Lumine, using the power of her wind wings, landed safely on the ground. Seeing the Wind Dragon leaving, the flower fairy beast returned to Jean's side.
"Traveler, are you alright?" Amber quickly ran over when she saw Lumine descend.
"I'm fine, Amber. What was that creature that looked like a dragon?"
"Ah, its name is the Wind Dragon."
"Kaeya, handle the situation. Bring those two strangers to the headquarters of the Knights of Favonius."
"Okay."
After saying this, Kaeya started walking towards Amber.
"Wow!!" Possessing the power to fight a giant dragon...
Are you our guest... or a new storm?
"The Wind Dragon is starting to attack the city directly!"
"Kaeya, Traveler, your arrival is timely, let's hurry..."
"Wait, Amber, there are still people here who haven't had a chance to get to know each other, right?"
"Uh... Traveler, this is Kaeya, our cavalry captain."
"These two are travelers from afar, Lumine and Paimon." Amber introduced both parties to each other.
She then explained how she met Lumine to Kaeya.
"I see, welcome to Mondstadt City, though it's unfortunate that it's during such a terrible time. I understand the pain of being separated from a blood relative, Traveler. The Acting Grand Master is very interested in you two and hopes that you can visit the Knights of Favonius Headquarters."
Later, under Kaeya's lead, Lumine and Paimon entered the Knights of Favonius headquarters together.
"Acting Grand Master, I've brought the people."
"Mondstadt welcomes you, travelers carried here by the wind."
"I am the Acting Grand Master, Jean. This is Lisa, the librarian of the Knights."
"Hello Grand Master Jean, hello Lisa."
"I saw your fight earlier. It's a pity that since the Wind Dragon's resurrection, it has been active around the city, causing chaos."
"Please stay in Mondstadt for now and let our Knights of Favonius handle the situation."
"We'll have to rely on the Knights then. Can you tell us where the inn is?" Lumine looked at Jean and Lisa.
After all, this is their city, and since they're not asking for help, she doesn't need to intervene. Her goal is only to find her brother.
"Hey, we can't just stand by, Lumine. Shouldn't we get involved?"
However, as soon as Lumine finished speaking, Paimon interjected.
After all, if they help the Knights, perhaps they'll be thanked and maybe even receive some Mora, leading to lots of delicious food.
"In that case, let's discuss some plans."
They then began discussing strategies at the Knights headquarters.
Lisa smiled slightly and suggested, "If that's the case, we could go to the abandoned Four Winds Temples."
"Indeed, the Four Winds Temples are worth investigating." Jean nodded in agreement.
"There's no time to waste. Let's go there now."
Everyone left the Knights headquarters, heading towards the Four Winds Temples.
"By the way, Jean, when I was in the air, I saw a fairy like Paimon appear and helped me repel the Wind Dragon. Do you know what that was?" Lumine couldn't help but ask about the fairy she saw earlier on their journey.
"Lumine, are you talking about this one?"
Jean let the Floral Fairy fly out in front of everyone.
"Eh, how can this creature fly like Paimon?" Paimon, seeing this Floral Fairy, immediately became curious.
"Chirp!" The Floral Fairy, seeing Paimon fly over, hid behind Acting Grand Master Jean.
"This sprite is called a floral sprite, it's a bit shy," said Jean.
"I received it as a reward from reading comics in the comic shop in Mondstadt City."
"Reading comics can get you rewards?" Paimon's eyes sparkled with greed as she heard this.
"Not only me, but Lisa also received a reward."
"Kaeya, Amber, once we've sorted this out, you can go and have a look too."
"Oh, I've been away for a few days, and Mondstadt City now has a comic shop where you can get rewards?" Amber nodded, somewhat surprised. After all, such a thing had never happened before.
"Yes, Acting Grand Master Jean, once we're done with this, I'll go and have a look," she said.
"Then, Acting Grand Master Jean, what rewards can we get from this comic shop? Can we get any reward?" Lumine asked again. If this were the case, could she get a reward from the comic shop and find out the news of her brother?
"I'm not sure, but Mr. Owner did say that you could receive a reward from reading the comics. As for what the reward is, it depends on your luck."
"Good luck might give you a good reward, and bad luck might give you a poor reward."
"I see, when we get back to Mondstadt City, I will definitely go and take a look."
They all walked and chatted, and soon arrived at the Four Winds Temple.
"Traveler, Paimon, let's go in," said Jean, and everyone stepped into the temple of the Four Winds.
After solving the problems inside, Lumine learned about the Four Winds of Mondstadt from Lisa.
Dvalin the dragon, the Master of the Southern Wind, the Wolf of the Northern Wind, the Eagle of the Western Wind... They are the guardians of the Four Winds of Mondstadt and the followers of the Wind God, Barbatos. Dvalin is the name of the Stormterror dragon.
"So that dragon is Dvalin."
After this matter was resolved, Lumine returned to Mondstadt with the members of the Knights of Favonius.
"Lumine, let Kaeya take you to the inn first, then you can either rest or go to the New Century comic shop," Jean suggested.
"Then I'll trouble Kaeya."
"Haha, no need to be so polite." Jean had other matters to attend to, so she left with Lisa.
"Traveler, let's go, I'll take you to the inn first," Kaeya suggested.
"Lumine, after we get to the inn, let's go to the New Century comic shop, read some comics, and if we can get some rewards, that would be great!"
Back in Mondstadt, Paimon couldn't suppress her thoughts.
"Well, we'll go later, Kaeya, do you want to come?" Lumine asked.
"I can't go for now. After all, we just encountered Stormterror, and Jean is sure to entrust me with some things. Some other day," Kaeya shook his head, refusing to accompany Lumine to the comic shop.
"Then it's just Paimon and me." Then Kaeya took Lumine and Paimon to the inn.
Of course, as Lumine helped Mondstadt and repelled Stormterror, the Knights of Favonius naturally paid for her accommodation in Mondstadt.
"Traveler, Paimon, we'll see you another day," Kaeya said.
"Kaeya, see you another day."
"Lumine, let's quickly go to the New Century comic shop," Paimon stomped her feet excitedly in the air.
Seeing Paimon so excited, Lumine couldn't refuse and just laughed.
"Alright then."
_______________
Venti, Paimon, and Lumine left the hotel. Just as they stepped out, Venti appeared before them.
"Hello, Traveler," greeted Venti.
Lumine and Paimon looked at the sudden arrival of this green guy with curiosity.
"Hey, who are you?" Lumine asked.
Paimon hovered in the air, observing the newcomer. "I'm Venti, the bard of Mondstadt," he replied.
"Venti, a bard? So, you're good at singing?" Lumine inquired.
"Of course! I have been Mondstadt's top bard for three years in a row," Venti boasted.
"Oh, do you have something important to discuss with us?" Lumine asked, keeping a cautious eye on this sudden stranger despite being in Mondstadt herself.
"Hey, friends, no need to be so guarded. I saw how you defeated the Stormterror today, you're impressive," Venti reassured.
"Hey, Venti, if you're here to boast about us, it's not necessary. We still want to go to the comic store," Paimon interjected.
"Oh, you're going to the comic store?" Venti asked.
"Is it the New Century Comic Store?" Lumine inquired.
"Yes, that's the one. Have you been there too, Venti?" Lumine questioned.
"I have indeed been there. I even had a drink with the owner. How about I take you there?" Venti offered.
"You'll take us? That sounds great!" Lumine and Paimon agreed.
"In that case, tell me, what rewards did you get at the store?" Lumine inquired.
"Um... I didn't actually read any comics," Venti admitted.
"Oh, so you went to a comic store and didn't read any comics?" Paimon felt disappointed upon hearing this.
She was hoping to learn about the rewards they could get from Venti.
"Haha, the store owner, Takarou, said that the rewards depend on your luck. Good luck brings good rewards," Venti explained.
"Well, when it comes to luck, I think the Traveler and I have good luck," Paimon commented.
"Um... Paimon, I don't think our luck has been that great. We encountered Stormterror as soon as we arrived in Mondstadt," Lumine contradicted.
"Oh come on, you defeated it, and you didn't even get hurt. That proves you have good luck," Venti argued.
The three of them soon arrived at the New Century Comic Store.
"Lumine, do you know all these people in the comic outside the door?" Paimon asked, looking at the comic posters.
"I don't know them either. Let's go inside," Lumine suggested.
"Hey, Takarou, I brought you two customers," Venti announced as they entered the comic store.
"Hmm, you're still missing three people," Takarou smiled, his gaze shifting towards Lumine and Paimon.
"What do you mean, missing three people?" Lumine asked, curious about Venti's plan with the owner.
"Ahem," Venti chuckled.
"What does 'ahem' mean?" Lumine questioned.
"I asked Venti to bring five customers, and in return, I would give him a bottle of wine," Takarou explained.
"Alright then, Venti, I thought you were being kind, but it turns out you did it for the wine. That annoys me. I've decided to give you a derogatory nickname," Lumine said.
"Let's call you... the 'singing salesman'!" Paimon suggested.
"Singing salesman?" Takarou repeated, laughing at Paimon's remark.
Upon hearing Paimon's words, Lumine and Takarou burst into laughter.
"Alright, Lumine and Paimon, now that you're here, take a look at the comics," Takarou suggested.
"Takarou, do you know us?" Lumine became cautious when Takarou mentioned their names.
After all, Lumine didn't know Takarou, but he seemed to know them.
"Defeating Stormterror has made you quite famous in Mondstadt," Takarou explained. "So, I know your names. It's only natural, right?"
"I see," Lumine replied.
"Takarou, Takarou, is it true that we can get rewards just by reading comics here?" Paimon asked eagerly, flying up to Takarou.
"That's right. In my comic store, you can get rewards simply by reading comics," Takarou confirmed.
"What kind of rewards do you have, Takarou? Can you tell me?" Paimon asked.
"A few days ago, Jean, the leader, read a comic here and got a spirit companion. You've seen it, right?" Takarou responded.
"Yes, we have. That spirit companion is powerful, even stronger than Paimon," Lumine commented.
"Hey, Lumine, I'm not a battle spirit. I'm a guide!" Paimon retorted.
"And emergency food," Lumine added.
"Oh, come on, Lumine! You're making fun of me! It's so frustrating! I'll give you a nickname too!" Paimon grumbled.
Lumine was right; Paimon's current strength was not impressive. After all, her power was only one-fifth that of a wild boar. Whether she would become stronger in the future was yet to be seen.
"In my comic store, you can receive many rewards, but what rewards you get is not up to me; it depends on your luck," Takarou explained.
"Then, Takarou, what comics do you have here?" Lumine inquired.
"On the shelf, we have Doraemon and Digimon," Takarou replied.
"Doraemon? Digimon?" Lumine repeated.
"Takarou, can you recommend something for us? Which comic should we read?" Lumine asked.
"In Digimon, it's easy to obtain spirits similar to the ones Jean obtained," Takarou informed.
"And in Doraemon, you can easily obtain things like gourmet tablecloths, magnifying lamps, capsule apartments, and more," he continued.
"Gourmet tablecloth? You just need to say what you want to eat, and the food will appear," Takarou explained.
"Magnifying lamps..." Before Takarou could finish, Paimon's eyes lit up.
"Lumine, I want to read Doraemon! If I get the gourmet tablecloth, we can have any food we want wherever we go!" Paimon exclaimed excitedly.
Lumine agreed with Paimon's suggestion. After all, when they were out in the wilderness, they could occasionally find boar meat if they were lucky. But when luck was not on their side, they had to rely on Sunsettias and Sweet Flowers to satisfy their hunger.
Having a gourmet tablecloth would be extremely convenient!
"Well, Takarou, both Paimon and I will read Doraemon," Lumine decided.
"Alright, you two. It will cost 20,000 Mora in total, and you can only read it once a day," Takarou informed.
"Oh, we have to pay?" Paimon sighed, realizing that she had no money.
20,000 Mora wasn't expensive, and if they really obtained the gourmet tablecloth, it would be worth it. They could eat whatever they wanted wherever they were.
"Here, Takarou. Here's 20,000 Mora," Lumine offered, realizing that Paimon didn't have any money.
"Alright, there are seats available over there. You can sit down," Takarou said, pointing to a corner.
Lumine and Paimon went to the bookshelf and grabbed a copy of Doraemon. They found a spot to sit and began reading together.
"Takarou, are you from the same otherworldly place as Lumine and me?" Venti asked Takarou in a hushed voice, noticing Lumine and Paimon engrossed in the comic.
"In the vast world, there are many dimensions. Lumine and I are not from the same dimension," Takarou replied, shaking his head.
Before he came here, he was in the three-dimensional world, while Lumine and Paimon were from the two-dimensional world. Naturally, they were not from the same world.
"I see," Venti said.
"In that case, Takarou, I'll take my leave," Venti said. He had no money to read the comics, and even if he did, he would probably spend it on wine.
Now that he had brought two customers to Takarou's store, he only needed three more to receive the wine promised by Takarou. He needed to work a little harder.
