Lunari Thomas: Unfolding Secrets Part 2

Lunari heaved a deep sigh when Penelope immediately hung up after saying what she wanted to say. She's the type of woman who doesn't give a damn about her employees. If she wants something, she'll do anything to get it. Time is gold for her which is why she doesn't like having long conversations nor small talks. She'd rather work than spend time with her daughter.

"You never change," Lunari mumbled as she stared at her phone screen.

Then she suddenly remembered Penelope's old videos with Manuel and said, "Perhaps, you've changed," then slid her phone in her coat's pocket.

She ejected the flashdrive from her laptop and put it in the pocket inside her coat. Her mind wouldn't be at peace until she had checked all the folders in the drive but for now, she must go to Deviant and see Penelope.

Immediately, she left her house and drove her car. All she could think of was the child who looks like Pharis. She doesn't want to say that they are twins until everything is proven.

But if ever her conclusions are correct, where could this kid be?

When she arrived in the building, the employees greeted her but she was too occupied to notice them. She headed to the elevator and tapped the top floor in the touchscreen button which is the fifth floor.

And then she arrived at the fifth floor. She noticed that only a few of Penelope's guards were there which is quite unusual. Usually, her guards will stay in the hallway and check for the visitor's identity and belongings.

She went straight to Penelope's office but when she's about to enter the slightly open sliding door, she heard a conversation that took her interest, making her stop to eavesdrop.

Penelope is having a conversation with a man and that man is Gabriel Del Valle and Lunari knows him because they both work for Deviant.

"Do you expect me to believe that?" Penelope asked.

"I swear. What I am saying is true," the man replied.

"Okay fine. Tell me about it."

Gabriel heaved a deep sigh and took an envelope inside his suitcase which Penelope immediately took.

"Remember this child I told you about before? The one my brother and his wife adopted," Gabriel continued as he watched Penelope open the envelope with an interesed look in her face.

Penelope obviously want this over immediately.

"I told you before I had a hint that she's one of your daughters that's why I took her in after my brother and his wife died," he stated.

Penelope looked at the photos of a kid with a black jet hair and a cute smile. She looks like Pharis but she can tell that they are different kids.

She raised her eyebrows as she looked at all the photographs.

"Then when I went home yesterday, I found out that the kid fled from home and she almost killed my wife. My wife and daughter said that she looked scary as her eyes started to light up as if she's not a human," Gabriel said.

"Are you sure about what you were saying?" Penelope said, leaning her chin on the back of her hands.

"You know that I wouldn't lie to you," Gabriel replied as he stared at the woman's face. He couldn't read her expression because it's too cold. "And besides, you know that they've met once right? It is possible that Manuel hid her from you which means he knows about your plans."

Penelope leaned in her swivel chair's headrest and looked at the ceiling as thoughts ran through her mind.

"I never thought that my husband, Manuel would lie to me," she said without expressing any emotion. "It doesn't matter now though. He's already dead."

"Anyway, take this," she threw the envelope in front of Gabriel and said, "There is a more important joh we should do."

The woman doesn't seem to care about what Gabriel said because she has other things in mind.

"Are we going to find her?" Gabriel asked.

Penelope laughed because of what he said. "What are you talking about? I wouldn't waste our time in unnecessary things," she grin and think about her future plans.

Gabriel frown, confused with what she said. "Didn't you say that Pharis doesn't have an ability? That means you need your other child to fullfill your goals." he asked causing Penelope to smile widely.

"Well… that's what I thought," she said and beamed.

"What do you mean?" puzzled, Gabriel asked.

Penelope chuckled before answering, "Well just recently I found out that she's been hiding her power from me. And if Manuel really knows about my plans, then he must've told Pharis not to tell me anything."

Gabriel's eyes widened, "Really? Where is she now?"

"In he basement where she's meant to be," Penelope casually said.

Meanwhile, Lunari who's listening to their conversation couldnt help but be shocked because of what she heard.

She's astounded to know that Pharis has a power and couldn't help but grit her teeth because of the things she have realized upon listening to the conversation of the two.

Back then when Lunari was trying to take Pharis's custody, Penelope refused and that's not because she cared about her daughter. She only wanted to keep her because she's hiping that Pharis has a power although it sounds unbelievable to Lunari, it seems to her that it is the truth.

Lunari know what kind of experiments Penelope does and she have turned blind to iit ever since. She knows that Deviant is performing human experiments but now thinking that Pharis will be part of that project to, she feels so guilty. She can't let Penelope use Pharis and watch her die. This time, for his love Manuel, she will protect Pharis at all cost and find her missing twin.

She just couldn't believe that Penelope would use her daughter like this. She's so horrible!

Lunari wanted to go to the basement but she remembered that Penelope called her because there is something she wanted her to do. She closed her eyes tightly and just hopes that it's not what she thinks.
