Chapter 28: The Feeding Frenzy
The tension in the mansion's main hall was palpable. George stood at the center of the room, arms crossed, as the voices around him grew louder, more frantic.
"They're turning! It's just a matter of time before we all get infected!" shouted Will, his face flushed with anger. He paced near the fireplace, gesturing wildly. "We've already lost one person, and now more are showing signs. What the hell are we waiting for? We need to burn them. All of them."
"No one's burning anyone," Marcy snapped, standing tall near the back of the room. Her voice cut through the noise, sharp and determined. "We aren't animals, and we don't kill people based on fear."
Will spun on his heel, glaring at her. "What's your plan, then? Wait until they turn and come after us? Is that it?"
"We quarantine them," Marcy replied, crossing her arms. "Dr. Erica and Dr. Acker are working on a solution. We need to buy them time."
