Harbinger of Calamity

a Neet who has worked hard his entire life, who has experienced the vicissitudes of life, living much of his life in poverty, depression and drug addiction, at the end of his difficult road, dies of cancer at the age of 26. Having suffered his entire life trying to face the cruel reality of the world, always chasing higher pursuits and exploring ideas but his pursuit of truth only leads to his own collapse. In his last days instead of weeping, he laughs, he laughs at the absurdity of it all. It seemed as if fate had played the biggest joke on him, he had taken too seriously what had no value. What is life? a blink of an eye! as unreal as a dream, what a mysterious world, we are just born out of nowhere only to vanish later on. A profound sigh was uttered "If only I wasn't dealt such bad cards! I was made for the heights yet here I am crashed in the abyss of life."  Looking at the world he was soon to leave, he sighed "Humanity truly has fallen in this era, it has crashed from the heights of embodying divinity to succumbing to their animalistic selves becoming creatures of decadence, slaves to pleasure, lust and the lowly desires of the body. Truly my heart weeps for the tragedy of humanity, the industrial revolution, a slave society disguised as 'modern society', poisonous foods filled with chemicals, an entire network engineered to enslave minds called the internet, an absolute infestation of decadence and mediocrity in the very Human spirit that used to overpower all. All humanity is enslaved, what can't parents even teach? they are slaves themselves. Atleast in this life, I refused to be a slave, I was a free being, atleast in the later half of my life, I followed my own passions and lived my own life but in the end, sigh I failed! But oh well, who ever lived a perfect life in this world? as the darkness of death engulfs him, he fully accepts it and is gone. A pair of eye opened and an absolutely stunning sight appeared, he was transmigrated. For the first time in so long, he could see clearly without glasses or contacts, he could feel physically powerful instead of a sickly body and a destroyed pleasure system. He resolves that this time, this life, He would pursue his own freedom! He would never give up on himself and he will walk his own path to the very end. "That's right, I was wrong depending on sympathy. Cold, heartless, I won't forgive them, they can't be forgiven! That's right, it wasn't me who was wrong, it was the world that was wrong!" A descent towards Madness. A cruel world where no refuge can be found, countless obstacles obstructing one's path, mountains of corpses, an abyss of blood, a heart of darkness, a cruel fate to all living beings. No heart or soul, only an abyss of despair and a heart to ascend beyond. ... Mysterious encounter

The sky extends beyond the horizons.

The sun illuminates the world and the shimmering clouds.

In a particular corner of this world, a giant forest existed and thrived on its own.

This forest was filled with divine trees and all types of beings.

In a corner of this forest, a figure flashed, moving at high speed, jumping from branch to branch.

Nameless felt like he was an animal in his element.

His weird legs could grip the giant branches to stabilise while also allowing a stronger propulsion forward towards the next branch.

Nameless had been naked ever since he was nearly eaten by the black beast but he didn't seem to care. Purple lines that drew intricate symbols were present on his entire body except his face.

He moved forward jumping from branch to branch through and inbetween the leafs.

His weird tail was similar to stabilizer which with inertia and twists of his body helped him orient himself midair as to not miss any branch nor fall even if an accident were to happen.

Maneuvers that looked impossible to the naked eye were possible for him.

Nameless felt free again but he knew this was all an illusion, a flowery show meant to make him let his guard down, he had to survive at all costs this time, for failure meant certain death.

The only way to avoid death was to be vigilant and calm, being cautious and fully aware of the surrounding environment, that's why Nameless had already activated his sensory quills helping him sense the vibration in the air in case a beast or an element interfered with his escape.

Admist his escape, Nameless couldn't help but feel as if his body was native to the forest. It seemed as if his body was designed to navigate this type of environment.

"What specie is this body? are these humanoid creatures?"

"You are mostly right, your body is half human and half a mix of the Naaya and the Keiya humanoid species, the Naaya look humanoid like your current appearence but with blueish skin and more features while the Keiya specie has greenish skin."

"Why such a design?" he spoke.

"I cannot judge what the immortal fetus was supposed to be but in this form, it seemed the immortal fetus knew it was getting weaker and settled on getting multiple features of different species to mitigate the risks of staying in this forest and meeting enemies, some beasts have elvolved to have fear and avoid the Naaya and Keiya species."

"I see..."

"Do they also look alienoid too?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"Simply put, do they look weird and uncanny, having wildly different physiology than normal human beings."

"If you are referring to the unique features of this ecosystem then you are right. They are as you describe them."

A figure stood inside Nameless's sea of consciousness.

It was a purple and looked magical, she stood in front of his figure on top of the sea in his sea of consciousness.

He had figured out that he could talk to something in his mind as he was escaping but he focused on the escape first before asking questions, he didn't want the purpleish woman to change her mind and pursue him to kill him after all.

"You still haven't explained how come you're here? also how can I know you're not a threat to me, also what is this place?"

"I am what is called a will, I am made of the thoughts of my maker."

"Made of thoughts?"

"Allow me to explain. First, this domain is called the sea of consciousness, it is the inner most part of a cultivator's being, it is your mind basically but it is not physical and cannot be perceived by anyone other than you except with powerful methods."

The woman looked towards the sea they were floating above : "This sea is your thoughts and mental energy. Wills are made from the thoughts of their creator, in the future, if you become powerful enough you can make your own will if you desire to do so."

"Interesting, what is the function of wills?"

"Wills replace the user, if the user was busy and couldn't attend something or if he wanted to delegate menial tasks, they can create wills with their own specific purposes and leave them to be in their place since they are made of their thoughts."

"Oh, so similar to a program?"

"I'm afraid, I haven't understood what you mean by that." she responded.

"Nevermind, just continue."

"Using mental energy and thoughts, the sea inside your sea of consciousness will of course deplete. When you think your sea of thoughts depletes but it also has a natural recovery thus it will only deplete when you are in extreme situations or when used, the most effective way to replenish it is to sleep. I can explain to you the details of this world but it seems you will be busy for a time."

"Okay for now do stay in check for my safety."

"Understood."

Her words came true after fifteen minutes, finally after more than fifty kilometers of escape, a giant landscape suddenly extended before him.

Black debris filled the environment and a burned smell permeated the air.

In front of him extended a gigantic battlefield that extended for tens of kilometers if not hundreds.

All Namelesss could see were gigantic trees that had crashed on the ground and were burned to a crisp.

The landscape was a world of blackness yet there were no flames and no smoke.

Nameless was startled.

"What is this?!"

"It is a result of the beast tide and the fight of the divine trees and the beasts."

"But didn't that start a few weeks ago?"

"You seem to not realise that you spent months of this world's time in the illusory world."

Nameless moved his sights to see the cause of such a calamity, his eyes moved to the corpses on the grounds, they were giant birds tens of meters long that laid lifelessly on the ground.

"What is this beast?"

"It's a flaming phoenix, it has a flesh body and fire wings, its strongest attack is it Flare blitz, a fire that cannot be extinguished without powerful methods. Their weaknesses is their low relative defense."

Nameless moved through the branches and came down to the ground.

He ran for a bit before he reached the decomposing corpse. Just the beak of the beast looked terrifying and as tall as his body. He circled looking at the pheonix in detail, it was a few meters tall, it looked really powerful. He merely touched one of its dead feathers yet he felt as if he had touched boiling water.

"Be careful, the feathers can be dangerous."

"I understand."

Nameless moved again crouching to look at the details in the beast's body before a red flaming light shone on his face, it was a red and glowing ball similar to the one he had seen back then when he killed the fire foxes.

"Wow, what is this? it looks powerful and seem to contain a powerful energy."

"Escape! Now!!"

"What?!"

"Hurry up or you will Die!!" the voice screamed in his mind.

Nameless immediately moved, his body shapeshifted into a gazelle humanoid being before he rushed towards the depth of the forests.

"Climb a tree and hide behind the branches!"
