Third Person POV

Three years have passed in a blink, the Knights were never happier.

Giuseppe has graduated and finished his training. He was now the head of the Crawlers and the CEO of both the Knights and Sampson's enterprises.

The little princess Gisela grew to be a beautiful young girl, she had her mother's beauty and her father's intelligence. She only had about a couple of years left for her to graduate elementary school, and though she wasn't that naughty to outsiders anymore, her family and the people she knows were still at the receiving end of her pranks.

The little girl even involved her two years old baby brother in her naughty criminal acts.

The Knights had a new addition to their family two years ago, a baby boy whom they named after the two men his mother idiolised and his father respected.

His great-grandfather, Elias Wagner and the Knights' children's godfather, Müller.

Elias Müller Knights, was the name of their baby boy.

The baby boy was just as hyper as his sister was if not more, Emma's got her hands full with the two siblings. She would ask Greta or one of the guys to help her finding her children at least once every two weeks because Gisela had programmed this one day for her mother to play hide-and-seek with her and her brother, and believe me the girl was good at hiding.

Emma would sometimes call the whole guards in the premises inside the house to search for them before they hurt themselves, especially since Elias is still so young to know where to go and where not to.

She tried several times to stop this game from happening, but the tears in her little girl's eyes stopped her from doing so.

Therefore, she opted to making a deal with her daughter, she was not to hide outside of the house, and she would not go near dangerous place like the stairs because Elias could fell off them, nor was she allowed in her father's gym or his office because she tends to try to lift heavy stuff in the gym and whenever she was in the office she would start searching for his guns and knives.

Emma did not fear for her daughter's safety alone, but also her little son's because he would always tag along with his sister.

She wasn't that worried about Ela because Adam taught her how to shoot a gun and how to know the safety was on or not and when the gun is loaded or not, but Elias was still little and doesn't understand when something is wrong.

Besides the little boy had a thing for snooping around the house, he would suddenly disappear without anybody noticing and go inside each open room. The room he goes inside ends being flipped upside down after he finishes with them, only the stairs, his father's gym, and home office are the places he stirs clear of, and Emma didn't want him to get used to going inside those places of the house just yet.

The kitchen was still prohibited for the kids, especially Ela ever since that incident when she burned her arm few years back. The only time they're allowed inside it was if Emma or Greta were around.

Giuseppe was still so protective of his siblings, and though he was not around as often as he would've liked to be, he manages to be there at least thrice a week even if it's just for minutes.

The main mansion would always be unusually quite when the big brother is taking sometime off, the kids would be in the mansion Adam built for Giuseppe on the Knights' premises, when he took over from him.

Whenever Giuseppe's around the kids are always with him, they sleep with him on the same bed and play with each other next to him as he takes care of business from home.

They were attached to him to no end.

Though they have meals at the main residence with the family, the kids only come to the main residence when their brother comes to it, or when he's not around.

Emma at first was a bit uncomfortable of having them not sleeping in the house with her, but Adam assured her that Giuseppe would take care of them just like she does if not better.

Everybody knows of his unconditional love for his two naughty young siblings, from the grin that lit his face whenever they cling to his legs when he comes home after sometime, and the daily phone calls he does to them. He made sure to be included in each and every small detail of their day even if he wasn't there in person.

These past three years, though, were tough in some respects, especially with Müller who was in coma for a whole year after the accident he was in, and when he woke up he was almost paralysed from his waist down.

He had to spend another year doing the physical therapy so that he could walk again.

It was tough, especially for a guy like Müller who was used to depend on nobody but his own, he shut down for a couple of months. It took a strong persistence from the whole family and a much needed shake to reality from Emma for him break free from his depression and work on getting himself back to what it used to be.

These past three years were, despite all, the most peaceful years the Knights had in quite sometime.

In spite of the ups and downs they had to go through to get themselves back after the whole ordeal they've gone through for several years, their lives were never better.

Almost everyone got their happy ever after, except for Giuseppe, I wouldn't say he's not happy with his family because he is especially since he had his little angels to fill his free time to the brim with their naughtiness along with his work, but there's still this nagging feeling at the back of his mind that keeps on nagging him that something may happen, the happiness and peace of his family will never be completed unless he takes out the one and only threat they have left.

His father.

The cruel old geezer who brought him to this world had a fetish for harming the people around his son.

And Giuseppe would be damned if he let what happened to his sister reoccur with his family.

Besides he had his sister to avenge.

"Mom, can I ask you something?" Giuseppe asked his mother as he watched his little siblings playing with water in the garden with Müller, Greta, Puerto, Jürgen, and Sam.

Emma was leaning into her husband's chest as she watched from the balcony how her kids and the people she saw as a family enjoying themselves.

"Of course, son." Emma said, now looking at him.

"Why is the man you threw in a hole with tigers, alive?" Giuseppe was referring to Sam.

"Well," she shifted her body so that she was leaning comfortable on her husband's chest as she looked at her eldest. "I pitied his son and sick wife at the time, I saw my lost brother in the little boy. If I had killed the man, his whole family would be like mine. Broken and scattered. I saw my mother in Sam for a moment when he was pleading me for his life, that he did whatever he did for the sake of his son." Emma narrated. "So I jumped into that hole with him and the tigers, brought him out, and made him a deal." She continued.

"What deal?" Giuseppe asked.

"To work with me, to spend the rest of his life loyal to nobody but me and my family, if he agrees money and luxuries would be the last thing he had to worry about." She said.

"Weren't you scared of the hungry tigers?" Her son asked.

"Those hungry tigers are the ones I trained myself, no matter how hungry they are they can never dare to attack me." She said.

"But why risk breaking a bone or getting eaten alive by some savage animals for someone you don't know, someone who tried to harm your papa?" Giuseppe was obviously confused.

"Son, it's good to be calculative and careful, especially in a world like ours, but sometimes it's good to be sympathetic and to use your heart instead of your mind. In some situations you must let the human in you take control instead of the businessman or the mafia leader. We're human for a reason, no matter how we twist or change ourselves along the courses of our lives, being human is our nature, kindness and softness shall always be apart of us. We have the choice to either let it sink along with us in the swamp of darkness we were forced to bath in or save it from it even if it meant we drawn." Emma said.

"Does kindness and mafia life go along together?" Giuseppe asked, not believing such a possibility exists.

"If you're a real leader you have to make it, you have to force those two opposites to coexist. Real leaders take advantage of the mafia, they dominate it, force it to go their way rather than letting it control and consume them." Emma answered.

"How come I was never taught such a thing in my training?" Giuseppe asked.

"Because it's something you have to figure it out on your own, no one can teach you to be a real leader but your own self." His father replied this time.

Giuseppe nodded in understanding. He just figured that he had a long way to go if he wanted to be like his parents.

"Come on, son, let's prepare for our guests arrival." Emma said as she stood up from her position next to her husband and walked to her son, extending her hand for him to take.

"I'll be with you in a minute." Adam said, pecking his wife on the lips softly.

Emma nodded at him before she and Giuseppe headed downstairs to prepare for their guests.

The guests being her father David Sampson, godfather Rob Smith, her brother Ester and his family along with Müller's father Max.

Emma surprised David, Rob, and Ester when they came asking for forgiveness once again after she took care of the Elders organisation, she told them that she already forgave them sometime ago.

The moment she knew that whatever they did was for her own good.

She told them that she was different from who she used to be, she no longer liked holding unnecessary grudges. She wanted her children to grow in a big and united family, unlike how she grew up.

She didn't want them scarred for life or growing lacking any kind of affection from anyone of their relatives.

She want them to grow knowing what's the meaning of family and to appreciate having such grace.

She also wanted to catch up to what she missed having for years, what her heart yearned for, for so long.

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

The night came and the Knights' garden all the way to the backyard of the main residence was full of chatter and laughter, Emma ended up inviting all available members of the Crawlers, the Protectors, and Papa's gang.

They were having their happy time chatting with each other and enjoying the food and the company of the other family members. Yes, those mafia members considered themselves as one big family, and indeed they were, they were always there for each other whenever one of them needed help no matter how low, that someone who needs help, rank is.

Emma was sitting on one table with her husband, son, father, godfather, brother, her brother's wife, Müller, Greta, Jürgen, Sam, and Puerto. They were watching her children and the children of her brother fighting over some toys.

Until a voice so familiar echoed in the air.

"Can I join you?"

The whole table looked the man's way. Emma was the first one to stand up from her table next to her husband.

She scrutinised the man carefully. "Michael!" She exclaimed happily after a while, she barely recognised him with the beard and bulky figure he seemed to have obtained along the years.

She walked to him and gave him a bear hug, Michael released the woman whom he brought with him to hug Emma properly. "I'm happy to have you back!" She told him.

"Daddy, me hungry!" A little voice came from in between him and woman whom he brought with, and a small hand soon followed, tugging his suit jacket in case he didn't hear his complaint.

"Your son?" Emma chirped, just noticing the woman and the little boy with him.

Adam's hand came from behind her and circled around her waist, tugging her back to his chest before Michael could answer.

Michael chuckled at the never changing possessiveness of Adam.

Even though Adam learned to be much less sensitive towards the man as he used to be because of what he did for his wife, he sure as hell maintained his possessiveness of his wife.

"Yes, that's my son, Blake, and this is my wife Arianna." Michael answered, lifting the pouting boy up in his arms, and circling his free arm around his wife.

Emma changed pleasantries with Arianna before she ushered them to the table she was sitting with her family and closest ones on.

She gave the little boy something to eat, but his hunger seemed to have vanished when he saw his peers playing, he barely took a bite before he ran towards them and joined them.

The Knights and their family and close ones, chatted the night away, everyone caught up on what the other was up to.

They were so engrossed in their chatter that they didn't see the eyes that were watching them from the shadows, monitoring them from a close yet a far distance.

Silently warning them of what the future is holding for them.
