"Brother Asher, what are you doing here alone?"
Asher blinked a few times, trying to regain his sobriety. Narrowing his eyes, he stared back at Elaine who was now approaching him.
"What are you doing here?" Asher threw the question back at the young woman.
Asher knew Elaine was no stranger to this nightclub. After all, the place was owned by Rupert who adored her. But, he didn't expect to bump into her this time of all night.
Elaine pushed a strand of her hair to the back of her ear. With a sweet smile, she answered, "Brother Rupert got a call from the manager. He said that you're here so I came to check."
Elaine really couldn't believe her luck tonight. She came to the nightclub because she wanted to vent to Rupert about her dissatisfaction. He had always been a good listener.
Alvin was not here. Elaine didn't tell her cousin brother about her meeting Rupert tonight.
