But perhaps today the heavens were out for a stroll, or maybe it had truly been taken out by Zeus, regardless, Bell still couldn't enjoy a moment of peace.
A witch pushing a trolley suddenly stopped outside the compartment. She opened the compartment door and looked strangely at the three quiet little wizards inside. You see, every year she would sell snacks on the Hogwarts Express, and the lively little wizards would always be noisy, but this was the first time she had seen a compartment so quiet. Just now when she passed by from outside, she almost thought there was no one in this compartment.
Collecting her thoughts, the witch smiled and asked, "Darlings, would you like something to eat?"
Hermione and Neville turned to look at Bell, not saying anything. The witch also glanced at Bell.
"Why are you all looking at me?" Bell asked in surprise.
Realizing that her words were somewhat impolite, Bell smiled at the witch and said, "No, thank you, ma'am, I have my own snacks."
After Hermione and Neville also said they brought their own snacks and didn't need to buy anything, the witch closed the compartment door and pushed her trolley towards the next compartment.
Bell took out his "Personal Terminal" and checked the time.
"It's already past 12 o'clock, it's time for lunch. Let's eat together. When I left home, the house elves prepared a lot of food for me. I can't finish it by myself."
"What are house elves?" Hermione asked curiously.
"They are a kind of humanoid magical creature, usually serving as servants in wizarding families. Just think of them as the maids for Muggles."
Bell casually made a perhaps not-so-accurate analogy, unwilling to explain further.
"Oh."
Watching Bell take out his own box, Hermione asked curiously again, "Bell, I've been meaning to ask since the beginning, did you only bring this small box? Is your luggage really this little?"
Children's emotions come and go quickly. In just a moment, Hermione had already forgotten the 'Tragic Life of Miss Granger' she had crafted in her mind, which gave her a headache.
"Hehehe~"
Bell's spirits lifted at the mention of this, and he smirked as he introduced his ambitions to Hermione.
"This box has been enchanted with the 'Traceless Extension Charm,' so the inside is much larger than it looks on the outside. I named it 'Scamander's Briefcase'."
This briefcase represented Bell's hopeful anticipation for the future. He hoped that one day he could become as cool as 'Newt Scamander.'
When he appeared with his briefcase, people would scream in terror, "He's here! That man with his briefcase is back again!" And then, within less than 5 minutes, everyone would disappear as if they had gone underground. It's so cool that he doesn't have any friends!
Compared to Scamander, Voldemort and others were nothing!
Unfortunately, little Hermione, who only had a preliminary understanding of the magical world, couldn't grasp Bell's joke, so she just looked at him puzzled, wondering why he suddenly laughed so wickedly?
Bell opened 'Scamander's Briefcase' and snapped his fingers lightly. First, a long table flew out and landed in the middle of the compartment. Then one after another, many food boxes flew out of the briefcase.
"Come, come, come, have some, don't be shy."
Bell warmly entertained Hermione and Neville, stuffing food into Hermione's hands.
"What is this? Bread?" Hermione asked, looking at the white, round dough in her hand.
"These are buns. I specially had my house elves learn to make them. They're a kind of Chinese cuisine. Quickly taste them, they're delicious."
Bell said, taking a big bite of the bun.
Hermione also followed Bell's lead and took a bite.
"Mm!? Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm..."
"..."
"Eat slowly, don't rush. There's plenty more. Swallow first, then talk."
Bell almost burst into laughter at Hermione's expression. This was the charm of good food!
Hermione's face flushed again as she chewed a few more bites, finally swallowing the bun in her mouth.
"What meat is this? Why is it so delicious? This is the first time I've eaten such delicious meat!"
"Oh, that's dragon meat."
"..."
"!?!"
"What meat!?"
"Dragon meat."
Hermione once again felt the gap between herself and the wizards from wizarding families, which was so large that it was despairing! She had never even seen a real dragon before, and others had already brought dragon meat to the table.
"Do wizards usually eat dragon meat!?" Hermione asked.
Neville, beside her, wiped his mouth blankly.
"I-I've never eaten dragon meat before. Is dragon meat edible?"
"Why can you be so showy even though we're all from wizarding families?"
Neville couldn't help but suspect if he was still asleep, actually lying in his own bed at home? Everything he experienced since waking up this morning, was it all just a dream? Neville started to doubt life a bit.
Approximately half an hour later, the three of them finally couldn't eat anymore, and the table was a mess of dishes and plates. After Bell waved his wand to clean up the table and utensils, he controlled them to fly back into the briefcase.
"Ah~ I'm so full."
Hermione leaned back in her seat with a satisfied look.
"I've never eaten so much before; I feel like my stomach is going to burst."
Hermione had never thought that food could be so delicious. She suddenly felt a bit envious of Bell, feeling like she had wasted the past 11 years of her life.
Neville, like Hermione, lay on the seat motionless. He looked at the sandwich his grandmother had prepared for him, which was placed aside, and silently stuffed it back into his suitcase.
"By the way, do you guys know how the sorting ceremony works?" Hermione asked.
She urgently needed a topic to distract herself, or else she would keep wanting to eat. But she really couldn't eat anymore. If she kept eating, she would probably make the front-page headlines of the Daily Prophet tomorrow.
'A young witch, due to being abused by her family and suffering from hunger for a long time, accepted food from her classmates on the Hogwarts Express, but ultimately died from overeating!'
She couldn't imagine the expression on her parents' faces when they saw this report.
