So here I am sitting Infront of this old man with a magnificent beard that put all others id seen to shame. The only complaint I had about this meeting was the unnecessarily bright white room we found ourselves in, although the couch I found myself seated on was incredibly soft the brightness did bother me greatly.
I took in the old foggy before me as he stroked his beard and took me in, probably inspecting and analyzing me as I did him. I had sunk in further in the couch and got comfortable as I waited for the big reveal of why I found myself in this strange moment in time.
"You're an interesting soul I'll give you that young one," the old man's voice was fascinating to say the least, both intimidating and comforting, hard yet soft and soothing.
I could not help raising an eyebrow at that, 'since he/it or whatever is speaking just called me a soul I can assume I really am dead' I could not help but smile at the thought of finally being free from my mortal coil as I had found life incredibly boring and suffocating.
I watched as the strange thing crack a small smile, 'Guess that means it can read surface level thoughts or perhaps it can read my mind whatever it is I guess its powerful.'
"So are you going to tell me why I'm here instead of heaven or hell. Even purgatory seems to be an option if my memory serves me correctly." I had had enough of the staring contest between us and could not help but finally speak as I saw things going nowhere fast.
"An inpatient one I see, to tell you the truth I brought you here to reincarnate you into a world fictional world of my choosing and giving you a few boons to survive."
I stared at the man the old foggy that just proclaimed that he would reincarnate me in a fictional world, and I could not help but laugh, I laughed so hard my soul stomach? Either way my midsection began to hurt from my constant laughing.
"Don't you think that's a little too cliché," I couldn't help asking as id read plenty of fan fictions about reincarnating and going off on a little adventure.
"I suppose it is a cliché theme in those light novels suppose it is a cliché theme in those light novels you loved reading but none the less that is the situation you find yourself in." He stroked his beard before continuing his little speech. "Now then the question is will you accept or deny this chance at new life in a new world?"
I mulled it over, life could be very tedious at times but at the same time who wants to retire from living permanently, "I accept your offer, could you tell me what world I'll be sent to?"
"Good, I'll be sending you to the world of Game of Thrones." The being said with a big bright smile on its face as if it was sending me to a world where people die every second day.
"Well shit..." I rubbed my hands over my face trying to think of the perfect boons that could guarantee my survival and make my new life exciting.
"Are you ready to make your wishes yet?" the old man asked as he stroked that obnoxiously long beard of his.
"As ready as I'll ever be," I took a deep breath to calm my nerves before diving straight into my wishes.
"The first boon I'd ask of you is to inject the Super soldier Serum from Captain America into my new body, as well as martial talent blessed by Ares the God of war (all things to do with war will be implanted into the mind of the mc) and Takemikazuchi God of thunder and swords." I stopped giving the old man a look to see if he had anything to add but he merely motioned for me to continue.
"The second boon I would ask of you is to grant me Apollyon and Robin Hood along with their officers as my subordinates, I ask that you make them and their officers absolutely loyal to me to the point where they would give their own lives for my own."
I waited in batted breath for what felt like an eternity, I thought the old man would deny me my boon but his sat still as a statue and stroked his bearded. He gave no indication that he would speak. So, I continued with some trepidation.
"The third boon I would ask of you is to grant me ten thousand soldiers, armored and fully trained and tested by war. The would be loyal to me and me alone. Of the ten thousand three thousand would be heavy cavalry, two thousand would be elite archers. Two thousand would be elite heavy infantry and the rest would be elite infantrymen."
Before I could continue with my boon the old man raised his hand indicating for me to stop. "I'll give you eight thousand soldiers loyal to you no more."
Well, it seemed a good time to haggle, "Fine eight thousand soldiers accompanied by an additional two thousand civilian company made up of blacksmiths, engineers, medical doctors, horse breeders and care takers and finally chefs of the highest caliber. Not to say the rest of them should be mediocre, everyone should be the best of the best in their field."
The old man gave a hearty laugh that shook the room, "Very well I'll give you the two thousand artisans of the highest caliber. What other boon would you have of me?"
"I would further ask for a pocket dimension with farmland and a keep to house my soldiers in, the farmland would have farmers to tend to the land and only those with undying fealty and loyalty would be able to gain access."
He motioned for me to continue. So, I did but I hesitated knowing that my next two requests would ensure by success in my next world but could make me too overpowered so he could deny me. I thought about which to ask for first.
"For one of my last boons I would ask that you make me the grand master of the Assassins in 'Assassins Creed' and that they have undying loyalty to me. I ask that you spread them throughout the world as informants and hidden blades for me to use. We also only communicate through hawks."
I waited for him to speak or deny me my request, but all could see the old man do is raise an eyebrow in amusement to me request. I thought a little before asking for my last boon but decided to milk the old man for as much as possible and ask for a little extra before asking for the last boon that could potentially be denied.
"I would further ask for a map of my surroundings and the world that I could access in my mind, the map would show me my allies and enemies as well as spies and would act much like the marauders map in 'Harry Potter as well as a mini map in any game."
Still nothing was said and only a single eyebrow was raised, and I had a feeling I was reaching an end to the boons I could ask for from the old man, so I figured now was a good time to go big. So, I took a deep breath and asked for my final boon.
"For my final boon I ask for all the magic of 'Harry Potter' and the magical power of Dumbledore as well as the Elder wand."
"Denied!" Before I could continue the old man's voice cut me off.
I could not help but protest, "Why?"
"That is too much ask for another boon."
I couldn't help but mentally complain about the stingy old man but took a moment to think of a good substitute for my last boon that would see me prosper. Then it finally hit me, and I knew what I would ask for.
"Very well then, I ask for four dragons and instead of all the magic of 'Harry Potter' the I ask for the ability to make at least two clones of myself that will have a mental link as well as the ability to use Ligilimency as well as compulsion. I also ask for an additional two thousand personal this time inn keepers, prostitutes as well as sailors with ships to sail all loyal to me and me alone."
"Granted, there will be no more boons, I have given you more than enough. Now tell me which family you wish to be born into?"
I thought about it and finally decided which house I wanted to be born into.
"House Baratheon."
And for the first time since I arrived the old man opened his eyes to look at me and I saw a galaxy of stars where his eyes should have been.
"Go forth and live well."
And with a wave of his hand everything started spinning before going black.
