Chapter 37: Choice

Gabriel: I don't know if I can do this. I've seen a lot of things I didn't ever think or want to see, all in less than a month. I've been risking my life every single day for something I barely understand, put into situations I shouldn't have came out alive in. I wanna see my mom, I wanna go back to my old life. My life before I found that stupid stone.

Yuuto: Gabriel, are you sure about this? Everything is at risk right now.

Kira: After we left the tournament you knew what you wanted and what you were signing up for when Ali asked you to help him.

Gabriel: I don't even really know what want right now. I want to help people, I want to live a normal life, I want to figure out what caused all of this. I can't figure out why I'm having these conflicting thoughts right know.

Ali: Gabriel, life is about making choices. Every choice, every thought that crosses our minds to influence us to make that choice can end up killing us. We have to understand stand that we have to take risk with those choices, knowing are lives are on the line. That's what comes with these abilities. I'll tell you what, I'll let you experience your life for the next month if you choose to return to your life before the tournament, and what'll happen after. In your mind it'll feel like a month but in reality it will be less than a second. Then you can make your decision. If you still feel you want to leave, I won't stop you.

Gabriel: Okay.

Ali walks up to Gabriel and places his hand on his head. Gabriel wakes up back in his bed. He gets out of bed and walks out of his room to see his mom, Elise, making him an omelet for breakfast.

Elise: Good morning mon coeur, I made your favorite. The doctor says you're healthy enough to return to school so you need a good breakfast for your first day back in half a month.

Gabriel sits down at the table, trying not to cry his tears of happiness.

Elise: Is everything okay?

Gabriel: Yeah, I'm just a little excited to be back is all.

Elise: Alright, have a great day at school.

He finishes his food and after a short walk is at his school, Lycée Saint-Charlie. He walks into his first class of the day and is brought up to the front of the class by his teacher.

Teacher: Everyone, as you all may know, this is Gabriel's first day back to school since he's awaken from his coma. Please treat him nicely as he may still be recovering.
