Gilgamesh Untold

As time passes, and Ages come and go, history holds firm as the reminder of humanity's story. Stories are passed down, immortalized, and never forgotten. One such story has stood the test of time, and is considered the very first, oldest story ever told... 'Though this history shall soon be forgotten, the Epic of Gilgamesh shall live on forever in my memory, as a sign of who I once was and the sacrifices I had to make.' 'I have learned many things, and have seen even more. I have lived fulfilling lives and accomplished great things. That story has long ended, but my story still remains unwritten!' 'So now, I write my own story! A story of the things unknown to all! The story of Gilgamesh, untold!' *Inspired by the Ancient Mesopotamian 'Epic of Gilgamesh,' and Based off of the work of iKissTurtles (Who I am working with to publish this fantastic take on the age-old character).*

Rage

Arthur, Merlin and the Bright Speck were just barely able to comprehend what Gilgamesh's casual sword stroke had done before he was upon them.

With precision and deadly killing intent, Samael punctured the Bright Speck's body, unleashing a powerful surge of violent energy.

"KYAAAA!!!"

Gushing out from that stab wound, torrents of brightness were released into the emptiness, slowly

Arthur and Merlin both gasped before acting, but Gilgamesh had already withdrawn his sword and was coming for them.

As it moved, Samael tore apart the reality of the Bookspace, revealing the presence of the underlying force that kept the entire Bookspace going.

As Gilgamesh crazily pushed through the chaos he was creating, his body became riddled with wounds. Blood spurted from his arms, chest, legs and back.

He did not care.

"Die!!!"

Excalibur glinted in the light of the Bright Speck, which was still trying to recover from that vicious stab. Waves of blue magic filled the space around Merlin as he prepared a spell.

Samael came crashing down, slicing apart reality as it did so. As it met Excalibur, there was, at first, a deafening clash before the sound of shattering filled the Emptiness.

Ateah had, indeed, filled the sword with her power, but the power was only channeled through the sword and into Gilgamesh.

After all, she had not exactly understood what she was doing. Thus, the sword itself had not received an upgrade in quality.

As Gilgamesh utilized her power, Samael was forced to bear the brunt of that pressure.

In other words, Ateah's power itself was his sword, and it just so happened to be contained within a sword.

Even as shards of Samael's blade scattered, cutting across Gilgamesh's face and stabbing into his eyes, he did not react with so much as a blink.

As the sword was destroyed, a little feather appeared in its place, which Gilgamesh's furious eyes instantly locked onto.

He snatched it up and began crazily channeling its power within himself, and he let out a most unnerving roar- a mixture of pain and rage.

"URRRAAHHHHH!!!"

As he incessantly pulled Ateah's power into himself, it quickly became too much for his body to handle. The pain alone was enough to render him unconscious, but he clung to consciousness through sheer force of will alone.

With one hand, he gripped the feather; with the other, he held on tightly to Excalibur's blade.

Even as a rain of blue fireballs fell, he tightly held onto the sword, uncaring of how it cut into his palm, or how his muscles were tearing as he exerted more and more force.

Arthur's eyes widened in shock and horror, and he subsonsciously shut his eyes so as not to have to stare into Gilgamesh's eyes.

They were too terrifying. If this kept up, he would lose his self-respect as well as his sword, the most powerful weapon the Bright Speck had ever given one of its servants.

A weapon it had gotten from the Guide.

However, Arthur mamaged to find the resolve.

Just as Gilgamesh was about to take Excalibur, dozens of blue fireballs struck him, exploding upon impact and sending them both flying.

Out of the blue explosion, Arthur was the first to appear with incredulity on his face.

His hands held nothing.

On the opposite side of the explosion, Gilgamesh's figure escaped the chaos with blazing blue flames clinging to his body.

His gold armor appeared untouched, and his hair unsinged. Only his body was covered in seared flesh wounds and cauterized gashes caused by carelessly passing through the destroyed reality.

With Excalibur in hand, he slapped the little feather onto the blade, and immediately began channeling power again.

His state appeared most horrid, but Arthur and Merlin knew that he was more powerful now than he had ever been.

"Fuck! You two better distract him long enough for the Guide to return! He's our only hope now!" The Bright Speck cursed, and sent its power out to aid them.

Arhur and Merlin glowed with multicolored brightness, but the addition of their Master's power did very little to ease the tension.

Gilgamesh was in no mood to wait.

His thoughts, right now, consisted of one singular word- one singular notion.

'Kill!'

He raced toward them, dragging Excalibur along as Ateah's residual power wafted from it, destroying more and more of the Bookspace.

As the cracks in reality widened, they joined together before starting to widen on their own. A chaotic storm of space-time was slowly brewing, preparing to sweep across the Infinite Emptiness.

Arthur was defenceless without Excalibur, so Merlin crafted a sword of blue magic for him to use.

"How many clashes before it breaks?" Arthur took a breath and asked.

"It just might survive... one..."

A cold chill ran up Arthur's spine and sent a dose of reality into his bloodstream.

There was no way for them to win. They just had to hold out long enough.

They just had to survive!

Arthur roared a warrior's cry, and pressed on to battle.

"You'll not win so easily, Gilgamesh!!!"

His magical sword glowed with intensity as Merlin provided it with more power, simultaneously supporting from behind by casting spells in attempts to hinder Gilgamesh.

Gilgamesh saw those projectiles of ice, earth, space and so on, and ignored them all as they pierced his body.

Excalbur cleaved through space, and met Arthur's sword without resistance.

"AAAHHHH!!!"

Arthur's sword arm was cleanly severed, but Gilgamesh was not about to let him off easy.

In a split second, Excalibur shifted and cut off Arthur's other arm, then stabbed into his side. Gilgamesh's ruined arms bulged as he lifted the sword, creating a gash that ran from Arthur's waist to his shoulder.

All of his insides were exposed, and both blood and brightness were spilled.

With a final swing, Arthur's head was gone.

Merlin's mouth fell open. The Bright Speck was silent.

Gilgamesh roared.

Merlin hastily attempted to defend, creating crystal walls and shields of blue magic- none of them lasting even a second. Gilgamesh broke through every obstacle, and faced every attack head on.

The sorry state of Gilgamesh's body would have given Merlin reason to believe he was on the verge of death, but Merlin knew better.

Gilgamesh could not possibly die now, could he? After all, the 12th Gilgamesh had made it clear that she wanted him to live.

Who were they, now, to kill him?

Merlin's dying thoughts were of how their fight had been futile from the start. If they had only been able to secure the girl's power, then they would have won.

The Bright Speck's two most powerful servants had died.

Gilgamesh wasted no time. He was upon the Bright Speck that instant, cleaving it in two with a single swing.

"AARRGHHHHH! WAIT, NO, WAIT!!!"

Gilgamesh paid it no heed, and as its body reformed his cut it apart once more.

"UWAAHHHH!! WAITTT!!! DON'T YOU WANT TO ASCEND!? TO SEE THE BEGINNINGLESS LIBRARY!?!?"

Its body reformed, and again he severed it.

"GAAAHHHH!!! STOP!!! WAIT!!! PLEASE!!! AREN'T YOU FED UP OF MEDIOCRITY!? THIS WORLD IS NOTHING! DON'T YOU WANT MORE!?!?"

"AAAHHHHH!!! PLEASE-"

"OOOWWWWWWW!!!!"

Gilgamesh released every scrap of power he possibly could, and his body burst at the seams, spurting blood and losing meaty chunks.

With each attack, he would send devastating shockwaves out into the Bookspace, only making the overall situation worse.

Aross from him, where the four Books were, reality was crumbling around them. Supporting the existence of the Bright Speck's creations was becoming too stressful for the Bookspace.

It needed to make things easier for itself in order to survive Gilgamesh's attacks. So, in order to lessen that burden, it began sacrificing the Books.

One by one, they were being swallowed up by chaotic holes in reality. This was the Bookspace's attempt to alleviate the strain.

Gilgamesh's onslaught of attacks never ceased. The Bright Speck's light was already far dimmer; its lifeforce was slowly dwindling.

There was nothing it could beyond plead for its life.

Suddenly, however, there was a storm-like surge coming from beyond.

The Bright Speck's final traces of hope were rekindled.

"It's him! The Guide has returned!"

Bursting out of a random point in space, Enkidu arrived with a placid expression, but when he saw the state of things, his eyes widened as he jumped in fright.

"What the f-"

"YOU!!!"

Gilgamesh instantly moved, having locked onto Enkidu the very moment that he arrived.

Enkidu was taken aback, but his arm was covered in bright green energy almost instantly. "What have you done, Gilgamesh!?"

Gilgamesh ignored his question, and summoned so much of Ateah's power that even Excalibur cracked.

Enkidu only just put two and two together, and realized that the power emanating from Gilgamesh was not his own.

Regret filled him.

"Hold on!"

Gilgamesh did not hold on.

Excalibur cut a clean arc through space, destroying even more of reality.

Enkidu was cut in half, dying with deep, sorrowful regret.

That arc continued wreaking havoc on reality; Gilgamesh was steadily destroying the entire Bookspace.

The Four Books were already swallowed by the terrifying storm, sent to the underbelly of existence.

Or perhaps somewhere worse.

As Gilgamesh returned to what was left of the Bright Speck, he came into contact with a spatial storm that eradicated the last of his void rings.

As its contents were empties, a tiny sphere appeared, emitting the slightest life fluctuations.

For the first time in a while, Gilgamesh's rage subsided.

He grabbed the sphere while looking around at what the Bookspace had become.

Reality was on the verge of crumbling. Spatial fissures, ever-expanding, filled the Infinite Emptiness with destructive singularities.

He sighed.

Creating a chain and interlinking it with the tiny sphere, he wore it like a pendant around his neck.

Then, he went on to destroy the Bright Speck.
