Edgar was brought into the school's health center, unaware of the quickly spreading news. The news was that he had just been defeated by a new student who had been at the school for less than a day.
The news reached the ears of the Ravelthrone family.
"Quickly find the student who caused trouble with us and prepare the carriage, we will go to meet headmaster Verhatten," ordered the father, who appeared as though he was about to kill someone.
Meanwhile, in the headmaster's office, Zent was talking with him, accompanied by Celine. The others were already in their respective rooms in the academy dormitory.
"There's something I need to discuss with you about the Ravelthrone family," stated the headmaster.
"Meaning, the family of the student I just dealt with?" asked Zent. He grinned widely as he saw the headmaster nod in agreement. "He deserves it. Besides, it was his own fault for picking a fight with someone in Tier 5. It's much better for me to handle it, rather than that black-haired student."
The headmaster was surprised, not expecting that Eizen, a student who always disappeared and had no talent for magic, could be that powerful. "Are you sure? Because when he measured his sensitivity level, he was only at Tier 3, with no future prospects of becoming stronger," replied the headmaster, incredulous.
Zent looked at Sarah, who nodded, then turned back to the headmaster. "As you have seen for yourself, headmaster Verhatten, Sarah is a former member of the Heretics. They can sense each other, much like you, Natural, can. And as you just mentioned, have you never been suspicious of where he goes? What he does that causes him to keep vanishing from the academy?
He's a Tier 3 individual who consistently withstands attacks from Tier 4 students. He faces them without fear, possessing eyes that don't understand the word 'surrender.' Isn't that a little unusual?"
"He just wants to uphold his dignity, especially in front of the girl he likes," replied the headmaster, still finding it difficult to believe.
"That's the second reason. How could a noble girl like her fall in love with someone who seemingly has nothing? Don't underestimate the love of young people, Headmaster. Just because they're young doesn't mean their love is insignificant.
Most likely, the girl saw something in him during his time outside the school, fell in love, and now they're together. But, they're opposed by the blonde-haired student, that I guessed is her childhood friend."
The headmaster was a bit suspicious about how Zent could know this, considering he had just arrived. Could it be that he is a spy from the Heretics?
"I deduced it from the bracelets they were wearing. The girl who was crying earlier has the same bracelet as the blonde-haired student. Most likely, they are childhood friends.
Because it's unlikely that she would fall in love with the black-haired student if they were already together. Something must have happened between the girl and the black-haired boy. Something that might have brought them closer.
Why don't you just investigate to prove whether my words are true or not? Besides, there's no harm in it, right?
If it turns out that he's just being lazy outside of school, you can simply kick him out and resolve this situation peacefully. The student's family also won't cause any trouble for you.
What about the fate of those two?"
A small chuckle escaped from his mouth.
"Let them decide for themselves. They are no longer children who need to be constantly controlled. They can determine their own futures. And if they choose to run away, then so be it.
They must be prepared to take responsibility if things go wrong. Are you worried they'll be harmed by the noble family of the blonde student?
Just tell me who they are, and I'll take care of them. Simple, isn't it?"
The headmaster sighed deeply, not expecting Zent to be even more daring than he thought. Never before had he encountered someone so willing to destroy a noble family so easily. Well, not since The Jade Master.
Only that Xianxia person dared to speak that way. Perhaps Zhao might have already moved to find them, making Zent's actions still relatively calm in comparison.
"It's not that I don't want to, but Eizen, that student... He's so elusive. He easily evades every spy I send to watch him. Because I wouldn't want him to turn out to be one of the Heretics," explained the headmaster, then leaned back in his chair, trying to calm himself down.
Especially imagining the big trouble that would come very soon. He was sure that the Ravelthrone family was already on the move. They wouldn't let anyone insult the family name.
"So, your spies lost to a student?" Zent's smile grew as he realized it. "No... Not lost. Eizen deliberately revealed himself to that female student. It's interesting."
"What's interesting, Zent?" Sarah asked, curious.
"The fact that he intentionally showed himself to that female student. Most likely, he has his own agenda," Zent turned to the headmaster again, who appeared quite focused on him, intrigued by this thought. "May I know something, Headmaster?"
He nodded. "Of course. What do you want to know?"
"Does he have a missing family or a troubled past or something of the sort?"
The headmaster's eyes widened as he realized where this conversation was heading. "He... He's an orphan. He doesn't have a family at all. Only an adopted father who works at a bakery. However, I'm not even sure if he still spends much time there, considering the adoptive father once visited me to inquire about his well-being."
Zent snapped his fingers. "Bingo!"
He stretched his body, satisfied to have found the answer to the puzzle.
"You mean, he's trying to find both of his parents?" the headmaster asked, immediately folding his arms, contemplating Eizen's recent behavior. "Wait, you're saying he's a Tier 5 with dark magic, right?"
Zent nodded with a wide smile.
"It's impossible for someone to reach that level without some external assistance. Which means... it's highly likely that Eizen is one of the Heretics," he said weakly, unable to believe that one of the academy's students was a part of a cult.
"Nah ah, that's not necessarily true," Zent replied, confusing the headmaster again. "It's possible that he did receive power assistance from them. However, it doesn't necessarily mean he's part of them."
"Then, how could he have received power assistance... his parents" the headmaster answered, realizing it. "There has never been any news or anything about his parents, as if they disappeared from the world. Only they could do something like this."
The room fell silent, a slightly eerie atmosphere settling in, as they envisioned that the Heretics had been moving in the shadows for a long time and would forever lurk, waiting for an opportunity to strike.
"Then, what about that family? What do you want to say about them?" Zent broke the silence.
The headmaster remembered them again and was about to explain. However, a sound from a creature he was all too familiar with caused him to exhale heavily. He knew they no longer had time to talk, and the real problem had just arrived.
Zent glanced at the window, spotting two white-winged lions that looked majestic, pulling a splendid white carriage adorned with golden lines. A man in his forties descended from it, his chin held high and his gaze as sharp as a blade, the hallmark of nobility.
His hands suddenly itched to give them a lesson, an urge he had to suppress with all his might to prevent himself from leaping out of the window and striking that arrogant face.
"That's them, right? The Ravelthrone family."
The headmaster nodded, appearing quite annoyed. "Yes, it's them. The family that has caused me suffering because of their son."
