Trials Part 4

Hera was looking and hearing the voice in the temple. "What is my Trials voice"

"You must pet this cat for 5 minutes"

Hera looked at the most beautiful Cat. "Awww yes I will"

"With out it Scratching you onces"

Hera heard and screamed. "Fuck you"

"Ok just Kidding, that is not real trial, you can keep the cat"

Hera raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms as she glared at the disembodied voice. "Is this some kind of joke? You think I would fall for something so simple?"

The voice chuckled lightly. "Oh, but it's a trial, Hera. The real challenge lies in your patience and your ability to embrace joy in the little things. But yes, you can keep the cat."

Hera approached the beautiful feline, her irritation fading as she noticed its soft, shiny fur and bright green eyes. "Well, it is adorable," she admitted, crouching down to get a better look.

"Just remember," the voice continued, "patience is key. This cat can sense your emotions. If you approach with hostility or impatience, it will scratch you. Can you manage that for five minutes?"

Hera took a deep breath, forcing a smile. "Fine. Five minutes of petting this cat. I can handle it." She reached out slowly, brushing her fingers through the cat's fur.

The cat purred loudly, and Hera felt her heart soften. "Okay, this isn't so bad," she said, glancing at the invisible voice. "What's next?"

"You must remain calm and happy, regardless of what happens."

Hera rolled her eyes. "What kind of ridiculous trial is this? I am the goddess of marriage and family; I can handle a little fluffball!"

Suddenly, the cat playfully swatted at her hand, catching her off guard. Hera flinched, and the cat's claws lightly grazed her skin.

"Ow! That hurt!" she exclaimed, pulling her hand back.

"Looks like you've already failed," the voice said smugly. "Try again, but this time, remember to keep your cool."

Hera took a moment to collect herself. "No way I'm failing this again. Come here, little one," she said, extending her hand again, this time with more caution.

The cat approached hesitantly, sniffing her fingers before rubbing its head against her palm. Hera smiled. "See? We're getting along just fine."

"Keep it up, and you might just succeed in your trial," the voice encouraged.

As the minutes passed, Hera became absorbed in the soothing act of petting the cat. Her irritation slowly melted away, replaced by warmth and affection for the small creature.

"See? This isn't so hard," she said to the voice, her voice steady.

But just then, the cat jumped onto her lap, kneading its paws into her thigh. Hera yelped and instinctively swatted at the cat. "No! Not the claws!"

The voice snickered. "Looks like you're back at square one."

Hera groaned, her resolve slipping. "This isn't fair! How am I supposed to focus with a cat doing this?"

"Patience, dear goddess. Just five more minutes," the voice replied with a teasing tone.

With a sigh, Hera relaxed, allowing the cat to nestle into her lap. "Fine, I'll try again. But I swear if this cat scratches me one more time—"

"Focus, Hera. Embrace the moment."

Realizing the truth in the voice's words, she breathed deeply and resumed petting the cat, feeling a sense of tranquility wash over her. "Maybe you're not so bad after all," she murmured to the cat, who purred contentedly in response.

And for the first time in a long while, Hera felt a genuine smile creep onto her face, embracing the simplicity of the moment, determined to conquer this peculiar trial.

5 minutes later Hera was done as she picked up the cat a looked at her new pet.

"Congratulations you have passed, you have passed the test of Pation and understanding"

Hera looked at the voice. "Ok what part of me was this based on"

"Not the current you, but the future, you're future husband another god will cheat on you a lot and you will never have any Pation and punished the woman's who he had cheated with, Instead of your husband"

Hera looked at the voice. "I would never"

The voice continued, a hint of mockery threading through its tone. "Oh, but it's true. You'll become so consumed by anger and jealousy that you'll forget the love you once shared. This trial was to remind you of the importance of patience, understanding, and compassion."

Hera narrowed her eyes, the cat still cradled in her arms. "You think you can just spout nonsense about my future and I'll believe you? I am the goddess of marriage, and I refuse to let some silly trial dictate my life."

"Is that so?" the voice replied, its tone shifting to one of sincerity. "You're strong, but even the strongest can falter when faced with betrayal. The key is to learn from those moments and find the strength to forgive. Patience doesn't mean accepting wrongs; it means having the wisdom to respond with grace."

Hera sighed, stroking the cat gently, her mind racing. "Maybe there's truth in that. I've always tried to be a protector of my loved ones, but what if my anger leads me to hurt them instead?"

The voice responded, "It's a lesson many gods and mortals alike struggle to learn. If you want a healthy relationship, you must allow space for understanding, even when betrayal occurs. Love should be stronger than your fury."

She shifted the cat in her arms, looking down into its bright green eyes. "You're saying I should have patience, even with someone who would hurt me?"

"Exactly. Learn to differentiate between the actions of your loved ones and the decisions they make. You may find that understanding can lead to deeper connections."

Hera pondered this for a moment, her expression softening. "Maybe I should take a page from this little creature's book. It showed me how to embrace joy without fear."

"Precisely. And remember, love can be complex, but it should never become a battlefield. Build bridges, not walls."

Hera took a deep breath, the weight of the lesson settling in her heart. "I understand. I will strive to be patient and wise in the face of betrayal, and I won't allow anger to cloud my judgment."

"Good. Now, you may keep the cat. Name her and let her be a reminder of this trial."

Hera looked down at the feline, contemplating a name. "How about Callista? It means 'most beautiful,' and she certainly is."

The cat purred in response, as if approving of her new name.

"Callista it is," Hera declared with newfound confidence. "Thank you for this lesson. I'll remember it in the times to come."

With that, the voice faded, leaving Hera standing in the temple, her heart lighter and her resolve stronger. She turned to leave, Callista cradled in her arms, ready to face whatever challenges awaited her in the future—armed with patience, understanding, and a bit of love.

Hera looked at the cat. "And if it does happen in the future, I will always look at you too remind of this day".

As Hera cradled Callista gently in her arms, she smiled softly at the cat. "And if it does happen in the future, I will always look at you to remind me of this day."

Callista purred in response, nuzzling against Hera's chin, providing her with a sense of comfort and warmth. Hera couldn't help but chuckle, feeling a bond forming with her new companion.

"Who would've thought a simple trial involving a cat would lead to such a profound lesson?" she mused, stroking the cat's sleek fur. "You're going to be my little reminder that patience and understanding can be more powerful than wrath."

With a renewed sense of purpose, Hera made her way out of the temple, Callista nestled against her. As she walked through the gardens of Olympus, she could feel the gentle breeze against her skin, a soothing balm for her thoughts.

"Let's go see what the others are up to," Hera said to Callista, glancing around for any sign of her fellow gods. "I wonder how they fared in their trials. Hopefully, they've learned something valuable as well."

As she strolled through the vibrant flowers and lush greenery, Hera reflected on the lessons she'd gained. No longer would she allow jealousy to overshadow her relationships. She could feel the weight of her past anger lifting, replaced by a sense of hope and the promise of love.

"Today marks a new beginning for me," she whispered to Callista, who responded with a soft meow. "Together, we'll face whatever comes our way."

Just then, she spotted Hades, Poseidon, Zeus, Demeter, Hestia, and Skadi gathered nearby, animatedly discussing their trials. The camaraderie among them was evident, and Hera felt a surge of happiness at the sight.

"Looks like I'm not the only one who survived their trial," she called out, approaching the group with Callista perched on her shoulder.

"Hey, look who decided to join us!" Hades replied with a grin. "How was your trial?"

"It involved a cat," Hera said, holding Callista up for everyone to see. "And I learned a thing or two about patience and understanding."

Zeus raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. "A cat? Sounds like an easy trial compared to mine."

"Don't underestimate the lessons you can learn from the smallest things," Hera replied, glancing at Zeus. "I heard you faced some pretty intense emotions yourself."

"Oh, please," Zeus scoffed, though the hint of a smile betrayed his facade. "I think I handled it well enough."

Demeter chimed in, "We all have our challenges, but what matters is how we choose to grow from them. Isn't that right, Hades?"

Hades nodded, a mischievous glint in his eye. "You'll find that trials have a way of revealing our true selves. Sometimes, they challenge us to become better."

"Or worse," Skadi added with a playful smirk, "depending on how you handle it."

"Enough with the teasing!" Poseidon chuckled, slapping Skadi on the back. "We're all here, and that's what matters. Let's celebrate our survival!"

"Agreed!" Hestia exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement. "I say we have a feast to honor our victories!"

"Sounds perfect," Hera said, feeling the warmth of their camaraderie. "And we can make a toast to lessons learned and new beginnings."

As they gathered around, the laughter and chatter filled the air, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity. Callista curled up comfortably in Hera's lap, reminding her of the lessons learned during her trial.

In that moment, surrounded by family and friends, Hera felt a sense of belonging and hope for the future. No matter what challenges lay ahead, she knew that love, patience, and understanding would guide her every step of the way.

As Odin stepped out of the temple, the weight of his trial still fresh in his mind, he quickly scanned the gathering of gods and goddesses. His gaze landed on Hades, who was engaged in lighthearted banter with the others.

With a firm grip, Odin placed his hand on Hades' shoulder, drawing his attention. "Hades, do you like guys and girls?"

Hades blinked in surprise, taken aback by the unexpected question. "What? Where did this come from?"

"Just answer the damn question," Odin pressed, his one eye narrowing in curiosity.

Hades sighed, still perplexed but unwilling to dodge the inquiry. "I like only girls."

Odin released Hades' shoulder, a look of relief washing over his face. "Good. Glad we could make this clear. And we will never talk about this again."

Hades raised an eyebrow, the corner of his mouth twitching into a smirk. "You know, you could've just asked me privately instead of making it sound like an interrogation."

Odin shrugged, a hint of a smile breaking his stern demeanor. "I didn't want any misunderstandings, especially after hearing that voice in the temple."

"Fair enough," Hades replied, chuckling lightly. "But you could've just asked if I'm into women—would've saved us both some awkwardness."

As the group gathered around them burst into laughter at Hades' dry wit, Odin couldn't help but join in. "Well, now that's settled, let's focus on more important matters—like what we're having for dinner."

Zeus chimed in, "I vote for seafood! Since I'm the god of the sea, I think it's only fitting."

Demeter shook her head, playfully rolling her eyes. "And I suppose you want us to fish it out ourselves?"

Poseidon leaned in, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I can conjure up some storms if you want it fresh!"

"Please, no storms. I'd like to eat without being soaked," Hestia interjected, her hands on her hips.

As the banter continued, Odin felt a warmth in his heart at the camaraderie surrounding him. The trials they faced may have been challenging, but they were also moments of growth and connection.

"Alright, alright, let's settle this," Odin said, raising his hand to quiet the group. "Dinner can be a mix—seafood and whatever Demeter brings from the harvest."

"Now that sounds like a plan!" Hera exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

With that, the gods and goddesses began to make their way to the banquet hall, their laughter echoing through the jungle . As Odin walked alongside Hades, he felt a sense of contentment, knowing that despite the trials and tribulations, they would always have each other's backs—and a place to call home.
