Chapter 2

It's a rainy night and a young man in his early 20's is walking trough the rain with an umbrella in his right hand and a bag on his left. He looks very tired and depressed.

'What do I need? Food, water, coffee, and cigar. I guess that's it'

With that the man entered a convenience store at the end of the street. After he got everything that he needs, he then went to the cashier.

"Is there anything else you want to add sir?

"No thanks"

"The total is $10, would you like a bag?"

"No thanks I bring my own bag"

'Damn a bag cost $1 thank God I brought my own'

Yes right now he got some money problem because his father just got laid off and his mother wage doesn't meet ends, and he is on his fourth year of college but because of his scores from the years before he cannot graduate yet and he does not want to be a burden to his parents so he told his parents that he got a job before graduate so he can pay off his own tuition fee, but the truth is he work 2 part-time jobs at a local café and dinner he only make a little bit more than his tuition and the rest is for his living expense thankfully he when he just entered college his parent bought him an apartment for his days as an university student so he doesn't need to pay rent.

"Here you go"

"Thanks here is your receipt. Have a good evening"

"Thanks, you too"

After he paid for his needs he then see a beautiful girl on the window of the convenience store. He then get out of the store and call the girl. "Gleda!" the girl turns to the back and noticed him then she smile with the sweetest smile he have ever seen, then he thought to himself 'damn this girl I haven't see her for only two days and she already gave me a heart attack'

"Oh it's you senior! how do you do?"

"I'm fine how about you? did you finish the assignment for professor William?"

"Yes I'm fine and yes I have just finished it earlier at the school library"

"Damn you finished it already? then I need to do it faster so I don't lose to my junior!"

"Haha, senior you don't have to rush it. It's just that I was just so bor-"

*Cough cough*

"Hey Gleda! you okay? you don't need to push yourself, I know it is boring if you just stayed at home. With your sickness and this rain will only make you more sick than before"

"It's okay senior Ezra. You don't need to worry about me, this is my choice anyways, and it's boring being cooped up at home and listen to my mother's nagging"

"Anyways if you need any help just call me I will do my best to help you"

"Really senior? then will you treat me dinner? I see you just bought your groceries, cook for me!"

"Okay it's not a big deal come with me to my apartment!"

'Oh sh*t, the girl I like will come to my apartment to have a meal'

Ezra felt excitement trough out his whole body because this is the first time Gleda went to visit his apartment. Yes he like Gleda on first sight when he is working at the café that he work part-time then when his shift end he come to her table to give a coffee for free and get to know her. From there he knows that she is his junior at the university taking the same major, then from there on they get into contact with each other.

Gleda is a beautiful but sickly looking woman, she is 19 years-old only 3 years younger than him. When she is little she got a an unknown disease that makes her body got sick easily. Even with her weak body she is always craving for adventure she told him that her dreams are to climb the mount Everest the highest mountain in the whole world and to travel the world, every time she talks about her dreams she always have that lights in her eyes. And those lights make him like her more and more.

In his mind Ezra always thought to take care of her for the rest of his life.

When they walk on the way to Ezra's apartment they talk about what they have been doing for the past days. And when they about to cross the road in the corner of his eye Ezra saw a car heading toward them in a high speed and before he could react the car is already near them. He then pushed Gleda so that the car doesn't hit her. The last thing he want is to watch the girl he like to die in front of him.
