chapter 11: project Oscar
On the other side of the maze there was a boy running and he had a coat that comes up halfway on his body and he had the hood up it had no sleeves and he was wearing a short sleeve shirt.
"Huh why me." the person said as he fell down
"Find him." someone said in the distance
He got back up and went into the maze then he changed into a odd looking beast and he still had the coat on and the hood.
"Man I have no idea where to go." the boy said as he wondered the maze he looked behind him and heard them voices again. "How are they still following me?"
He got out of the maze then changed back to his human form. He noticed the house.
"Well it's better than nothing." he said as he started heading toward it
"Hey Tatsou do you smell that odd smell?" Echo asked as they came in
"What do you mean?" Tatsou asked as he smelled the air
"Tatsou it just doesn't feel right in the air." Duncan said
"I'm getting the vive now." Tatsou said
"Hey guys there's someone outside." Emily said as she went up to the window
"So are you sure it's just one?" Anna asked as she also came up to the window
"Yes." Emily said
"I smell more." Duncan said
Then the other people came out of the maze.
"Come and there won't be any problems." one of them said
"Come and get me." the boy said as he hands changed in to claws
"Something is wrong with that person." Emily said as she point to the boy
He starts running up to them started throwing them back into the maze. They didn't noticed the others in the house
"We need to help him." James said as he came out
"Got you." someone said as they came out of the maze and hit him with a sleep dart
Duncan went out the door first then warped over there to him and catched him.
"Shit got to go." the person said
"Why did you help….me I was going to be….fine." the boy said as he passed out. (his hood is still on)
"Why does he have his hood on?" Duncan asked himself
"Duncan you need to be careful." Haku said
"I'll be fine." Duncan said as he took off the hood then noticed horns then he quickly put the hood back on. "Alright then."
"Duncan why do you always have to do that!" Anna yelled as she came running up
"Xiuhcoatl is he the weird feeling we've been sensing?" Tatsou said as he came outside
"Yes I think he is." Xiuhcoatl said as he came up to him. "And by the way we must go back to each other."
"Why?" Tatsou asked
"Just in case you need the extra power." Xiuhcoatl said
"Um alright." Tatsou said
"Good, now get ready." Xiuhcoatl said as he flew right inside him
His tail and wings disappeared but he was still a kid.
"Man it didn't help with the kid part." Tatsou said
"Sorry." Xiuhcoatl said
"Hey what are we going to do about him?" Duncan asked
"Well come on let's take him in." Anna said
The boy woke up before they did that.
"No!" he yelled then he felt his neck
"Hello." Duncan said
"Where am I, are they still here." he said as he looked around
"They're gone." Duncan said
"Thank god." he said
"Hey come inside." Anna said
"Thank you but I need to go." he said as he got up
"No you need to tell us what you are." Duncan said
"Oh you saw didn't you." the boy said
"Yes." Duncan said
"Well we got to go in before I tell you anything." the boy said
"Well let's go." Anna said
"Thank you." the boy said as he tried to walk to the house
"Here." Duncan said as he picked up the boy
"Thanks." he said
They got into the house and Duncan put him down then Emily came up to him.
"What's your name?" she asked
"Oscar." Oscar said
"Alright Oscar tell us what you are." Duncan said
"Ok." Oscar said
"Duncan what do you mean?" James said
"Well let me just say they call me a "demon"" Oscar said
"Wait what do you mean?" Echo asked
"Well he already saw them." Oscar said as he put his hood down and he stubby horns
"You have horns." Emily said
"Yes that's why they call me a "demon" and I can do this." Oscar said as he changed into a dog. "Then the next one we need to go outside for."
"Um alright." Tatsou said
They went outside.
"Alright get ready." Oscar said as he changed into dragon. "See."
"I have a question what happened to you?" Echo asked
"What do you mean?" Oscar said as he changed back
"Why do you have different types of blood running through you?" Tatsou asked
"Well come back inside." Anna said
They went back inside and then they sat down.
"Well it happened with my foster family. They did this to me and their son gave me this jacket and he helped me escape." Oscar said
"When I held you and you woke up why did you feel your neck?" Duncan asked
"Well let me show you." Oscar said as he lifted up his shirt. "Each one of these symbols mean how many form I have."
There was three symbols on him.
"We seen two but what is the third one?" Flame asked
"I'm sorry but I can't show you I can't control that one." Oscar said
"Well you need to change your clothes." Anna said
"Why?" Oscar asked
"Your killing our noses." Echo said
"Ok." Oscar said as he walked off
"Flame you go with him." Tatsou said
"Alright." Flame said as he also walked off
Oscar walked past Ella's room with Caleb and Zoey in there. Then he walked in.
"What happened to her?" Oscar asked as he pointed to Ella
"Who are you!?" Caleb asked
"Don't worry." Oscar are said as he lifted up his hands and then magic started coming out then flowed into Ella
Then she glowed on her wound.
"See she'll be ok." Oscar said as he sat on the floor
"Hey what's going on in here?" Flame asked as he came in there
"Nothing." Oscar said as Ella woke up then sat up in the bed
"I'll be back." Ella said as she got up and left the room
"Wait." Flame said as he looked at her
She was already gone.
"Hey Oscar what did you do?" Flame asked
"Well I healed her with my magic which is way stronger than many people." Oscar said
"Just get new clothes on." Flame said
"Thank you." Caleb said as he came over to him
"Well bye." Oscar said as he got up and went out of the room
"Duncan!" Ella yelled said as she went over to him
"Wait how are you here?" Duncan asked
"That person helped me out." Ella pointed to Oscar as he came out of the other room
He changed his clothes but his jacket which he held in his arms and Flame followed behind him.
"Um what can I do with this?" Oscar asked
"Well let's see." Duncan said as he came over and took his jacket
He walked away with it.
"Hey where are you going?" Oscar said as he followed him
"To wash this and your other clothes." Duncan said as he kept walking
"I think that they're are brothers besides you being his sister." Tatsou said
"I know." Anna said
"Hey Anna what are we going to do?" Caleb asked as he came over to her
"Well I don't know about that answer." Anna said
"Can we go home now?" Zoey asked as she came over to her
"I don't know any more." Anna said
"I can take you back if you want to." Echo said as she came over to them
"Thank you Echo but I think we'll be fine." Anna said
"Alright." Echo said
"Hey Oscar why do you have this jacket?" Duncan asked
"It keeps most of my "demon" form from going out of control. But it'll be awhile before that happens." Oscar said
"What does your "demon" form look like?" Duncan asked
"Don't know it's been a very long time since I was in that form." Oscar said
He looked at his hand.
"Hey what's wrong?" Duncan asked as he looked to
His middle of his hand was different.
"Your hand." Duncan said
"Don't tell anyone." Oscar said. "So if you go inside I'll will have to stay outside for awhile."
"Alright it shouldn't take to long for it to dry." Duncan said
"Hey Duncan." Flame said as he came outside
Then Oscar quickly put his hand behind him.
"Come you to we have to go in Tatsou wants to talk to us." Flame said
"Sorry but I can't." Oscar said as he backed up
"Well bye Oscar." Duncan said as he went in with Flame
Oscar looked back at his hand and it spread up to his elbow.
"Man this is a curse." Oscar said as he sat down and looked at his arm
"Hey Duncan what do we do from here with them." Anna said as she pointed to Zoey, Ella, and Caleb
"What do you all want to do?" Duncan asked as he looked at them
"We want to go home." they said at the same time
"Ok but first I need to do something." Duncan said as he went outside
When he went out Oscar's jacket was gone and he was nowhere incite.
"Hey Oscar where did you go." Duncan said as he went around looking for him he turned around the tree and Oscar was on the ground asleep with his jacket on and his whole arm and part of his face changed to almost scales and his horn changed into a long one. "Oscar hey come on what happened?"
"Oh Duncan where did you come from?" Oscar said as he opened his eyes and looked at him and the one side of his with the different color his eye was also different
"Thank god. What happened?" Duncan asked
"I guess you can say my "demon" form was taking over." Oscar said
"What happened to your eye?" Duncan asked
"Don't know I guess that happens sometimes." Oscar said
"Hey can you help me with something?" Duncan asked
"What is it?" Oscar asked as he go up and walked into the light
Then the wind started to pick up.
"Duncan this is what I meant." Haku said
"It doesn't matter to me he's human." Duncan said to him
"Alright if you say so." Haku said
"Hey Duncan what is it." Oscar said as he was in his face
"Oh sorry." Duncan said
"What did you want?" Oscar asked
"Do you know to fight?" Duncan asked
"No why?" Oscar asked
"You might need to learn to." Duncan said
"Hey come on Oscar Tatsou wants to talk to you." Echo said as she came outside Oscar turned to his side so she couldn't see his "demon" form
"Echo that's ok." Tatsou said as he came outside
"Hey Oscar what's wrong?" Echo asked as she started walking to him
"Echo no." Duncan said as he stopped her. "Leave him be let Tatsou talk to him."
"Um ok." Echo said as she turned around
They went inside while Tatsou stayed with Oscar.
"So Oscar how's you arm?" Tatsou asked as he walked over to him
"How did you know?" Oscar said as he turned around
"Well Haku told me." Tatsou said
"Haku?" Oscar said
"Duncan's dragon." Tatsou said
"So do you know what this is?" Oscar said
"It's in your blood and you just have no control over your demon form." Tatsou said
"So this is basically a curse." Oscar said
"No not really but come on let's get your "demon" power under control." Tatsou said
"Um alright but we must be careful." Oscar said
"Well at least you body is going back to normal." Tatsou said as he pointed to his face
"Thanks." Oscar said
"I'll be back." Tatsou said as he ran back inside and said that they were leaving
"Alright good luck." Echo said as she came outside
Tatsou changed to his dragon form.
"Hop on." Tatsou said
"Um ok." Oscar said as he climbed on
"Here we go." Tatsou said as he started to fly up
A bit later he was flying over the ocean.
"Hey where are we going?" Oscar asked
"Well we're get far away from people so we can go all out." Tatsou said
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Oscar asked
"No one's there." Tatsou said
"Are you sure." Oscar said
"Yes I am." Tatsou said
They continued to fly over the water.
"Hey we there yet?" Oscar asked
"No it's going to take us a while to get there." Tatsou said
"Oh ok." Oscar said
By the time they got there it was night and Oscar was already asleep Tatsou landed.
"Hey Oscar wake up." Tatsou said
"Huh what is it?" Oscar said as he raised his head
"Get off." Tatsou said
Oscar climbed off of him and sat on the ground.
"Well you can get more sleep." Tatsou said
"Thanks but don't you need some to." Oscar said
"I can live without some sleep." Tatsou said as he changed to his human form. "And tomorrow we can get to work."
"Alright." Oscar said
Oscar went to sleep and then later on Tatsou was asleep too. It was morning.
"Hey Tatsou wake up." Oscar said as he shook him
"Yes what is it?" Tatsou said as he looked at him
"We are going to get this under control now aren't we?" Oscar asked
"Alright first off take that off." Tatsou said as he pointed to the jacket
"Alright but are you sure?" Oscar asked
"Yes if you go out of control you have me." Tatsou said
"Ok." Oscar said as he took off the jacket. "Here we go."
"So how long do we have to wait before your "demon" form comes out?" Tatsou asked
"Probably not that long." Oscar said
"Alright we can wait." Tatsou said
About two minutes later.
"Alright you ready." Oscar said as only half of him was different and his eye was also different color again
"Let's do this." Tatsou said
They started to train but Tatsou was going easy on him.
"You done?" Tatsou asked
"No just tired." Oscar said as he sat down
"Well I guess it might be time for you to go back to normal." Tatsou said
Oscar looked around to find his jacket but it was gone.
"Hey um I think my jacket flew off." Oscar said
"Great well we better get looking." Tatsou said
They started looking around but Oscar passed out far from Tatsou. Tatsou found Oscar's jacket a bit later.
"Hey Oscar I found it." Tatsou said as they were supposed to meet back at. "Oscar where are you?"
He went the direction that he went in and looked for him.
"Oscar!" Tatsou said as he wandered around there he turned a corner and saw him on the ground and he ran over to him. "Hey look I got it. Now what do I do?"
There was no response Tatsou rolled Oscar over.
"Great." Tatsou said as he put the jacket on top of him. "That should work."
Tatsou waited a bit then fell asleep.
Oscar started to hear a heartbeat somewhere.
"What is that noise?" Oscar asked himself as he continued to lay there with his eyes closed
"So can you hear his heartbeat?" Xiuhcoatl asked
"Who are you and whose heartbeat?" Oscar asked in his mind
"I am Xiuhcoatl and you hear his heart." He said
"Whose heart?!" Oscar yelled at him
"Tatsou's." Xiuhcoatl said
"What do you mean?" Oscar asked
"You know people have heart well he has two mine and his. I told him that when he dies that I will die. But he told me that he wants to continue on living so I did that. I combined mine and his heart together in the same body. I allowed him to grow but I wasn't able to do anything so when he brought me back it brung him back to his younger self to the time he was killed." Xiuhcoatl said
"But why can I hear it?" Oscar asked
"Well that is a good question. You must have really good ears to hear that." Xiuhcoatl said
"Um thanks." Oscar said as he opened his eyes and raised up and looked at Tatsou. "Hey Tatsou wake up I think we should go back and I'll train with the others."
"Why?" Tatsou said as he opened his eyes and looked at him
"It might be better than just you." Oscar said
"Get down." Tatsou said as he put him down to the ground as something came at him
"I've come to bring you back." Damien said as he started to walk out of the shadows
"I not going back there." Oscar said
"Then what about you brother?" Damien asked
"Go away." Tatsou said as he changed to his dragon form and grabbed Oscar and flew up
"Your not getting away." Damien said as he jumped up and came back down on his back
"Echo!" Tatsou yelled in his mind
"Tatsou." Echo said as she looked up
They fell to the ground they passed out.
"Well that does that." Damien said. "Oops I overdid it."
"I...don't...want to...go back." Oscar said as he looked at him then passed out
"Well it was a good idea to follow him." Damien said as he picked them up
"Guys I think something's wrong?" Echo said as she went over to them at this point Anna took the kids and brought them back to their island
"What do you mean?" James asked
"Tatsou yelled out my name." Echo said
"But that doesn't mean he might be in trouble." Emily said
"Well Echo what do you believe?" Flame asked
"He's in trouble but I can't seem to find out where he's at." Echo said
"Then maybe he'll talk to you again." Duncan said
"I guess." Echo said
Tatsou and Oscar were in two separate rooms with see through walls they were also in white clothing.
"Hey wake up." Damien said as he hit both of their rooms
Oscar get up first then Tatsou got up.
"Don't try to use your powers dragon." Damien said
"Not again." Oscar said as he felt his neck and there was a collar
"You know why you have that there." Damien said as he walked away
"Hey Oscar what's wrong?" Tatsou asked
"We need to get out of here as quick as possible." Oscar said
"Why?" Tatsou asked
"Well you're up." Someone said as came up to Oscar
"No!" Oscar screamed as he moved away
"You're always so stubborn." he said as he pushed a button and then Oscar passed out
"Oscar! What did you do to him?" Tatsou yelled
"Don't worry he'll be back." the man said as he came over and picked him up
"He's back." a woman said as she came in a room with boy in a wheelchair
"No why did you come back." a boy said to himself
Then she walked out and left him there.
"Hey wake up." someone said
Oscar was tied to a table.
"Uh." Oscar said as he opened his eyes and looked around
"Good to see you back Oscar." the woman said
"Mother." Oscar whispered
"I know that you can heal people." she said
"How do you know about that!" Oscar yelled
"Well did tell her." Damien said as he came out to him
"I'm going to kill you if you touched any of them!" Oscar yelled
"Why you are my target." Damien said as he looked at him
"Well back on topic. If you're thinking on getting out of here well you know why you can't do that." mother said
"What?" Oscar asked
"I'm going to make you do it." mother said
"What do you mean?" Oscar asked
"Good luck." mother said as she walked out
"Come back here!" Oscar yelled
"Begin." mother said as she kept walking
"Right." someone said
He came over holding something.
"You remember this don't you?" the man asked
"Get that thing away from me." Oscar said
Back with Tatsou.
"Hey were you the one with Oscar right." the boy said as he came into the room
"And you are?" Tatsou asked
"I'm his brother Tyler well not his real brother. I'm the one that helped him get out of here. So did you bring him here?" Tyler asked
"What is here?" Tatsou asked
"Alright let me just tell you what you are wearing that is alsoran a very rare material." Tyler said
"Is that what is keeping me from using my dragon form?" Tatsou asked
"No my magic is, it's also with Oscar." Tyler said
"What do you mean with Oscar?" Tatsou asked
"The jacket he had on it had my magic on it that way he could control it but here they wouldn't allow me to do it for him." Tyler said
"Why are you down here." someone said as he held Oscar in his arm
"Oscar!" Tyler yelled
The man put him in the room then left.
"Hey Oscar wake up." Tyler said as he went up to him and shook him
"Who are you again?" Oscar said as he opened his eyes and they had no color
"Man why do they keep doing that." Tyler said to himself
"Oscar what happened?" Tatsou asked
"And who are you?" Oscar asked
"Tyler you best be glad that there is a wall here." Tatsou said as he came up to it
Then Tyler started to whisper a spell.
"What are you doing?" Tatsou asked
"You're going to be fine Oscar." Tyler said
"Tyler is that you?" Oscar asked
"Good they're still there." Tyler said as he let go
"Oscar you're ok!" Tatsou yelled
"Tatsou. We need to get out of here Tyler." Oscar said
"I know but I don't know how to help you." Tyler said as he looked at him
"What do you mean?" Tatsou asked
"Oscar I'm going to let you do this one since you're out here." Tyler said as he took the collar off of him
"Remember last time." Oscar said
"That's because you lost control." Tyler said
"And that's how your legs got destroyed." Oscar said
"What are you guys talking about?" Tatsou asked
"When we were kids mother did something to me and so he lost control of his powers then the building we were in came crashing down and destroyed my legs." Tyler said
(back story set several years earlier)
"Man so boring in there." young Tyler said as he started to wander around and found a empty town that was destroyed
"Mom!" young Oscar yelled (in his semi demon form)
Tyler ran to him and Oscar looked back at him.
"Don't hurt me." Oscar said as he moved back
"I won't hurt you but what are you?" Tyler asked
"Please don't kill me." Oscar said
Tyler came up to him and put his hand on top of his head.
"Where's your parents?" Tyler asked
He looked over to a pile of rubble.
"Alright then you can come with me." Tyler said as he backed up and held his hand out
Oscar got up and grabbed his hand.
"So what is your name?" Tyler asked
"It's Oscar." Oscar said
"Well mine's Tyler." Tyler said. "Well let's go home."
Skip by a year (Oscar is 10).
"No don't take him mom!" Tyler yelled
Someone came up to him and threw him at the wall and said "shut up kid."
"Tyler!" Oscar yelled. "Ahhhhhhhhhhh." as his form went out of control and covered his hole body
"Oscar stop!" Tyler said as he got up and ran to him
Then the building collapsed Tyler was on top of him and then used his magic and lowered his demon form.
"Tyler I'm sorry." Oscar said
"Well you can help me get out of here." Tyler said
"Ok." Oscar said as he came over and tried to pull him out
"Hey I don't think that's going to work so change to your dog form and start digging." Tyler said
"Alright." Oscar said as he changed to his dog form and started digging
"Um Tyler your legs are...um really." Oscar said as he stopped
"Where are they?!" someone yelled
"Well I was hoping that I could give you this later but that's alright." Tyler said as he pulled out a jacket from his shirt. "It has my magic on it."
"Why are you giving me this?" Oscar asked
"So you can get out of here and not get caught." Tyler said as he gave him the jacket
"But I." Oscar said as he was interrupted
"Go quickly." Tyler said as he pushed him away
"But I want you come to." Oscar said
"I'm sorry." Tyler said
"Ok." Oscar said as he got up and ran out
Back to real time.
"Alright fine." Oscar said as he changed into a demon thing his horns grew and then the rest of his body changed along with his eyes
"Alright Tatsou your turn." Tyler said
"Alright." Tatsou said
"There you can use your powers." Tyler said as he looked at him
"Thanks." Tatsou said as he changed to his dragon form
"Hey Tyler you might want to get out of here." Oscar said
"Why?" Tyler asked
"It's going to get messy here soon when my friends arrive." Tatsou said
"Alright well good luck." Tyler said as he wheeled away
"Echo can you hear me?" Tatsou asked
"Tatsou what happened to you?" Echo asked
"Well we can discuss that later just get here and help us." Tatsou said
"Alright on our way." Echo said
