NOT THE ONE

CLAIRE

I still remember what happened that day . But it wouldn't be wise to tell Anne. 

I know what y'all are thinking , why right ? Because I wanted us to live , that's why .

After I took the keys from Anne's hands and walked into my room , I marvelled at the place. 

"Wow" I gasped. I brought out my phone to snap the room when my phone caught something ontop the cupboard. 

"What is that ?could it have belonged to the previous visitor?". I tip-toed to bring it down . But it fell making a loud thump on the floor . 

Thump!

I screamed when I saw what it was .It was a body drained out of blood. What is this ? . I quickly dragged the body under the bed then Arnold walked in.  

" What's the problem?"

I looked around " uhh, the window . A bird flew into the window . Sorry if I was too loud "

" Is that what you are supposed to be apologizing for ?"

I looked confused. Did he know about the body ?" I...don't understand"

" You and your friend. I heard you guys when you insulted the name of this place"

Oh , so he meant that . 

"I'm offended because I named it after a loved one . I didn't like hearing it being insulted"

"Oh so that's what you meant?"

" Yes"

I nodded my head ", then go to the next room and get your apology from Anne. She was the one who did the talking"

The colour on Arnold's face changed " what did you say ?"

"You ...just made a big mistake , girl "

A voice said. I looked around. Who said that?

I felt a hand grab at my feet from under the bed. What the ?! It was alive ? But before I could process anything something hit the back of my head and I fell down .

"Hey , what are you thinking about?" Anne asked snapping me from my thoughts.  

"It's going to get boring here by ourselves . Since we are going to be here for the next two weeks , can we atleast invite some of our friends?"

Anne took my phone" yes and I'm calling Jason first "

I shrieked"no "

"You liar, I knew you didn't tell Jason about you being hospitalized"

"That's because he was going to rush down here "

"Claire"

"What?"

"Do you really not remember what happened to you ?"

Sorry Anne , the last thing I want right now is for us both to start freaking out. 

"Of course"

"Okay"

"Okay what ?"

"We'll invite some of our friends but I really hope you are right and we ain't all living with a psycho "

"Anne!"

"What?"

"The last thing we need right now is for you to stop insulting Arnold he was nice enough to bring us here to the hospital"

A nurse walked in " sorry to interrupt but are you guys talking that man that was here earlier"

"Yes"

"He wasn't the one that brought you both to the hospital"

Great, I'm shocked. But thank you nurse for adding to Anne's suspicions . 

"Then who was?"

"A young man in his twenties , that's all I know ". 

Okay, now I'm definitely not sure if inviting our friends over is the right move.

Thomas had always found this hotel in the middle of nowhere creepy but since his friends found him creepy too , he decided to chill out here for a day before going back home .

He came out of his room and saw are Arnold locking up the front door.

That's not weird. he said to himself.

He went back to his room and turned back when he heard hurried footsteps running down to the front door.

A girl was trying hard to push the door open.

He wanted to help her but stopped. she would think he was weird too. Everyone always thought he was weird.

She ran to the third floor and he saw her pass out on the stairs through the peep hole of his door.

" what the -" he said. He covered his mouth as he saw something claded in black pass by his door and went to unlock the front door.

Now that was creepy.

He looked around his room for an escape route but there was none .

The windows were stuck shut and the only way to get out was through the main door- the front door.

Someone would come out soon eventually. Thomas thought. With the noise she made while trying to open the door , someone would come out soon eventually.

But no one came.

The front door was opened and Arnold walked in .

Arnold stopped Infront of Thomas room and looked at the peep hole " student, you still there ?"

Startled , Thomas ran away from the door and move to hide behind his bed.

Arnold broke down his door and barged into his room " hey, student. do you wanna get out of here alive ?"

Thomas shivered behind the bed and didn't respond.

Arnold appeared Infront of him and Thomas yelped.

" I asked you a question "

" yes , please. spare me "

Arnold smiled " There's a girl on the third floor and room 37. Take them to the nearest hospital "

" okay "

Thomas stood up to leave when Arnold spoke up again " oh and student"

" what ?"

Arnold's eyes turned bloodshot " one word about this and you are dead "

Thomas shivered and ran upstairs and grabbed Claire and Anne and took them out of the hotel .

On his way out, he saw the door to room 26 was opened and peeped in and saw blood .

He shivered. After helping these girls he was leaving here ASAP.

He looked around but didn't see any sign of any hospital so he walked.

After walking for 20 minutes,he saw a big hospital and ran in .

" help me " he said grabbing a nurse who took the girls from him .

He looked at Arnold who smirked at him and quickly looked away.

He wanted to leave when Arnold approached him and said " wait outside. I'm sure one of them would need your help for directions later "

" why are you doing all this ?" Thomas asked

" if you find out, you die. Do you still want to know ?"

Thomas shook his head.

" good boy " Arnold said Patting his shoulder " now wait outside before I change my mind "
