Chapter 3: Breaking Point

Even at the start of their journey they had to battle monsters. The team members pulled their weight exept Matigai who had no battle experience. Most of team didn't mind this exept Aterus who was annoyed by pulling this dead weight. They walked and encountered a pack of fire wolves. "Now Matigai those are low class beasts. Kill them!" Matigai went at Aterus's command. He drew his sword and started fighting. He swung his sword with no skill and a dire wolf easily overpowered him but before it but his neck Tundra took it out with an arrow to the skull. The team saved Matigai again. They kept journeying and the team got annoyed by Matigai's weakness. Three days of traveling later. The team was sitting around a fire camping. "Matigai." "Yes Spaz." "I'm not supposed to tell you this but were gonna abandon you tonight." "Huh?" "Now that you know. I hope you can take a punch and bounce back quickly." As Matigai looked at Spaz confused Spaz got up and punched Matigai knocking him out cold. Four hours later. Matigai woke up next to the fire with his head bleeding. His sword was next to him but the supplies were taken. "Damn me! I'm such a failure they left me! It's my fault! My fault!" Matigai kept banging his head against the ground and after a while he heard the growling of dire wolves. "I'm gonna die and it's my fault. Is it? It's their fault for leaving me. No the Gods's fault for punishing me for a mistake. Both Cyclo's fault for being such a bitch over his sword. No those kids's fault for sending me up the mountain. No the village's fault for treating me horribly! It's never been my fault!" Matigai got up and picked up his sword. He started laughing. "Sorry wolves. Not my fault you chose to die." The first wolf jumped at him and he cut it him half using his Devine strength. He proceeded to slice up more wolves as the attacked. He fought until dawn hit. He sat in top of the mangled and torn apart corpes of the wolves. "Matigai. Never liked that name. From now on I'm Kari. Yes. Kari Sya! The Grim Reaper!" He got up and left walking in the direction of his village. After three days of walking he reached his old village and started slaughtering the villagers. After that he stole all their supplies and burned the village down. "Hehe. Good riddance." He walked off laughing. In the underworld Hades watched Kari. "Seems the boy broke. The Gods committed the Ultimate Mistake. This boy will kill them all. Seems I'll have to get ready to battle a God Slayer." Hades smiled.
