Different Phases of the Story

"Father. I have made a mistake now. Don't give me another opportunity." I seethed. I hated that I was standing here watching this man tower over me again. Watching that smile on his face.

"Oh, son. When did we bevome enemies? I really thought that you would stop with your hate towards me when you see me trying to get revenge for you. You knew I wouldn't stop too. But no." He tilted his head to the side, examining me for a short while. Then shrugged. "You brought whatever will come after this upon yourself."

"How did you know?" I was curious. How did he know and even plan ahead of me with that wench, Nicole?

"Hmm.." He said, chuckling. "When Morgan punished you publicly."

I raised a brow. "How do you mean?"

"Your mind was so loud with thoughts of revenge and hate. When I walked up to him to defend you, you thought of your wishes, of your hopes of making me feel everything you did. And for the first time In my life, I shed a tear."

"You didn't consider correcting me with love, then?"

He laughed happily. "Love doesn't heal revenge."

"So you heard my thoughts." I nodded. My own thoughts had soiled my plans. Morgan was gone but..Wait.

I looked up at him, my eyes wide, forgetting we were both enemies now.

"If you could hear my thoughts...then, Morgan.."

"You guessed right," A third voice said and we all froze in place.

NICK'S P.O.V.

Her hair felt so soft in my hand as I tried to arrange it for her, to stop it from falling in her face as she cried. Her cries were now coming in small bursts, and I patted her back, at the same time pushed her hair back occasionally.

"I'm sorry. This is all my fault." I said to her.

She sniffed and looked up. "What do you think happened to him?"

"Well..He walked into a well laid out trap. But, I assure you, he will be back soon."

She noded. "I'm scared."

"I understand, but..you of all people know Morgan. He wouldn't do anything like that in his right mind. He just.."

"Did she die?"

"Nicole.." I bit my lower lip. I didn't know how or what to tell her, but I wasn't able to go in and check for myself, in case there were any chances of survival.

I cleared my throat and pushed myself away from her, then stood up from the bed. "Samantha..To be honest, I am not sure, but I will go check right now."

She yelped and rushed down with me. "Don't go anywhere, Morgan might.."

"He would never do anything like that," I said, tucking her hair behind her ear and holding her hand. I felt Like I and Morgan had switched places, and he was the one who wasn't allowed to love her now.

She shook her head. "Just don't leave, please." She broke down in tears and hugged me, resting her head on my chest.
