Monster Generation

"This batch is looking very promising coach." Matsumoto Kikutaru said.

In front of him was the Head coach of Japan national volleyball team Hibara Fuki. He observed the players who would one day represent the Nation as a team.

"You are certainly right in saying they have potential but turning that potential into reality depends on them. If they give up theses players might never go forward. Besides I am sure that they are plenty of other monsters out there that could rival these youngsters." Hibari Fuki said while going through his sheet.

The sheet contained names of some of the best out of nearly a hundred players. Setters like Kageyama Tobio and Miya Atsumu, spikers like Kiyoomi Sakusa and Korai Hoshiumi, blockers like Atsushi Murasakibara and Sachiro Hirugami. Those type of monsters are everywhere. He had seen monsters who never made it to nationals or did not get selected. Fortunately for them their talents and effort will make itself known and show the world why they deserve to be at the top.

Kageyama was having a good time in the camp. While people could not really keep up with his speed they made up for it in skill. He learnt something valuable from Miya Atsumu the current best highschool setter. He even got a way to improve Hinata's jump. The best part was that he learnt to understand how to cope with intense pressure from the blockers.

Hirugami never lost his cool and was extremely consistent and would not fall for tricks. On the other hand Murasakibara was extremely fast with long hands and a fast reaction. Even Hirugami couldn't keep up with his reflexes which was slightly scary.

The practice match currently was going poorly for their team. He felt the pressure of Murasakibara and looked at him. The other monsters understood the challenge and the match became more fast paced. Some of the players were unable to keep up but the monster generation simply increased the speed and power.

Most of the time they had to hold back because their teammates couldn't keep up but this was different. Only the best of the best were here and they could let go.

Murasakibara was having fun. The feeling of denying points never got old. He could feel the others trying to match up but that only increased his bloodlust. He could see everyone's movement and jumped to block the quick from the middle. Unfortunately Kageyama held the ball for a splitsecond longer and tossed it away to the side.

As soon as Atsushi landed he took two long steps and jumped sideways to reach Hoshiumi. He could see him aim for the fingers but was slightly slower and it flew from his fingers. Before he got a block out Kiyoomi jumped and got his hand below it. The ball went a bit too low but Miya wet down completely to toss it. He sent it high in the air and Murasakibara started his run up.

Jumping with all his power he reached his max height and swung at the ball with all his power. Hirugami appeared at that moment trying to stop the ball but it was too late. The ball flew above him and landed hard on the court.

The players quickly got back to continue the exhilarating match but the coach put a stop to it. It was already pretty late and they had to leave as it was time to lock the court. The players soon left the area unsatisfied.

The match that happened on the first day never repeated. They had tried to start it but something always stopped it. That led to the promise of an ultimate match of sorts after the nationals. The head coach heard this and decided to step in. He told them that a match would be arranged after the nationals as a celebratory match. Only the first and second years would be allowed and the Youth Camp players will be given priority. They would also take any players that are not part of the camp if they were good enough.

That seemed to satisfy the players and soon the last day of camp came to an end. Murasakibara promptly packed his bag and left the court in a hurry. It was already pretty late and he was afraid that his favorite sweet shop would close. He left the other members behind as they were discussing about their teams.

"How was the camp Atsushi?" Akaashi asked.

"It's alright" He answered.

"Did you have fun? How were the players? Did you score a lot? Did you meet Sakusa there? Did he agree that I am the best?" Bokuto started rambling.

"That's enough Bokuto-san. You can ask questions later. For now let him rest, he must be tired." Akaashi said.

Atsushi left the area soon after and went to meet the coach. "I am guessing you enjoyed the camp."

Atsushi nodded at that. The coach smiled, "You are not the only one who is stronger than most. There are others who also hold back. They allow their teammates to get adjusted to them before giving it their all. Teams like Kamomedai have multiple strong blockers that could keep up with Hirugami. Wakatoshi had several powerful players that took time to get used to Ushijima. Everything takes time. I am sure in a couple of matches you could go all out while your team is able to keep up and help you. You have great talent Murasakibara. Don't waste that."

Murasakibara nodded showing that he understood and left towards his home to rest after the exhausting day.

AN: Sorry for the slow updates. I have been working on a new marvel x pokemon crossover fic but that is secondary. I have published it so check it out. Don't worry I will focus on this story more until the nationals are over. Until then the updates on the crossover will be slow.
