Giving The Female Lead A Happy Ending At All Costs To Save My Soul

Katarina had a picture perfect life: everlasting wealth, a loving husband, and everything she could ever want, but it all ended when she caught him and sister in bed together! To top it all, her husband ended up killing her after completely ruining her life. Luckily for her, she was granted a second chance to live. But, there was ONE clause. Katarina woke up in a story, as the main character of the book. In order to leave the story and return to her original life, she has to grant the female lead a happy and satisfying ending no matter what. The story’s female lead’s life was quite pathetic. She was blind, weak and bullied, and her betrothed who she was supposed to get married to, is fucking female lead’s step sister right under female lead’s nose. Katarina didn’t expect this quest to be an easy one, but she also didn’t expect it to be complicated to the extent of people wanting the weak female lead dead. ——— | ——— “Do I look like a fucking baby sitter to you?” He demanded, sounding as outraged as he looked. I let out a frustrated breath, knowing I was in no place to flare up since I’m the one in need right now. “No, your highness, you do not.” “Then why do you keep asking me t–” “Because my life is on the line!” I exclaimed urgently. His eyes narrowed and he scoffed. “What has that got to do with me? Do I look like I care? Cause I promise you that I do not.” “Because you need me, your highness. You know you do, even though you refuse to admit it.” I blurted out. A scowl settled on his handsome face. “Stop saying nonsense, you delusional weirdo.” “We both need each other and that’s the truth, so it’s best I don’t lose my life just yet, don’t you think so?”

Betrayal By The Savior

Katarina's POV

I was panicking while hugging the stepmother and Jamie. How was I going to get out of here?

I knew they hated me more than anything and were only pretending in front of the man right now. If the prince ever found out that I was lying he would have me exposed that I could see and I had to find a way to get out of here.

I was sure they would have me killed the minute the man turned away to get back in his carriage.

"Oh well," the prince stepped forward with a smile. "It's all in a day's work to reunite families. I shall be on my way to the palace and I do hope you all enjoy your stay together. Oh and Jane, do be a good girl and stay with your family. If only you could see the joy on their faces."

He was taunting me. That rascal.

"Thank you so much prince," Jamie said while batting her eyes at the man. "I don't know what we would have done without you."

"It's all good," the man said as I held onto his robe.

"May I have a word with the prince?" I smiled as the man nodded while we walked away from the crowd and stood behind the house.

"What do you want?" He asked.

"Are you trying to have me killed?"

"You lied. You're already doing a great job at keeping yourself dead."

"Please, I really need your help. Don't do this to me."

"What do you want? You have your family back."

"You and i both know those people will kill me the minute you walk away. Just help me. I need your help."

"What do you want me to do?"

"Take me with you. Please."

"I will do no such thing."

"Please! I'll do anything for you. I'll wash, I'll clean but if you keep me here she'll die."

"She?" He raised his brows as I knew I had broken character.

"I mean I'll die. Please help me."

The man thought to himself for a while with a hand under his chin before heaving a sigh.

"Let's go back."

When we got back, we found that they had all listened in on the conversation for they exclaimed at how ridiculous I was to want to go with the prince.

I found out they had not heard me talk about them killing me. Only about me going with him.

That was a relief.

"Why do you want to go with the prince?" Asked the stepmother. "Stay here with your family."

But that was only a ruse. The woman was only pretending for the minute the prince would leave I would be beaten and killed immediately.

"No," I said while pretending to be blind. "I want the prince to take me away with him."

Kirigan dragged my hand and took me to a secluded place with no one around as he was already pissed and ready to talk to me away from the crowd.

"Explain your actions," he said as we looked around to see we were alone and no one could eavesdrop in the field we were in.

"I already explained everything to you. What more do you even want?"

"Explain yourself from the start."

He was clearly pissed and I knew I had no choice than to do it.

I explained everything to him. Of how I got my sight by miracle and how my step sister and step mother wanted me dead. How they had tried to sell me off the other day to be killed before I had been saved by him.

"That's not my problem, that's your problem."

I was shocked by his words. Was he as the prince supposed to say that?

"You have to deal with your life problems yourself. You don't need me to do everything for you."

"Please, help me." I kept on pleading as he waved to me and started on his way leaving me to my fate.

With the man and his entourage gone, I was on my own and I didn't know what to do anymore.

This was bad.

"Well, well, well," the stepmother said with a laugh. "The blind girl is brought back to us on a platter by the prince."

"Mother I…" Jamie started to say as the woman smacked her cheeks.

I spaced out while thinking of a way to get my freedom back. With or without his help.

As the young woman who found herself abandoned by her supposed hero, I suffered greatly at the hands of my stepmother and stepsister after that day.

The betrayal cut so deep, leaving scars both physical and emotional as I became nothing more than a servant in my own home.

How was Jane supposed to survive in this place? Why would she choose to still remain here and be treated like this? It was wrong.

If the prince could leave me to fend for myself in this jungle of a home, then I was left defenseless.

My stepmother, driven by envy and bitterness, enjoyed her newfound power over me.

She subjected me to endless chores even when I was supposedly blind, treating me as little more than a lowly servant.

Each day was filled with backbreaking work, with no kindness to be found.

Anytime I threw things intentionally because I was supposed to be blind, she would get mad at me and whip me with her whip.

My stepsister, a mirror image of her mother's cruelty, delighted in tormenting me.

She mocked my every move, finding pleasure in my suffering. Their maltreatment became the bane to my existence, a constant reminder of my lonely and oppressed state.

"Oh God please help me," I would pray for help but there would be no voice. The voice that had dropped me in this place kept quiet as well as I knew I was trapped in here.

If I had a choice to get out of this body and back to my world, I would have done it a long time ago.
