Lunari Thomas: Her Regrets

Before the two find out that she's listening to their conversation, Lunari immediately leaves and rides the elevator. She knows that soon, Penelope will find out that she listened to their conversation through the surveillance team and who knows what the woman will do to her knowing what she has done to her own daughter.

Lunari knows where exactly the kids are kept and she must go there now. This is the right time to make things right. She must let Pharis know about everything she found out so far although she might hate her because she took part in this project.

She thought that even if she dies today, it will be okay because until the end, she has done everything for the people she loves.

When she got out of the elevator and reached the ground floor, a lot of employees greeted her but she just gave them an awkward smile. The employees find it unusual to see her like this because she's the type of person who greets everyone.

Meanwhile, all Lunari can think of is to hurry and don't look back as she notices that some of Penelope's men are looking at her. That moment, she already knows that they are suspicious of her. Sooner or later they will catch her so she immediately runs towards a hallway.

She touched her coat pocket and sighed in relief because the flash drive was still there.

Now her plan is to let all the kids out and give the flash drive to Pharis. It will be useless to call the police because they will just reverse it back to her.

Finally, she reached the door that will lead her to the stairs to the basement. She looked around her and used her Deviant card to open the door but to her dismay, the door vibrated.

[Access denied]

She tried it again but her card wouldn't work.

The system wouldn't let her get in and that's what she fears. Penelope already knows what she's going to do.

"Shit," she cursed and pulled her own hair in frustration then a fire extinguisher caught her attention.

It is inside a glass container that is stuck on the wall. She look at her stilettos and immediately took it to smash the glass.

She didn't think twice and hit the glass as hard as she could. It didn't break the first try so she smashed it several times until it broke. She immediately took the fire extinguisher and bore its heaviness. She used the fire extinguisher to break the door but it wouldn't.

"Please, work," she pleaded and smashed it continuously regardless of how tired she was.

The emergency lights lit as a sign that something's happening and will soon close down the whole building so no one can escape.

Lunari ignored it and continued banging the door until the lock was broken. She smiled and opened the door forcefully then she saw the stairs that would lead her to the basement.

She stopped there and hid in the wall because she saw two men guarding the door. She heaved a deep sigh and looked at the fire extinguisher in her hands then back to the men again.

Without making any noise, she pulled its pin and got ready to aim at the enemy. She let out a long sigh and squeezed the lever after aiming at the guards. The off guard men shoot their guns a lot of times but Lunari used the wall to hide her body. She didn't stop aiming at them until the two lost their consciousness.

Lunari knew that the effect wouldn't last long so she immediately ran, took a gun from the men, and entered the door.

She held her gun tightly and got ready to aim for anyone who would pop out in front of her. She used the pillars to hide her petite body as she looked around.

And then when the area was cleared, she prepared to enter the next door. She's sure that they already know that she's here but they wouldn't leave their post to guard the children. They know what the kids are capable of and they can't just take their eyes off them.

She took that chance to give them a surprise attack by slamming the door and shooting them non-stop. She closed her eyes as she continued to aim.

"She's here!"

"Don't let her live! Fire!"

The guards returned bullets so she immediately hid her body in the wall. She closed her eyes tightly as she wished that she wouldn't die yet. She must save Pharis and gave her the flash drive.

She touched her pocket and heaved a deep sigh. The truth lies here and it shouldn't be kept forever. Lunari knows that Manuel would want her daughters to find each other.

She must do her best until the end for the man she loves.

Then suddenly a memory popped in her head. The memory that she has always kept even after he died.

"Ehh Luna!"

Lunari looked around and saw Manuel, running towards her happily. She couldn't help but to blush as she watched him. He almost tripped himself because of his clumsiness causing her to laugh.

"You are such a wimp, Manuel," she grinned to annoy him. The man blushed in embarrassment.

"Why is this rock here anyway," he said and kicked it but ended up hurting his toe causing her to giggle.

Manuel stared at her and smiled, "It's been awhile since we last saw each other. I can't believe you're back. You're the first friend I've had here."

"Well, leaving the country made me sad, that's why I am back. How are you doing? What do you do for a living?" She asked continuously because she longed for this man so much. But there is another question she wanted to ask most…

"So, do you have a girlfriend yet?" She asked hesitantly as she hoped that he doesn't have one but her heart throbbed when she saw Manuel's reaction.

His eyes are glistening and his face is blushing while he couldn't remove the beam in his face. And his answer broke her heart in tiny pieces.

"Actually, I'm already married!"

Lunari came too late because he already met another girl. A very smart and beautiful girl, Penelope. Lunari's greatest regret was rejecting him before and leaving to study abroad. She was foolishly in love with him yet she left because she doesn't trust his love for her.

And now that she chose to come back, he's already married to someone else. If she can only go back to the past, she wouldn't have left him.
