Liliana couldn't help but smile when a few customers pointed out that the tastes of the cakes changed slightly despite remaining delicious. She wondered if they had godly tongues to discern the little differences.
"Our pastry chef is currently on leave. He got injured. The one who made today's baked goods is his collegemate."
Liliana was being truthful to them. Hearing that, the customers wished for Lucas' quick recovery while also asking her to convey some cheering words to Ethan. She did as she was requested.
While waiting for Talia to arrive, Liliana's mind wandered to Lucas and the fluffy ball of a kitten. The man brought the tiny ginger one to the veterinary clinic around noon.
