18:Chat with Orovada

Zephyr slowly opened his eyes. He could see stars and the dark backdrop of space. His body was floating, still and lifeless.

'Where... am i?'

Turning his body over, he could see a solar system. With the closest planet being a yellow planet, it looked dry and barren with no water or ice due to its close proximity with the sun.

On his far right, he could see the main-sequence star that made up the heart of the solar system. Casting its light over the dark space.

"THIS WAS OUR HOME"

A voice similar to one he heard from the scorant in the mind link screamed at him.

The glowing green eye from before appeared again. Staring directly into Zephyr.

Zephyr meanwhile, could barely even understand what it said. The damage that it would inflict on his mind and soul simply by looking at him made him feel like dying!

"YOU HUMANS WREAKED HAVOC ON IT. TREATING IT LIKE YOUR OWN PLAYGROUND"

Dozens of streams of light condensed into a multitude of space ships,each bearing the prominent logo of the CEA.

The logo was a simple globe of humanity's home planet Earth. Surrounded by several streams of light, indicating that several ships were travelling in warp speed.

7 stars formed a ring around it, each star one of the original founding countries of the CEA.

Among the ships, the largest one there. Slowly flew toward the planet, dragging numerous cargo behind it in open space. One of which Zephyr could see was a giant chunk of ice almost the same size as the ship!

Which was crazy because the ship was at least 20 kilometers long!

"YOUR SHIPS HAVE POISONED THE AIR, MAKING IT INHOSPITABLE FOR US BUT PERFECT FOR YOU"

His vision blacked out and Zephyr found himself in a valley. There, multiple ships were firing setting up mirrors to melt the ice faster.

Looking up, he could see even more ships appear via warp speed. One of them had a purple coloured warp speed, instead of the white. When it condensed, Zephyr could see an alien spaceship, resembling a crystal shard. Glowing in an ominous purple.

Wait actually, how was Zephyr even able to see the ships so clearly? His eye sight was massively enhanced when he became a super but it wasn't strong enough to be able to distinguish ships from the surface of the planet.

Even more important, where was he? Zephyr though he had died when he woke up here only to be lectured by some green eye about what the CEA did.

"THE WATER HAS DONE ONLY HARM TO US.THE TRUE OWNERS OF THIS PLANET. HUMA-

" Does it look like I care?"

Zephyr interrupted it in the middle of its sentence. He had had enough. Why was it pinning the blame on Zephyr? He was forced to come here in the first place! Because of the lockdown from the CEA, none of them were allowed to leave!

"YOU DARE. IT WAS YOU HUMANS WHO DESTROYED OUR HOME. IT WAS YOU HU-

" And I'm not one of those! Look at the damn spaceships will you? They all have the same logo on them! CEA, Common Earth Alliance! I'm not a part of that! I'm a force fighter! And so is everyone else except for maybe UTC and VF. "

"...HOW DO I KNOW YOU ARE SPEAKING THE TRUTH"

Zephyr grabbed his head with his right hand and manipulated his mental energy to make a mind link with himself.

It was a neat little trick where by forming a mind link with himself and then cutting it off while it was in the midst of transferring data. He could basically have a bunch of mental energy that contained whatever info he wanted.

Handing it the mental energy with his memories. He replied to the eye.

" It has my memories on it, you can read it right? After all, you're a psychic too. Orovada. "

"... HOW DID YOU KNOW MY NAME?"

Zephyr had recognised who he was talking with the moment it started going on about how humanity had destroyed their home.

Orovada, likely a higher dimensional being. Similar to the Tide of Violet. Which would explain it's immense strength and how it hurt Zephyr when it just looked at him. His brain was struggling to process what to see. After all, higher dimensional beings were simply too strong and too hard to even fathom for the human brain.

It would also explain how he was so easily killed by a scorant who utilised its power. By himself, Zephyr could take on several dozen scorants at a time and none he had ever fought had utilised the power of Orovada.

Similar to how any member of VF (Violet Flood) would absolutely wipe the floor with him if they ever fought. The strength gained by worshipping a higher dimensional being was too much.

"INTERESTING. YOU SEEM TO BE TELLING THE TRUTH. "

"Yeah, can you let me go back now?"

Silence. The green eye stopped burning Zephyr with its light and in its place a green creature that had the upper body of a scorant and the lower body of a rand worm.

It was a sight that was seared into his brain permanently and not for a good reason. The two creatures already looked straight out of a horror movie but combining the two made then look somehow even more monstrous and disgusting.

"NO. I BROUGHT YOU HERE BECAUSE I ASSUMED YOU WERE A LEADER AND ALSO BECAUSE ONE OF MY FAVOURITES ASKED ME TOO. THE PRICE TO BRING YOU HERE WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO INTERACT WITH NY CHILDREN FOR SEVERAL +&$&"

Hmm. Zephyr grew curious.The manual said that the mind link would perfectly translate everything so he was wondering why he couldn't understand what the scorant had said.

Furthermore, Orovada was also using a mind link with him right now to communicate with him. Except it was also occasionally not working!

"Then what now?"

Orovada clicked it's upper half mandibles and proceeded to do a remarkably similar sigh to one a human would make.

"WE'VE COME TO A DEAL. THE FOUR OF US SHALL GIVE YOU A LITTLE BUT OF TEMPORARY STRENGTH IN EXCHANGE FOR IT, YOU MUST HELP US DEFEAT THIS CEA. "

We? The four of us? Was there multiple higher dimensional beings watching him right now?

Also what deal?! Zephyr never agreed to it!

"Who's we? And when did we agree on this deal!"

"YOU ACCEPTED IN THE FUTURE FORETOLD SO YES. YOU DID ACCEPT IT"

Future foretold? How come it didn't tell them that Zephyr was the innocent one! Or that Zephyr had no intentions of wanting to fight for them!

"I don't want to help you fight the CEA. Besides they have hundreds of billions of people! Plus, they have loads of battleships and their tech is at interstellar level! Most of humanity is still using planetary level tech!"

There was roughly 3 trillion humans combined. Most lived in the Terra Fortuna area, consisting if several solar systems which had planetary level conditions whilr only the ultra wealthy and members of the CEA at interstellar level could live in the Yern Centauri area, consisting of fewer solar systems which had better resources.

The jump between the two technology levels was absolutely massive. In fact Zephyr doubted wether he could kill more then 3 CEA infantry men at his current level. If he was at E- then maybe he stood a better chance but he wasn't.

Interstellar technology was faster, stronger, more durable, better in every single way possible. Nathan had embarrassed then multiple times from throwing rocks and mud but if they really wanted to. They could have killed everyone outnumbered.

"TOO LATE, AND IF YOU TRY TO NOT HELP. THEN YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT I CAN MONITOR YOU THROUGH THE POWDER I GIVE."

It seemed like no one ever listened to Zephyr when he spoke and it was starting to drive him crazy.

"I said I don't want your pow-

Zephyr's refutal was interrupted by his scream of pain. It was so sudden he didn't even have any time to react.

It felt like red hot nails were beeing stabbed into each of his joints. Cracking noises ensued as his bones and skeleteon forcefully readjusted themselves. His hair started shedding and regrowing and Zephyr could feel his muscles destroying and then repairing themselves stronger then before.

If Zephyr could withstand it, he would be able to see that his mind and soul were currently being enveloped by a green energy. Unfortunately, his pain tolerannce was weak. Which wasn't surprising, he had barely ever felt pain upuntil he met Nathan.

Screams of pure agony radiated from Zephyr. His mind and soul were experiencing a similar effect as well. Being damaged and then repaired.

His own brain felt as if it was being struck with lightning! Zephyr dearly wished he knew how to turn off his pain receptors.

Soon however, a mysterious yellow light started to envelope Zephyr and he could feel his pain lessening. The recovery of his body also happened faster except it did nothing about the perversion on his mind and soul!

"HOW COULD YOU SUBJECT HIM TO THIS OROVADA? WE BOTH KNOW HE'S NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HANDLE IT BY HIMSELF"

a distinctly more masculine voice rang out which was weird because Zephyr didn't even know how he could tell when higher dimensional beings didn't even have a gender, or at least the few he knew of didn't have one.

"THIS IS A TRIAL FOR HIM VADOS"

Orovada responded snarkly to what she called Vados, likely another higher dimensional being and one of the four that she mentioned earlier.

"A TRIAL THAT WILL KILL HIM! THE FATE FORETOLD BY VAKOS NEEDS HIM OROVADA"

A yellow light appeared and after a flash, revealed itself to be a Waspero Titan which slight differences. Featuring a giant armoured bug form with six legs, several dozen eyes and a mouth that Zephyr knew could shoot acid.

Seeing wasperos was actually quite nostalgic for Zephyr, it felt like lately he had only ever fought scorants and rand worms.

"YES, AND WE AGREED TO GIVE HIM MY STRENGTH INSTEAD OF ANY OF YOURS. THIS IS HOW I GIVE STRENGTH TO EVERYONE VADOS. IF HE CANNOT BEST THIS TRIAL. HE DOES NOT DESERVE IT. "

Orovada hissed at Vados who screeched at her in return.

"THE HUMAN WOULD HAVE DIED IF I DID NOT STEP IN OROVADA. IF NOT FOR VAKOS AND OROKA TAKING MY PLACE TEMPORARILY. I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COME HELP HIM"

Orovada smacked the floor with her lower half rand worm body.

"IF HE DIES THEN SO BE IT."

Vados seemed to almost scream at Orovada. His massive legs slammed into the floor. A horrible screeching coming out from his mouth.

"THE LIFE OF THE PLANET GIVES US LIFE OROVADA. IF THEY DIE THEN WE DIE. WE ARE NOT LIKE THE OTHERS WHO CAN IGNORE IT AS THEY PLEASE. THE LIFE OF THE CREATURES ON THIS PLANET ARE WHAT MAKE US, US.WE NEED THEM"
