Chapter 33: Battle of Japan Part 3

As the dark clouds hung heavy over the camp of Orc Burzum, the chilling winds swept through the tall pine trees, causing them to sway in a symphony of eerie creaks. The flickering flames from the orcish bonfires cast ominous shadows on the faces of the fierce warriors as they rested, their minds consumed with thoughts of conquest.

Burzum sat at the center of the camp, flanked by his trusted generals, each adorned with battle scars and the weight of impending battles. Orc Garok, the leader of the rebellious orcish faction, stood tall beside him, his eyes gleaming with a fierce determination that matched Burzum's own.

Zhur, the loyal second-in-command to Burzum, sharpened his sword with deliberate motions. His eyes stared intently into the flame as if seeking guidance from the dancing embers. Burzum observed his loyal companion, pondering the best approach in their quest to conquer the fortifications on the Mountain of Shiroyama.

"Zhur," Burzum called out, his voice deep and commanding. "Our forces must be brave and relentless in storming the stronghold. We must press our numerical advantage on the flanks, overwhelming them with our sheer might."

Zhur nodded, his face etched with determination. "Yes, Lord Burzum. We shall crush their defenses and leave no stone unturned. The Emperor will fall by our hands, and the entire nation of Japan will bow to us."

"The humans have fortified themselves well," Burzum continued, leaning back against a massive oak tree. "But they underestimate our strength. Rovi, have you scouted their positions?"

Rovi emerged from the shadows, his towering figure dwarfing those around him. "Indeed, Lord Burzum. The humans believe their defenses are impenetrable, but they lack the endurance and determination that orcs possess. We shall exploit their weakness."

A wicked smile played on Burzum's lips. "Then it is settled. At first light, we strike. We shall unleash our fury upon them, tearing down their fortifications as if they were mere playthings. Their Emperor and his nation shall crumble before us."

Each general understood the magnitude of the battle to come. The fate of orcish domination or human resistance hung in the balance. With the plan set, the generals dispersed to their respective tents, their minds heavy with anticipation and the promise of victory.

Burzum retired to his tent, the sound of howling winds lulling him to sleep. But rest did not come easy. Visions of the looming battles danced before his closed eyes, fueling his determination. He knew that the clash to come would be brutal and unforgiving, but for the orcs, it was a necessary sacrifice to claim the land they believed was rightfully theirs.

As the moonlight filtered through the dense canopy above, the orcish camp lay shrouded in silence. The battle plans had been set, and the future of their conquest hung in the balance. With dreams of dominance and victory fueling their rest, they drifted into a restless sleep, ready to meet the coming dawn and fulfill their destiny.

(On the Next Day)

John, Vincent, Sora, Cathan, General Kingston, and Orc Rebel Leader Garok stood side by side, rallying their soldiers as they fought to defend the lines. The battlefield was chaotic, the clash of swords, the deafening booms of cannons, and the war cries of both Humans and Orcish Rebels filled the air.

General Kingston shouted orders, directing his soldiers to hold the ground and push back against the relentless advance of Orc Burzum's troops. John, feeling the pressure mounting, knew that their lines were starting to weaken. Thinking quickly, he realized they needed a strategic retreat.

"Fall back to the second lines of defense!" John commanded, his voice strong and unwavering. "We must regroup and tighten our defense!"

The soldiers followed the order, retreating in an organized fashion, trying to avoid chaos in the face of the Orc onslaught. As they reached the second lines, Sora and his riflemen positioned themselves strategically, ready to unleash a volley barrage.

"Riflemen, prepare to fire!" Sora shouted, his voice booming over the battlefield. The riflemen swiftly loaded their rifles, their hands moving like machines, as they aimed at the advancing Orc soldiers.

With a resounding crack, the first volley was unleashed, tearing through the Orc ranks. Garok's Orcish Rebels charged forward, taking the opportunity to engage in close combat as the Orc troops staggered from the barrage.

But Orc Burzum's soldiers were relentless, pushing forward with brute strength and numbers, applying immense pressure on the flanks. The human soldiers and Orcish Rebels fought valiantly, plugging the holes as best they could.

After John and the other survivors finally reached the second line of defense, where Sora and his men continue firing to keep the enemy occupied.

The idea sparked excitement in both Cathan and Sora, their faces lighting up with anticipation. But before they could finalize their plan, John raised a hand to stop them.

"We have to be strategic about this," he cautioned. "Sending the men in a Banzai charge might be effective, but it will also waste our valuable manpower. We need to think about the bigger picture."

General Kingston, spoke up with a commanding voice. "John is right. We must not underestimate Orc Burzum's numerical advantage. We need to continue harassing them, picking them off one by one, before resorting to desperate measures."

Orc Rebel Leader Garok grunted in agreement, his tusks protruding from under his helmet. "We've come too far to throw away our lives recklessly. Patience, my friends. We will strike when the time is right."

There was a moment of silence as the members of the second line of defense absorbed the gravity of their situation. The relentless onslaught of Orc Burzum's soldiers served as a constant reminder of the impending danger they faced.

"We may not have the numbers, but we have something they don't," Sora said solemnly, breaking the silence. "We have resilience, unity, and the will to protect what we hold dear."

His words resonated with everyone, injecting hope back into their hearts. They each tightened their grips on their weapons, ready to continue the fight.

Days turned into nights, and the battle raged on. John, Vincent, Sora, Cathan, General Kingston, and Orc Rebel Leader Garok led their soldiers with unwavering determination. They launched guerrilla-style attacks, ambushed Orc Burzum's forces, and used every advantage they had.

Harassing their numbers, stealing their supplies and avoid being capture. If anyone of their soldiers got captured, John, Vincent, Sora and Cathan will rescue them that no orcs will never know what happened. Their routine was to defend their positions during the day, raiding them in the cover of night.

It's been almost a week when they decided to launch guerrilla attacks to harass the orcs' numbers, their strategy began to pay off. The enemy forces, once relentless, started showing signs of fatigue and depletion in numbers. The constant harassment had taken its toll, giving their side a fighting chance.

Also, they received new reinforcements from their allies, thanks for their guerilla tactics they performed. They managed to link from the outside world by reducing their enemies from behind of the mountain.

Now all of them are waiting an opportunity to strike.
