A Dream Of A Glimpse

"I can't believe the pond was actually a treasure."

"No wonder the pond area always relaxes one's soul."

Zhang Li Qiang changed his robe and went back to the pond area, together with the rest of his family. After confirming there was no use for his spiritual energy due to the divination arrays on the pond, Zhang Li Qiang dived into the water and searched the pond floor with his fortified bare hands. Eventually, he located one big white-striped turtle which had furrowed deep into the pond floor.

As the giant turtle was making biting moves for his hands, Zhang Li Qiang realized it was a snapping turtle. Although it was no threat to him as a copper core cultivator, he could still lose an arm if caught off-guard.

After they got back, Zhang Wang Jing and Zhang Xiu Ying went to work on the turtle meat and the plants, along with the tubers. Few hours later, they had prepared a sumptuous meal out of the materials.

Remembering the words of the titan lord, Ju Feng cautiously took a small bite out of the meat and immediately had a strange feeling inside his body. With dizziness setting in, his family considerately watched him took his leave knowing the good effect the food was having on his body. Once inside his room, Ju Feng lay down on his bed and quickly fell asleep, entering the strange world of dreams.

In his dreams, he was sleeping in a bed of cloud, floating in the sky. Below him, the world was filled with turbulent water. Suddenly, there were sounds of thunder, coming from different directions around him. Startled awake, he blinked his eyes open and sat on his bed of cloud. While examining his surroundings, he saw a gigantic black beast rising from the water. Staring at the beast, Ju Feng remembered the words of lord Luyang and a description he once heard from his grandfather.

A Devonian armoured turtle!

And above the turtle was a raging cloud, emitting thunderous sounds and lightning. The Devonian armoured turtle was looking up at the fiercely raging cloud with burning defiance. Gathering more strength as it thundered more loudly, the cloud continuously rained down colossal lightning bolts. Despite them striking the Devonian armoured turtle all over its body, the armoured turtle only continued looking at the cloud with a deadpan face. They simply had no effect on the turtle's body.

Then all of a sudden, the cloud began to move in a spiral form. As it moved, it continued to gain great momentum, forming a whirlwind of cloud over the armoured turtle. And the lightning bolts began combining together.

At the same time, the turtle's armoured shell started radiating a green-gold light with a constant gain in brilliance. It soon became an epic fortress of a green-gold light.

The lightning bolts continued to combine together, gathering the energy of the heavens before transforming into a giant pillar of white lightning bolt with the might of disintegrating worlds. The bolt of lightning streaked down from the sky, causing massive spatial rifts before striking the fortress of the green-gold light created by the armoured turtle.

The collision was colossal.

Gigantic water waves and aurora of blinding blue-gold light while the surface of the water was turned into a steaming fury. It took several hours for a little normalcy to return to the steaming world.

The Devonian armoured turtle raised its head, looked at the cloud and slowly shook it.

"Is that the best you have to show, Uzeroth?"

The turtle squeezed its eyes shut as it engaged himself in thoughts.

"For how long do you plan on doing this, Uzeroth?"

Uzeroth, a terrifyingly massive white wyvern, emerged from the wailing cloud. With eyes filled with rage to the point of insanity, its nose flared dark smoke.

"As long as it takes, you stupid turtle."

"Stop wasting my time, Uzeroth. After an eternity of trying, still, you are no match for me. I don't even need to strike back at you. Just go away. Go and find something worthy to do. It will only do you good."

The armoured turtle turned away from the cloud, and was about to return to its place at the depth of the turbulent water, when the voice of Uzeroth boomed out again.

"Don't you dare turn your back on me, Jarredum."

"Or what? Strike me with your puny lightning? Pfff, go away. I have important things to do."

"Important things your head."

When the Devonian armoured turtle saw the cloud raging and gathering more strength again, he swirled out of the water with a great bellow. The turtle's upward swirl created two seperate whirlpools of water and lights. The two whirlpools swiftly combined into a single disc of translucent gold colour, taking off in the direction of the cloud.

"The Ellipse-Of-Two-Worlds?"

Uzeroth shouted with wide alarmed eyes as mortal fear gripped his soul. It quickly retreated back into the cloud, and used his life-saving defensive item, the Heavens Fetter Seal.

When the disc of translucent gold light neared the cloud, it exploded into a massive wave of water and light attack. The collision dissipated half of the cloud, knocking it further back into the sky. The heated sky began sending down hot rain on the surface of the water covered in turbulent waves.

"You foolish turtle! You really want to kill me! I will be back for you and you better be prepared, you stupid useless turtle."

Uzeroth's voice sounded out from the half-cloud which was moving away in a lightning speed.

"How is that my fault? Every time you come here to disturb my peace. Why look for a fight when you are not strong enough? Your fault, not mine."

The turtle shrugged and floated down on the water. He was about to go back into the water when he glanced in Ju Feng's direction and locked eyes with him. The act caused Ju Feng to wake up with a jolt from his sleep. He spent few golden minutes thinking about the nature of his dream which was clearly engraved in his memory.

But, why armoured turtle? Why turtle at all? Couldn't it involve a fish?

Ju Feng stood up and slowly stretched his body. He, instantly, noticed the difference in his strength from the previous day. With an astonished smile on his face, he hurriedly went to the training area and started using the reversed True-World bodyweight technique. The more he trained, the more he smiled. Although he was strong in some ways before, his body was now growing stronger which was making him joyful.

Every member of the family received different proportion of the effect on their bodies from the meal. The higher the cultivation level, the lower the effect of the earthly magical beasts on the body. Nonetheless, all of them were happy with the effect. However, none of them dreamt of the armoured turtle and the cloud wyvern.

It quickly became a routine for Ju Feng. He would wake up in the morning and chewed some white lily flowers before going to the training centre. There, he would use the new method reversed method of the True-World technique to train his body, and the Shifting-Heavens hand technique for his martial arts. When he was tired, he would alternate them with the Serene-World technique for meditation.

Then later in the evenings, he would eat his meal containing some turtle meat before indulging in cultivation, making use of the Timeless-Soul technique.
