Guardian in Orario (up for adoption)

This has a similar setting as my first book. Izuku died and reincarnated as a baby. The world the baby was born in a very cruel and twisted. After adapting to the world and gaining strength beyond what others could even dream of, he died. Now, on his third life, his cheat, the golden finger, came in late. In a world of monster, magic, and gods, he decided he will be at the top. I do not own Danmachi, I do not own anything but the plot and OCs. Do not expect anything grand or the like, I am just doing this for fun, everything I type is just things that come to my mind, so it will probably not be consistent or very good, if you hate systems, reincarnation, OP characters, or just a jackass of a main character who doesn’t really care about the lives and deaths of others, this isn’t the book for you, I hope you find a book or fanfic you like.

Chapter 9

Author went and gathered the combatants along side thirty peasants.

"We are about to be invaded by a large group of kobolds from the south. They will be here in three hours. You guys will defend the village and eliminate them. I will cast a few spells that increase your combat power." He declared. The troops agreed with this arrangement and saluted to him.

Author chanted a song in a low voice, he then casted Stone Skin, Fleating Foot, and Strong Arms. These three spells could easily make a normal troop over twice as strong. And against a bunch of kobolds, they would be fine.

The troops felt power fill their bodies. The looked at their hands and clenched them.

"Go, get ready, battle is around the corner." Author ordered, the troops marched away. They got ready for battle.

Three hours later, a group of four hundred seventy kobolds marched towards the village. The troops could see them marching forward. Although they would have liked to attack with ranged weapons they, didn't really have any, until someone took a pebble and a cloth, he wrapped the pebble in the cloth and started to spin it, making a makeshift sling. He then released one side of the cloth and the pebble flew across the field before it slammed into the head of one of the kobolds.

The kobold stumbled back a bit and blood started to flow down its head. But it continued its march. The others saw this and started to fling pebbles they could find on the ground. The kobold army that were over a hundred meters away were slowed down and injured, a few of them were even killed.

Their corpses fell to the ground and were trampled on by their comrades. But this did not make the kobolds falter at all. They continued their march, once they were within a fifty meter radius of the troops, the troops dropped their slings and grabbed their weapons.

The soldiers at front with their big shields to block any attack, their spears were out and pointed towards the enemy. Right behind them were the conscripts which supported the soldiers by placing their shields behind them and were ready to push once the kobolds reached them. Their spears were also pointed out towards the enemy. The peasants were placed at the back and sides, so if any tried to attack from a different angle, they would help, and if any kobolds made it past the front shield or the soldiers need some support, the peasants would help.

The kobolds then made it to the soldiers, who then thrust their spears into the kobolds, they aimed for the head and they landed. The spears pierced their heads or necks, killing them in a single attack.

This did not stop the next wave of kobold who were killed by the second wave of spears by the conscripts. Some kobolds had the bright idea of moving and attacking from the sides, but the peasants were there for that, and they foiled their plans.

They slashed at the kobolds and killed them in a few slashes. The other kobolds just continued their charge, they had no other thoughts besides to kill the humans in front of them. They charged into the shields, hoping to kill the ones that hold them.

But they couldn't do much of anything before they were skewered by spears or swords.

As for the few that did make it and did do something, their attacks and efforts were throttled by the spell Stone Skin. As each attack of theirs were repelled by the spell.

This went on for a while, Author just watched as they fought against the kobolds. He had already helped them a lot, if they still fail after this, they wouldn't have made it this far unless they were just lucky.

Each strike of the troops were done with the intention to kill. Each strike landed with the intent of ending the opponent on the other side of the spear or sword.

"They are quite good." Author said, comparing them to the soldiers, conscripts, and peasants back from when he was still one of them, in the past, they were not so powerful, even if buffed by spells.

He could only conclude that these people were from when he was the guardian and was amping up the military power of the kingdom.

Soon the kobolds were all killed, they did not even managed to injured one of his troops, mostly because his spells had greatly increased his troops power, it was like this system was created not for his present self but past.

"Well, at least they are still good." He said. Noticing his two notifications he knew what they were. One for victory and the other for leveling up.

[ Quest: Revenge is completed

Reward: Training Ground Building Card ]

[ Evaluation: Your troops managed to defeat a force almost ten times larger than themselves, this was done with a good formation and a good spell.]

[ The people spread word of your great achievement. ]

[ Gacha Pulls: + 1 Reputation: +10 ]

"I accept the reward." He said, he then received the card as it came from a light that grew from nothing. He held the card and he immediately saw a small training ground for knights, it was transparent. Just like the first building card he got.

He found an empty spot and placed the building down. Then from the sky a light shone. And a building fell to the ground and slammed into the floor. But only a small shockwave was produced, the building and area and ground were both perfectly fine.

The training ground was mostly just a flat area full of sand and stone, there were dummies and wooden weapons. It was a typical medieval training ground.

He then looked at his other notifications.

[ Your forces have gained enough experience to level up. ]

[ Upgradable troops: Domana Peasants x30 ]

[ Spend 10 silver coins for each level up to Domana Conscripts. ]

[ Upgradable troops: Domanan Conscripts x13 ]

[ Spend 20 silver coins for each level up to Domana Soldiers. ]

He noticed how there were none for the soldiers. None of his soldiers gained enough experience for them to level up, and this is despite the fact that they were at the very forefront of the battlefield.

This kinda told how much experience they needed to gain to level up.

Alright, right now, he had around five gold coins. So he didn't have enough money to pay for the level up of everyone. What he could do is upgrade all of his peasants, because even if they are called conscripts, they were above the strength of a squire. So they are very strong.

"System, level up all the peasants." He then felt three gold coins leave his wallet. He only has two gold coins left. That was only enough to level up ten of the conscripts, so he just decided to do it later when he has more money.

He needs money, and he knows a way or two on how he could do it.
