(Lancel POV)
The next day, Oberyn and Ser Arthur ask me to teach them the Old Tongue, I have no choice but to teach them the basics of the language. They both start conversations with Harl to try to understand what he says.
"It's hard to learn this language" Oberyn tells me with a frown.
"At least we know a few words" Ser Arthur tells us with a sigh
"We continue" I tell them while I teach them other words
Three days later, they are at level 2 of the language, at that moment I hear Oberyn ask Harl what I told him the day I introduced them, at the moment I feel cold sweat running down my back
"That you are a sadist" Harl answers him seriously.
"Why didn't you teach me that word?" Oberyn asks me not understanding Harl's answer. At the moment I am relieved not to teach them all the words
"It means a good fighter" I reply with all possible seriousness in my eyes
"Then I am a great <<sadist (fighter)>>" Oberyn tells us with evident pride in his face
"You are, Master" I tell him with a laugh, it was hard for me to stop laughing
"I think it doesn't mean that" Ser Arthur comments after seeing Harl's reaction
"He's weird" Harl tells me pointing to Oberyn
"That I am...?" Oberyn asked me not understanding Harl
"Amazing" I say with a poker face
"Of course I'm <<weird (amazing)>>" Oberyn tells us with a haughty look.
Harl just shakes his head as he hears Oberyn and sees the look on his face. I cover my mouth with one hand so I don't laugh out loud again.
Halleck asks me to go hunting with him, I immediately go with him, while Oberyn and Ser Arthur stay talking with Harl
The next day, during the night I looked at Halleck who was nervous. You could almost feel in him a tension too similar to fear, I shared that unease with him. Well, I began to notice an icy mist that was coming towards the village
"Tonight there is something different" Oberyn tells us because the darkness had a hue that made our hair stand on end.
As time passed, we noticed that a cold wind was blowing from the north, in the stores the whisper of the movement they made was heard. All night we felt watched, watched by something cold and implacable that did not wish us anything good for all of us in the store
"I don't like this weather" Ser Arthur commented looking at the cold mist
The dogs moved restlessly near the shops, and I thought that it may be time for the Others to attack this village.
"Halleck, light torches, and wake up your wife" I say him with seriousness on my face
Stars began to appear in the sky and a half moon, since the density of the fog is very light.
"Get ready" I tell them when I feel a hand on my right ankle. The next moment I take out my sword and cut off the hand, I walk two steps away and look at the hand still on my ankle, I crouch down and let go of the hand, suddenly a body appears in the middle of the snow and attacks us
Oberyn stares at him for a moment before attacking him with a blow to the head. The specter falls and rises again headless
"Only with fire can you kill them" I tell him taking the torch and setting it on fire
Suddenly we hear wails coming from other places, Ser Arthur runs in that direction with Oberyn and I following his step
Upon arrival we see wildlings running towards us with specters coming after them. Ser Arthur initiates the attack against the wraiths, but only manages to slow them down, not completely destroy them. Oberyn and I join forces against the wraith while I tell a wildling to bring us torches.
We are joined in combat by Mance Ryder, Styr, Tormund, and Halleck, as Sigorn brings two torches and sets fire to each specter we defeat.
Jarl approaches with more wildlings and brings a torch in each hand and starts giving orders to set fire to the wraiths.
At the far end of the village, it suddenly falls silent and we can't make out anything.
"Tell them to remove the children, and to protect them in a place" Mance tells Jarl, he immediately goes out to carry out the orders
"What are these things?" Oberyn asks me after burying his spear in a wraith's forehead
"They are Specters, people who died and are used by the Others to attack living people" I answer him cutting off the head of a Specter
"They are slow, but they attack in numbers" Ser Arthur tells us, as we see a blue-eyed bear attacking Oberyn
Oberyn dodges and stabs him with the spear, and it goes through the bear's foreleg, the bear moves its paw to the side and sends Oberyn's body to the side. The bear runs towards Oberyn's body trying to kill him, Ser Arthur runs after the bear and cuts off its left leg with a slash.
The bear looks at Ser Arthur and tries to bite him, I take a torch and throw it into the animal's mouth, it catches fire immediately, as if it had gasoline in its body
Val joins the fight and walks over to Ser Arthur to fight by his side, I shake Oberyn's hand and help him to his feet.
"That was close" Oberyn tells me rubbing his head
"We must be more careful" I tell him, and with my spiritual sense I notice a pack of wolves coming towards us
"We need more torches" I say to Mance Ryder
"Bring more torches" Mance tells some savages
Then we see a pack of 12 wolves with blue eyes approaching with quick steps. The wolves attack a nearby wildling and tear him to shreds with their fangs.
Oberyn, Val, Ser Arthur and I form a circle to protect ourselves from the wolves, as they surround us to attack us. A savage runs towards us with a torch in his hands, the next moment we see how a bird of prey attacks him destroying his right eye, it falls to the ground and a wolf runs to bite his neck
Oberyn impales a wolf in the chest, another nearby wolf runs to bite Oberyn's left leg, Ser Arthur slashes his head off. Val throws a blade into the right leg of a wolf that was running towards Ser Arthur. I stuck the sword in the head of a wolf that attacked me head-on
Three savages run towards us with torches in their hands and drive the wolves back, then set fire to the wolves we cut to pieces
Suddenly we notice a tremor, I look behind me and see a mammoth running towards us. It comes to mind how Legolas defeats a beast of this size, but in this case it will be difficult, because this mammoth is a specter and does not feel pain
We all run in different directions, but I am chasing a savage who has a torch and ask the savage to give me his spear. I take the spear and wrap pieces of cloth from a nearby tent and set it on fire. Then I march after the mammoth and stick the spear in its buttocks, it immediately catches fire
"That was an accurate shot" Oberyn tells me approaching
"I hope there aren't any more mammoths coming our way" I tell him activating my spiritual sense again. At the edge of my spiritual sense at 150 meters I see 8 giants and three mammoths waiting to go into battle
"We have to light more torches and prepare spears with rags around them" I tell some savages
"Do it" Mance tells them when they don't move, then he walks over to us. I look back at the place where the giants are and I think why they don't attack
"What's happening?" Ser Arthur asks me seeing my nervous reaction in my eyes
"There are giants and mammoths, it seems that they wait for their leader" I tell him with a frown thinking about the possibility that the Others will come
"We should retreat and set up a fire trap to burn them all" Oberyn tells me with a smile. I tell Mance what Oberyn thinks and he tells me that there are not many flammable objects to make a trap in a short time
"At least, you should give an order to retreat, we won't be able to stop the next attack" I say to Mance noticing another pack of wolves and Specters that are approaching the village, as well as dead savages rising with blue eyes
"You have to give them time to withdraw" Mance tells us giving orders for the women to withdraw with their children towards Milkwater
"My hair is standing on end" Tormund tells us with a shiver running down his face
"I'll go with my sister" Val says to Mance, then looks at Ser Arthur "Take care" she says with a nervous smile
"You too" Ser Arthur tells her as he understands the Old Tongue.
See with my spiritual sense, in its full scope, I saw a movement of light shadows sliding through the snow. I widen my spirit sense to his right and see another white shadow in the dark approaching the group. He turns his vision to where I am and instantly disappears. I focus my sense more and I look at him near another shadow with a glass sword, that when he moved the sword in his hand, it was hidden in its surroundings like a transparent material
