The Dark Woods.
"Damn! This is infuriating!"
Aziel screams, the echo of his voice decorates the lifeless trail and the lonely buzzing chirp of crickets.
He is frustrated because, currently, he is lost inside this damp forest. Being lost in the woods spells trouble. Especially now that Aziel is just getting used to his new body.
In the dappled moonlight amid the boughs and strong risen roots, Aziel could feel a spark of warm breeze weave towards him. It made him annoyed; he felt like it has been following him in every turn he made.
Not only that, but what made him feel even more frustrated is that Deman's belly would bounce in every step he took, and his feet felt heavy. He is right to call it infuriating. It has gone above the level of frustration.
Then, while treading halfheartedly to who knows where? His feet felt a prick; He stepped unto something.
*Crackle!*
"And now what?!"
Looking at his feet below, Aziel noticed something.
He saw a tiny critter crawling up to his leg.
"A Fallen... Fallen! Demon! Demon! Demon!"
The critter repeatedly mocks him after seeing him take a peek at him once.
"Whose bastard—??? !!!"
Surprised that the critter suddenly spoke, Aziel is taken aback! He stumbles to the ground with his butt planted heavily atop the patch of grass. It took him a while before he realized what the critter had called him.
'What demon?! I'm an Angel!'
is what Aziel would like to retort, but the words were stuck in his tongue.
He shrugged his head in annoyance,
"What is it that you want! Ghoul."
It turns out that the tiny critter is a ghoul—A ghoul taking the shape of a white wolf.
"Hmm... What a surprise! I am sure I have smelled a corpse nearby. It looks like I did find one, but you! A demon is now inhabiting it. Lucky me..."
The white wolf's jaws opened as it grins, imitating a smile, but instead of looking pleasant, it looked sinister.
"You... How dare you!"
Aziel felt insulted. He thought that his self-worth had degenerated too low, to the point that even a ghoul would think of him as easy prey.
In response, the ghoul hissed as it started to crouch, putting itself in a defensive stance against any possible attack! It bared its canine teeth, and its fangs grew sharper.
Yet Aziel simply shrugged,
"Begone Ghoul or forever perish! You think of me as food huh?!"
He is not intimidated by the ghoul, as he solemnly warns. And he would like to teach this ghoul a lesson.
Thus, a fight commences.
Seeing the flick of Aziel's eyes grew red from anger, the ghoul immediately leaped from the ground. It attacks with its fangs, aiming to bite Aziel's flesh away, which Aziel easily dodges despite his flabby appearance.
His breathing was still heavy, unfit for battle while the ghoul is relentless in its pursuit. Trying to satisfy its craving lust of eating Deman's body, the ghoul uses its claws.
"This pesky ghoul!"
Aziel could not help but curse out.
'Alright, alright, alright! I thought it would be easy...'
Aziel admitted to himself. He felt grim, disappointed in himself. A puny pesk made fun of him and he can't even teach it a lesson? Tonight is bound to be a self-pity night.
"Hey! No one told me that this body is too heavy! Damn you Deman! Just so you fucking see! I will regain my former glory! This type of body is unacceptable for me."
Aziel blabbers to himself and by this time, the ghoul is starting to lose its initial interest as it asks,
"Say... Are you really a demon?"
First, it was a mockery of his being, next was a question of what he is. After that was dealing a blow to Aziel, and in the end, it results in Aziel being extremely agitated.
"You won't have to see the next day... ghoul."
Aziel now had to adjust his goal,
'I swear, I would want to reserve my energy but this stupid...'
Once again, curses filled his thoughts as Aziel witnesses the ghoul leap with its mighty front paws. He identified and prepares for the attack in real-time.
When the ghoul is about to strike once again, he is prepared to remove it out from existence.
He tore off his baggy clothes with his left hand while grabbing the ghoul on its tail with his right hand. He slammed his shoulder into the ghoul's chest and bent down while putting his toes in his field of view.
His fat-bellied body that was curled up below the ghoul contained extreme elasticity. The moment he straightened his knees, he shot forward like a raging animal in distress.
It went beyond the metaphor of 'know who you are fighting' If the ghoul hadn't asked him that way, perhaps Aziel would have been lenient with it.
Blood flows from the ghoul's cheeks. The movement of Aziel is slow and steady, yet the ghoul failed to react in time.
It was the countless experience of Aziel in delivering Divine punishment to the mortals that are acting on their own. Even with his unfamiliar and untrained body, he managed to inflict the most damage he could in a single sweeping motion.
The ghoul just vaguely saw it. Apart from the hurl, the blinding dark flames that erupted from the hands of Aziel had distracted him. He just felt a blur before finally, his consciousness faded.
The ghoul died not knowing what truly happened. He turned gray as its ashes disperse like specks of dust in fine air.
Finishing the ghoul, a smile rose from Aziel's lips.
"The pesk is now eliminated. Whose the demon now? hehe"
It has been a while since he felt fulfilled. He gazes at the far distance, excited to meet Larra.
