Chapter 18: To Suffer for. Love
“Who are you?” Aeliana choked, as she broke free of the trance entirely all too late. “What have you done with him?”
She peered directly where Jacques was, in her line of vision. It seemed as though the lines between her own spirit being and the spirit being of Jacques were blurred. They stood directly adjacent to one another, their bodily forms enmeshed to the point where Aeliana could no longer distinguish between the two.
“Please…” Aeliana hated that she always found herself pleading for help- ever the victim, ever the object of another’s crimes. And yet, if this was what she needed to do in order to suffer for love, then so be it. She would die in the name of love if that was what she needed to do.
