.
"You made the first move?" Ella questioned with a raised brow. Contrasting with Jane's girl-next-door aesthetic, Ella had the typical Hot-Topic shopping goth look with a shock of pixie-cut red hair and a witchy-looking, all black pajama set, topped off with an ornate obsidian choker around her neck.
Ella had grey eyes and was by every means, a beautiful lady, with lush curves and a bust that currently threatened to rip through her tank top.
It was unusual for Jane to make the first move since she was a shy person so this took her by surprise.
"I know! I feel so awkward thinking about it! I don't even think he will call me…" Jane said but the excitement in her voice faded as she concluded this sentence.
"If he got you all of that, he will definitely call you but I am curious to see what kind of man made our Jane make the first move," Ella teased, trying to cheer up her friend.
Ella was not only taller than Jane but older by a year. She covered the majority of the rent while Jane helped with other bills that she could handle.
Ella didn't mind this because she knew that Jane's contribution wasn't based on her financial assistance, but her presence.
Jane was a pleasant person, emphathetic and helpful. She was a great roommate and friend to Ella and she made her life better just by being there.
"You cannot meet him! You will hypnotize him with that chest of yours!" Jane whined, prompting Ella to giggle.
"You know, not every man likes them this big.Yours are just fine," Ella responded. She couldn't help but worry, though, that this man might break her friend's heart.
There was no reason for him to buy her all of this but then again, he didn't attempt to even get her number, which certainly was interesting.
Ella was the lead singer for an upcoming rock band called, Splinters and she had a gig later that night. Ella truly believed she had what it took to be among the greats even though her numbers said otherwise.
"OH MY GOD!" Jane screamed, dropping her phone but thanks to Ella's position, she was able to snatch it out of the air before it hit the ground.
Jane hummed gratefully as she was yet to make the transition to her new phone and still needed the old one. Ella noticed that the number wasn't saved.
Without hesitation, she answered the phone.
"Hello…?" The person on the other end was male, to her surprise. Before Ella could respond, Jane snatched the phone out of her hand before running to a different compartment of the house.
"Such a drama queen," Ella said with a smile as she watched her friend close the door behind her.

Jane had managed to get away from her roommate but she had no idea what to say. She stared blankly at the phone.
"Is everything alright?" Kyle asked her, and Jane could feel her heart poundinglike it was going to jump out of her chest.
"I-I am fine… I didn't know you would call so soon…" Jane said, her voice almost a whisper.
"It was hard not to. What can I say? I am a sucker for girls that know what they want," Kyle gave a wry chuckle that sent Jane's pulse racing. She swallowed, unable to find her voice. Kyle laughed again, apparently finding her speechlessness amusing.
Easing out of the initial awkwardness, they spoke for a while about the circumstances of their first meeting before Kyle popped the million dollar question of the night.
"I was thinking, maybe you and I could get something to eat later.. Tonight, if you'd like?,"
A big smile on crept onto Jane's face.
"I would love to, Kyle," Jane said, slapping a hand over her forehead when she realized that Kyle had never actually told her his name. She had gotten it by asking the person who had swiped his card, it had showed his name on the pop-up.
"Hey, you know my name," Kyle laughed in surprise as Jane's face steadily reddened in embarrassment.
"Little miss stalker…" Kyle teased...and even though Jane was about to die of shame, she could barely contain her giggle.
"Text me your address and be ready by 7," Kyle instructed.
Jane made an affirmative sound as she hung up.
"Damn, girl... You've got it bad...," Ella said from behind the door.
"GO AWAY!" Jane shouted, her flushed cheeks a byproduct of her embarrassment. Jane shook her head. None of this mattered right now, she had a date to prepare for.
-
Kyle heaved a sigh of relief as Jane hung up. He didn't know women could act this way around him.
It wasn't something he was used to but it also wasn't something he disliked.
Kyle knew at that moment that he needed to go shopping. He didn't have any clothes he could wear to a date. He also had no idea what would be appropriate to wear or even the sort of restaurant they would go to.
Kyle knew it had to be expensive, it had to be very expensive so he could spend as much money on her as he could.
A cyan screen soon appeared as usual. Kyle wondered what this could be about.
[Update in affection bar!]
[Jane's affection: 15%]
Kyle was surprised it went up at all because all they did was have a little conversation over the phone, it couldn't be that easy, could it?
Either way, this worked to his advantage and he planned to milk the heck out of it as he headed to a store to get clothes for his date with Jane.
