Val is exhausted from the lack of sleep the past few days. So after dinner, she turns in early, but not before telling me: "Be careful around here, okay? I think this place is haunted."
I can understand why she'd think that. The house is dark most of the time, especially in the evenings. And it's too quiet, save by the occasional creaking of wood which I'm sure happens when there's a strong wind. After all, this mansion is old.
That may scare a lot of people, but I'll admit that I actually kind of like it because it reminds me of my family's old mansion where we used to live until it got burned down a few years ago. I sigh to myself, remembering that the Morellis caused that fire.
This is such a complicated situation I put myself in. But I already know that on the first day. There's no use stressing about that now.
