Chapter 13

"So, what are we going to do now?" Bàolì Hua asked, her peach blossom eyes looking at Heng Xīnyán's smooth side profile.

Heng Xīnyán stayed silent, not answering Bàolì Hua's question. She looked around the manor, they stood in. The wooden structure of the house was starting to rot as the tiled roofs were cracked.

Webs upon webs surrounded the wooden structures made by spiders. Dust flowed in the air and after years of no human activities, the houses excluded a gloomy dark aura added with the previous broken feng shui. The heavy atmosphere gave anyone a strain on their mental energy.

However, as Heng Xīnyán temporarily fixed the feng shui of the manor, the bright sunlight shone into the courtyard and fresh breeze blew into the yard, ruffling their sleeves lightly.

The air was fresh indicating that the feng shui was in harmony.

However, Heng Xīnyán merely fixed it for a couple of hours because she didn't believe that they would be in this village for long.

"Renovate." The word left Heng Xīnyán's lips and Bàolì Hua who previously turned to looked around the courtyard. Abruptly snapped her head to look at Heng Xīnyán angrily, "What?"

Heng Xīnyán grinned, "It's time to start cleaning and renovating this place!"

Bàolì Hua looked at her blankly, "You got to be kidding me." She muttered and the female in pink just smiled lightly then she uttered, "Nope! We are rich little maidens, now."

Bàolì Hua was speechless. "We are cleaning this entire place?!" She questioned in disbelief.

Heng Xīnyán smiled at her with a raised brow, "What else do you want to do? Feel spiders or roaches crawl on your bed?"

Bàolì Hua sneered not afraid as she stated, "I'm fine with that! I lived in the wild my entire life!"

Heng Xīnyán shrugged, "That was before I came. Now let's go find those cleaning tools."

Bàolì Hua frowned. "I hate you."

Heng Xīnyán grinned, "You're not going to be the first nor the last person that tell me that!" She mentioned with a cheeky wink in Bàolì Hua's direction.

Bàolì Hua rolled her eyes and followed Heng Xīnyán into one of the smaller wooden houses. It was located in the eastern corner of the manor, it was seen as a servant's quarters. Hence, Heng Xīnyán thought, they must have cleaning tools inside.

Sliding the door open, Heng Xīnyán entered the dark room. With a wave of her pink sleeves, the windows of the room opened and she looked around the room which barely had furniture. Her spiritual energy swept the house and she frowned lightly.

Seeing her frown, Bàolì Hua asked, "What's wrong?"

"The evil spiritual energy that made the talismans seems to have originated in this house," Heng Xīnyán answered and Bàolì Hua said no really caring, "It won't hurt us. Leave it be and get what we came here for."

Heng Xīnyán nodded and her red spiritual energy got back some tools. Bàolì Hua watched the strange materials and she furrowed her brows, finding it troublesome as she did not know how to work the items.

She took her eyes off the crude wooden tools that would obviously not make them finish cleaning by tonight. It made take days with just the two of them and Bàolì Hua felt it was really troublesome. Back in her forest, all she did was laze around the whole day. She used to bully the other animals in the forest for food and her habitat was rarely dirtied.

Even if it was, she moved to another spot. Instead of cleaning it but if she loved the spot, she just cast a Cleansing Spell and let her spiritual energy clean it.

Hence, lazy Miss Bàolì Hua asked, "Why not just cast a Cleansing Spell?"

Heng Xīnyán's siren-shaped glance at Bàolì Hua, "Can a Cleansing Spell cast clean this entire manor?"

Bàolì Hua rolled her eyes, "If we combine our spiritual energy, it is possible."

Heng Xīnyán hummed. "Okay, let's go back in the courtyard, then."

Bàolì Hua nodded and they exited the servant's quarter's wooden building. Yet, under their keen spiritual sense, they failed to notice the pair of cat-like eyes watching them from above on the roof of the quarters.

Standing in the courtyard with knee-length grass, the females stood. One dressed in pink and the other dressed in green. They held each other's hand and their spiritual energy was released into the atmosphere.

Green and red spiritual energy intervene with each other until they merge into one. Their owners stood in the courtyard, with their dark eyes closed. The spiritual energies surrounded the entire manor in a faint white fog that gradually covered it.

It took a few minutes before Bàolì Hua opened her eyes, her lips curved into a smile that didn't look like a smile. "Cleanse!" She commanded and the giant fog descended onto the manor with a poof.

Soon, it dispersed slowly and Heng Xīnyán opened her dark eyes, she looked around the manor with a stunned face, "I know the Cleansing Spell is used to clean clothes not houses."

Bàolì Hua sneered, "Well, now you know."

Heng Xīnyán nodded, "Yeah."

Walking around the manor, Heng Xīnyán finally saw the value of the houses. It was like time flowed backwards as the houses looked brand new, no dust particles were flowing in the air anymore and Heng Xīnyán hummed with a pleased face.

"This is a lovely manor," she stated and Bàolì Hua yawned, "Yeah… Whatever."

Heng Xīnyán paid her no mind and she continued to explore the manor.

"Which courtyard would you like?" Heng Xīnyán asked and Bàolì Hua's eyes scanned the courtyard they stood in. This courtyard was located in the eastern concern of the manor. The wooden house inside was uniquely designed with statues of many mystic animals and a large pear blossom tree was in the yard.

It wasn't blooming yet Bàolì Hua muttered quietly, "This one."

Heng Xīnyán was not surprised as she looked at the pear blossom tree in the yard. The leaves were a bright emerald green and she sighed, "You can make a flower garden too."

Bàolì Hua immediately refused. "Too much work."

Heng Xīnyán's lips twitched, "Whatever. Let's get a wood to name your courtyard."

Bàolì Hua looked at the female in pink who already started to walk away. She hurried to catch up to her, "What do you mean, name the courtyard?"

"We are going to have maids, so it's best to name the courtyard." Heng Xīnyán's voice was faint and Bàolì Hua frowned, "More people will be living here?"

Heng Xīnyán smiled, "Yes. So… any courtyard names in mind?"

Bàolì Hua's face soured. Obviously, not liking the idea of having other people in her personal space. Even worse, they are human souls.
