The Thought of Unity

Today was the day of their and seemed like Prince Clayden is what he said true?" King Rammir asked caressing his half-black, half-white long thick beard. It was strange but it did look good on him.

Seeing King Rammir, you'll think he's the same age as his son. He looked going and so did the other vampires in the room.

Either they don't age or they behead old people Kyra thought and she chose to believe the first option.

"Yes, my King" Clayden replied with all honesty.

Kyra noticed that the King and Clayden don't refer to themselves as father and son in the court.

"May I speak your Highness?" One of the Council members asked.

"You may" The King replied.

"I don't think we are to care if Prince Clayden told them the consequences, because rules are rules. One reason why that law was enforced was not to allow the humans to know of our existence because they are violent and envious powerless people" the noble roared.

"Objection your Highness" Everyone heard a small feminine voice speak and all in the court turned to see the source and it was Kiara.

"Speak" the King commanded.

"I think you are to care if you're son told us or not. We have feelings, we have families and you cannot kill us when we did nothing wrong. We have our rights. We are truly sorry for disobeying this law. Punishment! that you can, but beheading us, no you cannot" Kiara said boldly.

"The last one do you have anything to say" The King asked Kyra.

"Yes, your Highness" Kyra said with a straight face.

"Go on" King Rammir commanded.

"You see your Highness, what everyone here has said it's very true. I and my sister decided to run away when the priests told us that we are to retrieve the stolen gems. We were almost out of the kingdom when the gods brought us back to shore. We fell from the ship and a whale swallowed us and vomited us at the shore. There we meet Farrack face to face in form of a man in flames-" Kyra said but was interrupted by Kiara.

"Gorgeous man in flames, missy" Kiara whispered but Kyra ignored her and rolled her eyes.

At a time like this and Kiara saw the news to be playful.

"and he told us that we should stop running from our fate, he said a lot of things though. He snapped his fingers and two horses appeared out of nowhere. And he said that we will go on a journey to the Dark Forest and we will gain some alliances. That being said I will like to ask, are we to gain alliances with the wild animals in here?" Kyra asked and she got no reply then she smiled and continued.

"Reason! The gods have sent us to gain alliances from you all, the vampires and the other creatures that we didn't know existed. I think that this is a way of the gods to bring all creatures together again in unity" Kyra said with her head raised high in confidence.

Her posture was just a facadé to what she was facing inside. She had to prove courageous for her to be believed by the blood-suckers.

"That is not our business, rules are rules and when disobeyed the offenders must be punished according to law" one of the nobles raged.

He was the King's brother and if Clayden dies his son will be the next in line since the King has no other heir apart from Clayden. The rest of the King children were girls. The man was ruthless, he didn't care if what he wanted was at the cost of nephew's life.

"Ok fine kill us, go ahead and face the wrath of the gods" Kyra fired back and everyone turned to her in surprise.

Her fellow offenders were surprised since she started talking apart from Wynstar because she didn't say anything of such to them before the trial.

"I think we shouldn't behead them to prevent the wrath of the gods and I feel what the young girl is saying is right" another calm Council member said.

The white court was now filled with noise. Everyone was trying to air their views about the situation even though no one was listening. It was like a hall filled with barbarians.

"Silence" The King roared and his voice echoed throughout the building. The silence was overwhelming that if a pin fell you could hear it clearly. Everyone wanted to hear what the Almighty Vampire King has concluded of the matter.

"The offenders will not be beheaded but we will consult the Oracle to know how we will go about in the matter of you gaining or alliances to fight against the greedy King. Until we consult the Oracle you are to remain on house arrest, case dismissed" The King said and Kiara squealed and hugged Kyra while the rest including Kyra sighed in relief.

And everyone left the hall, some happy and some angry, especially the King's brother. The guards escorted the offenders back to the palace.

They were in their room having a mini celebration. Mae was also there but Clayden wasn't.

"You did do well, Kyra" Mae complimented.

"You didn't tell us you had plans" Kiara said with a smile.

"She was always looking stressed I thought it was just stress about us going to be beheaded but she was thinking" Eros said with wide eyes.

"That's what she does, she's always thinking of a plan" Kiara said smiling.

"Thank you all but don't get too relaxed" Kyra warned jokingly.

"Get over yourself, missy" Kiara joked causing everyone to laugh.

It erupted from little giggles to loud chuckles and then a fit of laughter. It was the sound of joy, happiness and freedom.

Then a knock on the door interrupted the laughter.

"I'll get it" Mae said and appeared in front of the door.

They are all getting used to her speed.

Mae opened the door "My Prince" Mae said and bowed and Kyra's facial expression changed immediately.

Clayden nodded and walked into the room with his head down. Kyra turned to face the other side of the room acting like she didn't notice him there.

"I'll get back to work, if you need anything let me know" Mae said and left the room.

"Hi, everyone" Clayden said and Eros and Kiara replied.

"Ummm Kyra you did well in there" Clayden said with a nervous smile but Kyra didn't answer not to talk of giving him attention.

Kiara nudged Kyra by the side and she turned to face Clayden.

"What do you want here?" Kyra asked sternly.

"Ok, I'm sorry for the way I acted the last time. I was overwhelmed by the situation, I was scared, I'm truly sorry I took my frustration out on you" Clayden apologized, he looked broken like a sad puppy.

"Apology accepted" Kyra said looking at her nails like they are the most important things.

"Just like that!" Wynstar exclaimed.

"You can talk?" Clayden asked surprised, with eyes wide from the discovery.

"Yes asshole" Wynstar hissed.

"Since when?" Clayden asked.

"Since the day you insulted Kyra" Wynstar said with a little growl.

"How?" Clayden asked making Wynstar frustrated, she doesn't like to oak much.

"She was sent to Kyra by the gods, she just didn't talk then so we wouldn't be freaked out" Kiara replied.

"Oh" Clayden said nodding.

"You can leave now" Kyra said talking to Clayden.

"Oh right! I was just about to go" Clayden said and turned to leave "see you all later" he said before closing the door behind him.

"You've got sone thick attitude" Eros commented as soon as the Prince was gone.

"I could literally feel the tension seeping into my bone marrows" Kiara shivered dramatically and Kyra just rolled her eyes while taking a sip from her drink.
