Rapid Progress

(In the early morning)

Loki set up a a table and two chairs in the store, knowing that a lot of people would want to meet him and get a pokemon. He was going to personally interview some people until he was bored.

Funnily enough, he was not bored at all.

"Boss, I would like to buy a pokemon. Please name the price." One wealthy merchant said.

"Pokemon are living beings with emotions. They are not merchandise to be sold. Get lost, fat bastard."

"Boss, I want a pokemon as a friend and family. I promise to take care of them." One Fatui agent, disguised as an ordinary Liyue civilian, said.

Loki was amazed at the audacity of this band of theives. They tried to break into his house just yesterday and today, this Fatui agent stood before him and tried to deceive him openly.

He considered to make her disappear. But since this Fatui did not have any ill intent towards pokemon and she was only following orders, Loki decided to spare her life.

"Get lost, Fatui scum. I will let you leave since I am feeling generous today. If you ever set foot on my house again, i will make you experience hell on earth."

Hearing his threats, the Fatui agent didn't even defend herself and ran away without looking back.

"Boss, please give me a pokemon. I will love and care for them like my own child." One ordinary civilian said.

Loki nodded his head in approval. This man knew what he wanted to hear so he decided to interview him.

"Before I fulfill your request, tell me one thing. Why do you want a pokemon? Is it fascination, or curiosity, or something else?"

"I gather woods in the wild everyday. If I have a pokemon with me, they can help me with my work. They can also protect me if I encounter wild animals or other monsters." The man honestly answered.

Loki admired his honesty but it didn't manage to convince him. "And what will you do when your pokemon is taken by some unsavory bastard?"

After a lot of pondering, the man answered with a defeated voice. "I will report to the Millelith."

"I see. So you want your pokemon to protect you when you are in danger but are not willing to step forward when they are in danger."

"What can a powerless mortal like me even do? I can barely fend for myself. This is the entire reason I want a pokemon. To be self-reliant."

The man tried to plead with his conscience. But it would never work on him.

"I am sorry. While I understand your position, I am not going to give a pokemon to someone who does not even have the courage to protect them."

The man could only leave the Pokemon Studio, disappointed with the outcome.

"Boss, I want to have a pokemon. I promise to treat them as my equal. I will help them and they will help me. We will be best friends as well as sworn brothers." One enthusiastic martial artist said.

This martial artist fit all the requirement that Loki had placed forward. He was willing to treat pokemon like his friend and was able to protect them as well.

Loki would have given him a pokemon, if only Voir didn't read his thought and knew he was lying. In the end, the man was thrown out of the Studio with a grave warning to never return.

There was also one audacious but clever woman. Knowing that it was extremely difficult to convince Loki, she decided to use her charm on him. Or perhaps, she was just a golddigger.

"Hello, handsome. I fell in love with you at first sight. I don't want any pokemon. I just want you. Is there any way we can get to know each other?"

Loki was amused. He had already expected this kind of situation but when someone really tried to use their charm to get to him, he could not help but laugh loudly.

Needless to say, that woman was immediately driven out by Frost and Magica.

Their exact words were, "If we are going to have a mistress, it should at least be an honourable lady."

Loki could only shake his head and remind them. "I am not interested in humans in the first place so get your mind out of the gutter. You have been reading too much Shoujo manga."

A similar situation happened soon after.

A wealthy tycoon from Liyue was fascinated with pokemon. But the problem was, he didn't want just any pokemon, he wanted Voir.

"Beautiful and elegant lady. Will you take this ring and become my other half for life? I promise to treat you like a queen and be at your beck and call everyday."

That man knelt down before Voir and proposed to her with a beautiful ring, in their First Meeting nonetheless.

Everyone would have thrown such a person out from the store, but they couldn't and wouldn't because this man was really speaking from the bottom of his heart. He was really infatuated with Voir and wanted to marry her.

Loki and Joker immediately began to roll on the floor laughing. They laughed so hard that they feared their 'lungs' would burst apart.

On the other hand, the female residents looked at Voir and the man, and waited for the upcoming drama with an intense gaze.

Of course, the outcome was already obvious to everyone.

Voir rejected the man mercilessly and he immediately broke down into tears and sobs.

Even if this man left heartbroken, Loki knew that he was a threat to this world. He made a mental note to keep an eye on this man lest he make a move on another pokemon when the worlds merge.

After interviewing over a dozen people, Loki finally had enough fun.

He posted a notice on the storefront. If someone wanted to get a pokemon, they have to now fill out a form. Frost, Voir, Rene, Magica, Dusk and Rotom will then filter out the people and perform the initial interview. Then they will present the name of the people who passed to Loki, or they will make the final decision themselves.

This system was immediately implemented, and Loki was able to move onto his other responsibilities.

He called Ningguang on the pokedex and and confirmed that she had made the preparation for both the factories and the hospitals.

He gathered a small group of 3Chansey, 1Blissey and 2Audino, and went to the hospital. Shaymin was also accompanying him. She was sitting on his head and observing the streets of Liyue from a high vantage point.

It took a few minutes for their group to reach the hospital. Ningguang was waiting for them there. Loki had a brief conversation with her as the nurses got used to their new workplace. All of them seemed to fit right in.

After making a few more arrangements for guarding the hospital and handing out recruitments notice, Loki, Ningguang and Shaymin left for another place.

They reached the factories, which will manufacture various pokemon products in the future. Loki didn't really inspect the factories and only gave a rudimentary glance since he trusted Ningguang. He then sent hundreds of formulas to her pokedex.

Ningguang was once again amazed by the utility of pokedex as they left to complete their last job for the day.

Ningguang brought Loki and Shaymin to a hillside near Mount Tianheng. There was a large dedicated piece of land where she had arranged for people to plant the berries.

"This is the the place." She spoke.

Loki nodded his head in response. "Shaymin, you are up."

The small pokemon with grass-like fur, jumped from his head and landed on the ground. She wandered the open field for a few seconds until she found a place that seemed to satisfy her.

"Shayy." She cried out as she absorbed a large amount of elemental particles from the surroundings. Her body soon glowed faintly as a green colored ring spread out from her and touched the surrounding area.

(Grassy Terrain)

Under the shower of this dendro elements (Grass-type energy), the plants began to grow rapidly and colorful flowers began to bloom. The berry seeds, that were just planted yesterday, also sprouted from the ground and began to grow rapidly.

The green shower lasted for a nearly a minute. Ningguang watched in shock and amazement at the fascinating scene as Shaymin danced around the field, sharing her powers with the plants.

"..Beautiful..." She muttered. When the magical scene ended, she was visibly disappointed.

She looked around. The once bare field had turned completely green. The shrubs and flowers covered the ground with a few berry trees and fruit trees spread around.

After completing her duty, Shaymin ran towards Loki and jumped into his embrace. Loki began to pat her back lovingly.

"Good work, Shaymin." The small pokemon cried out in joy. Loki had a smile as he approached Ningguang.

"So, what do you think? Isn't my Shaymin amazing?" He asked. She immediately nodded her head in agreement.

"She is indeed amazing." She spoke. Both Loki and Shaymin smiled even more brightly.

"Then I will travel around Liyue with Shaymin for a few days and spread the berry trees. I hope you will assist my friends in the meantime."

Over the next few days, Loki and Shaymin travelled to various places around Liyue, planting and nurturing berry trees. By the time they were done, the wilderness of Liyue was filled with thousands of berry trees.

Liyue was finally ready to welcome the advent of the pokemon.

Of course, with the berries naturally found in the wild, he will have to decrease their price in his store. But he had never cared about making mora from selling berries, so he did not give it much thought.

While Loki was having a leisurely stroll around Liyue, the residents of the Pokemon Studio were extremely busy since the number of customers increased rapidly.

The Millelith, arranged by Ningguang, quickly stepped in and helped with maintaining order.

Over the span of a few days, the Pokemon Studio gave out hundreds of pokemon. Most of the people who passed the criteria and got a pokemon were the Millelith and established Martial Artists.

Since Loki was absent, the task of choosing the pokemon was left to the Gacha, implemented and managed by Joker, the self-proclaimed RNG God.

A few of the new pokemon trainers also bought a pokedex, despite their high price. Some wealthy merchant, who did not get a pokemon, also wanted to buy pokedex but they were refused.

On the other hand, the cheap mangas, novels, guidebooks about pokemon, and some other products, became famous among the common people, who could not get a pokemon nor afford the other expensive things the store sold.

A week passed in this way and the situation in the Pokemon Studio finally calmed down.

The number of people applying for a pokemon didn't decrease but the number of people who passed were beginning to show a rapid decline.

After learning that the Pokemon Studio was not busy anymore, Loki happily ended his leisurely stroll with Shaymin and returned to Liyue Harbor.

As he walked through the streets of Liyue with Shaymin on his head, the two of them were able to see a lot of pokemon accompanying their human partners.

The people of Liyue accepted the existence of pokemon very well. Especially since the crime rate decreased significantly with the addition of pokemon in the ranks of Millelith.
