Prologue

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth"

Genesis 1:1

We all know how it goes. We all know how it is told, how "God" created the world and humans. However, do we know what happened after that?

My grandfather was the first of many angels to fall. During the Ethereal Rebellion, a third of the angels of the Host in heaven were cast out. There were, however, other angels who descended from heaven to the earth. They were called the Grigori. Comprised of two hundred angels, they fell to the earth for they saw the daughters of men attractive and made them their wives. Children were born to them whose lineage were both divine and mortal. They were creatures in human form yet are able to accomplish unimaginable feats. They are the Nephilim.

Yet they were seen as vile beings by the Creator. They defiled the human race so the Nephilim were annihilated by the Great Deluge. It was believed then that the Nephilim were extinct, yet unbeknownst to everyone, a few survivors managed to live through the flood and continued to thrive. Eventually their numbers grew to millions.

In the succeeding millennia, the Nephilim were divided by those born from the Grigori and those of the Host. Tensions rose and disputes became heated between the two factions until a civil war broke out.

This war lasted for centuries and caused a great deal of damage to both sides, yet not greater than those caught in between. Humans were merely caught in the battles of these creatures. Unlike humans, the Nephilim were immune to man-made weapons. They are also able to bend the forces of nature and possess the strength of a hundred men. The human race ended up as collateral in their war.

Samael, the first born of Heaven, witnessed as the balance of the world was failing. He sought the aid from the leader of the Host, Michael and the ruler of the Legion, Lucifer, to stop this war for it will ultimately threaten the Empyrean and Gehenna. Both sides agreed, and the Primordials: Samael, Michael, Lucifer, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Phanuel, and Zadkiel chose a human of unrelenting resolve and with their aid forged a weapon than can destroy the Nephilim. The weapon was in the form of a revolver.

The Nephilim witnessed the power of the new weapon and the ferocity of its wielder. It took the lives of many warriors from the two factions. Both sides began to fear the weapon and its guardian. Not long after the civil war of the Nephilim came to an end. Peace was at last achieved and a truce was made by the two factions. The weapon that took the lives of many nephilim in many a battlefield, is what brought peace among the divine race. It was then that the weapon gained the name "Peacemaker".

Realizing the power that this weapon possessed, the Peacemaker was guarded by two emissaries from Heaven and Hell after the caretaker of the weapon passed away.

Now this weapon is hidden from the world. It is too powerful for any human and in the wrong hands, the weapon may be used for malevolent means. Its existence is only known to a few and its location lost in history...

...until now.
