Chapter 6 Chapter six

  ucy's POV

The cold feeling goes all down my back, and I look to Asa. His face is bright red, I can sense his anger from where I am seating. All the girls gasp at what happened, as I turn around to confront my bullies.

"Hi stupid runt, never thought we were going to see you again. But when I smelled your scent, I just had to pay you a visit," Maya says angrily, seemingly not happy that I'm fine.

I cower away, her Alpha power

suffocating me. No! She isn't the alpha of my former pack but the alpha's daughter who is a spoil brat. I bare my

neck as a sign of submission, but Asa steps in front of me and defends me.

"Leave her alone you idiotic, ugly faced bitch. You don't disrespect my mate like that and get away with it," Asa spits at her, reaching behind him to grab my

  hand.

"Oh, so the little runt is also a fag too? This is too good to be true.

Lets go inform the pack of the news, that the rogue is perfectly fine and needs to be taken care of," Maya says as she walks away with Mark following her like a minion he is.

I am still in shock even after she left. She can't tell the pack,

  they'll want me dead!

  They hate me!

I run off and find a bathroom close by, locking myself in there. I hear a knock on the door, and I just whimper.

Asa's voice fills my ears, "Please, love. Let me in."

I unlock the door and open it, looking up at him with tear filled eyes, my cheeks already wet from the tears.

Asa envelopes me into a hug, squeezing tight and making me feel safe. He whispers sweet nothings into my ear, trying to make me feel better. I'm soaking wet and sad, yet Asa makes me feel like everything is okay.

Asa pulls away and wipes away the stray tears on my cheek. "Little mate, you are going to go out there with your head held high. You won't let this get you down, because you are so strong."

I nod determinedly. Asa hands me a new shirt, one that we bought from Hollister. I take off the tag and put it on, glad that I'm no longer wearing a wet piece of clothing.

I make sure my face is dry, and run my hands through my wet, light blonde hair. Pretending like nothing happened, Asa and I walk out of the bathroom hand in

  hand.

We head home straight away, no longer feeling like shopping.

All the girls give me sympathetic gazes. I smile at them, reassuring them that I'm okay.

We reach home and I immediately went upstairs to our bedroom. I almost have an anxiety attack while walking up the stairs, but Asa's hand in mine calms me down slightly.

We arrive at the bedroom and I break away from Aiden to start pacing the room. I'm breathing heavy, my chest hurting. My heart feels like it's going to beat out of my chest.

They know! They know where I am, and that I'm okay. Bad things are going to happen and they are going to happen soon.

Asa tries to talk to me and tell me to calm down, but I just get even more worked up. What are they going to do to Asa? The only person I love?

Finally having enough of standing around and watching me hyperventilate, Asa jumps on me and wraps me in his large arms. I cuddle into his chest, trying to calm my breathing. It's easier when he's close, I feel safe and secure when he's holding me.

Asa whispers, "Everything's going to be okay, love. I can protect you."

I nod, finally calming down. I just want to stay wrapped up in his arms forever, maybe then I will truly be safe.

  Lucy's POV

It's a new day, and it's time for a family breakfast, Asa's arms where around my waist making it difficult for me to get up. Asa grunts at my movements and pulls me closer, giving me a quick kiss on the forehead. I blush and stop moving, in shock that he showed so much affection.

Asa hasn't shown much affection, probably taking this relationship slowly, for me. I feel bad for making him wait but I'm just not ready to go farther.

Finally able to maneuver my way out of Asa's grasp, I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth. I look into the mirror and see my white blonde hair hanging slightly over my eyes, needing a haircut.

My freckles are dusted over mny nose and cheeks, my pale skin making them stand out.

Asa soon joins me in the bathroom, also brushing his teeth.

He also stares at himself, probably thinking about how hot he is.

His green eyes are striking, his tan skin complementing them. His medium brown hair a perfect mix between his parents'.

We walk out of the bathroom and head to the large kitchen, the rest of Asa's family already there.

I sit in my usual seat as Asa insists on getting my plate for me.

He comes back with waffles and bacon, looking so delicious.

Ella is the first to talk, "Yesterday was fun, except when that girl ruined it. Do you like all your clothes?"

I nod, thankful that they bought me clothes. I haven't had a new change of clothes since I was thirteen. Feeling safe with Asa's family, I mutter a quiet, "Thank you."

Everyone turns to me with shock Written on their faces. Ella beams at me while Asher and Nadia have their jaws dropped.

Nadia asks, "You spoke?" I just nod, not feeling like talking anymore after their reaction. An uncomfortable silence falls upon us.

Asher is the one who breaks the silence, "I'm proud that you chose to speak. We hope you feel comfortable enough to do it more often."

I nod, glad that they aren't expecting me to keep speaking all the time.

We finish our breakfast and head back to our bedroom, planning to just relax for the day.

When we get in there, I notice that Asa seems tense. I write down on my notepad, "Are you okay?"

Asa nods, but still seems lost in When we get in there, I notice that Asa seems tense. I write down on my notepad, "Are you okay?"

Asa nods, but still seems lost in thought. He leads me to sit down on the bed and sits down as well.

He blurts out this question, which surprises me and makes me nervous, "Did you go to school?"

I write timidly, not proud of this fact, "I used to, they pulled me out when I didn't shift."

Asa nods, seemingly expecting the worst. He prepares me for his next sentence by grabbing my hand and squeezing it lightly.

"You have to go back to school."
