Giving The Female Lead A Happy Ending At All Costs To Save My Soul

Katarina had a picture perfect life: everlasting wealth, a loving husband, and everything she could ever want, but it all ended when she caught him and sister in bed together! To top it all, her husband ended up killing her after completely ruining her life. Luckily for her, she was granted a second chance to live. But, there was ONE clause. Katarina woke up in a story, as the main character of the book. In order to leave the story and return to her original life, she has to grant the female lead a happy and satisfying ending no matter what. The story’s female lead’s life was quite pathetic. She was blind, weak and bullied, and her betrothed who she was supposed to get married to, is fucking female lead’s step sister right under female lead’s nose. Katarina didn’t expect this quest to be an easy one, but she also didn’t expect it to be complicated to the extent of people wanting the weak female lead dead. ——— | ——— “Do I look like a fucking baby sitter to you?” He demanded, sounding as outraged as he looked. I let out a frustrated breath, knowing I was in no place to flare up since I’m the one in need right now. “No, your highness, you do not.” “Then why do you keep asking me t–” “Because my life is on the line!” I exclaimed urgently. His eyes narrowed and he scoffed. “What has that got to do with me? Do I look like I care? Cause I promise you that I do not.” “Because you need me, your highness. You know you do, even though you refuse to admit it.” I blurted out. A scowl settled on his handsome face. “Stop saying nonsense, you delusional weirdo.” “We both need each other and that’s the truth, so it’s best I don’t lose my life just yet, don’t you think so?”

Troublemaker

Trina's POV

"Now that we're here, I know you don't like Jane," I blurted, which caught her by surprise.

"My lady," she gasped as I knew a lie was about to proceed from her mouth. "I would never hate my only step sister."

"Oh please. Would you cut the crap?" I sighed. "I know you don't like her and I can see it in your eyes and the way you talk about her. What did she take from you? Did she destroy anything of yours? Was she a troublemaker while she lived here?"

The girl refused to talk so I decided to go the evil route.

"If you don't speak I will have your name blacklisted when I find out she has committed a crime. You and your entire family will suffer the consequences. And trust me, it will be my pleasure to dish out the punishment."

That seemed to rattle her as she sighed before ushering me into her house.

I told the driver to wait as I entered the house which was decent within.

It wasn't a rich man's house but I wouldn't want to be caught dead in this place.

"Speak," I said the minute I got in.

"Can I offer you water at least?"

"In this dump?" I chuckled before shaking my head. "If I wanted something to drink I would have taken some wine from the carriage. Now speak and waste not my time."

"Jane is not someone you'd want to have around you. She's useless as a blind girl and she is very much a waste of time and space. I wonder why you have her in the palace anyway."

I wondered the same thing but she wasn't my choice. If there was anyone to blame for that it would be the stupid Kirigan.

"I've had her kidnapped twice and she still somehow evaded our capture. She always seems to be capable of evading danger and sometimes it's almost like she can see."

I had thought the same thing before and now that it had been mentioned by someone else I wondered if this was just an observation or it was actually true.

"So what do you intend to do now?" I folded my arms.

"Do?" She asked as I rolled my eyes.

"Did I speak with water in my mouth? You need to get her out of that place. Either you do that or you'll have to deal with me and trust me, you don't want to do that."

She sighed.

"I would have liked to hire more people to show up at the palace and take care of her but the people I hired have been wiped out. The entire village of kidnappers are gone. It's almost like they no longer exist."

"Well then find someway to get that wench off my property. Either you do it or I'm going to come back here and ruin your life."

She muttered something which I didn't catch as I smacked her on the cheek.

"Don't you dare back talk me."

"I don't," she sighed, rubbing her cheek. "It's just that Jane always seemed to have everything made up about her; it's almost like she's the main character of the story. Jane this, Jane that.

"The prince came here for Jane and now you. Whether good or bad, it's always about Jane. What about me? Can't I just be the main character for once?! It's not gonna hurt."

Now I was smiling. This was the rage I needed from her.

"You know, if you use this rage and get back at Jane, you can actually destroy her and get what you want. How do you see that happening?"

She sighed.

"I really want her gone. But it's going to be hard when she's protected by some sort of law."

"The only law she's protected by is the prince. Do what you have to do and you'll be okay."

I said that and started for the exit. "And darling, make sure you don't fail this time. I have people who fail."

With that, I left the house and entered into my carriage which took me to the palace.

Now I had sown seeds of anger and rage within the girl, I knew she would do what I wanted.

She would have Jane removed in no time and I was here for it.

I walked to the prince's room and heard sounds coming from it and I opened the door to find Jane laughing with the prince.

I found this offensive and very disturbing. Kirigan never talked to me like this. Whoever this girl was she needed to leave.

She was taking up a space that was not hers to take up in the first place.

She was making the prince happy. He was smiling without me. He was laughing genuinely which hurt me like I wasn't trying my best to make him smile and laugh.

It was like everything I did for him was a waste of time. He preferred the blind maid.

He turned to see me at the door as the smile on his face disappeared. That was it. That girl needed to leave.

"I see you're having fun," I smiled as she nodded.

"Yeah, Jane was telling me a story of her childhood and it was pretty funny."

"Is that so?" I asked. "Care to share?"

"I would love to but the prince here asked for me to get him something from the kitchen."

They chuckled again before she hit her cane across the path before her and walked out of the room.

He could see that I had a worry line over my face and he came to me.

"Is everything the matter?" He asked as I shrugged.

"I'm fine. Just a little tired. I'll sleep it off."

With that I started for my own room.

I started to silently pray that Jamie or whatever her name was would come through and rid this palace of Jane. Right now, she was my only hope at getting back my man.
