Chapter 7

CHAPTER SEVEN

Da-xia

Infront of me was a long and clear river, it was probably the river that travels from the forbidden hill down to the Tanxia. I looked at Wang lei when I realized that he purposely followed the deer so we can end up here.

We walk towards the river and without hesitating, I took a handful of water and drink it. I've never had water for two days so I feel so thirsty. Wang lei did the same and we both feel much better afterwards.

"The water tastes great." He said while he leaned his head on the rock.

"Yeah, I mean I feel much better, I didn't drink water for two days."

We decided to stop here and let the night pass besides the river flows straight from the forbidden hill. Our travel will be much easier now.

We ate a little bit of the cooked pig that we have and made our own bed out of leaves and logs.

Something is not right. I think someone is staring at me so I started to look around and tried to look behind trees. I heard noises behind the bushes but I waited until it stopped, expecting it to attack me. Wang lei was already asleep and noises around makes me are making me uncomfortable.

I woke up after sleeping a little bit. I saw Wang lei preparing to leave after having a bath on the River. He wasn't wearing anything on top and his wet pants just showed more of his bottoms. My eyes widened but I looked away before he could see me looking at me.

We ate before continueing our joirney towards the forbidden hill. I don't know why but the ambiance was a little different. The feeling of Someone was following and looking at me is still there so I decided to ask Wang lei.

"Do you feel anything suspicious around us?"

I suddenly asked but he pushed me to the tree while covering my mouth. I was startles at first because I didn't expect his move.

"Yes, now don't say a word." Looking at us behind me will only look liked he was kissing me. Our faces were so near and I can even feel his breathing. His eyes were straightly looking against mine amd his eyebrow forrowed.

We fell on the ground when he dodge a dagger. I look at it and it has flames on it. Fore nation?!

Did they knew about me and Wang lei surviving the attacks?

Wang lei stood up and loud sounds from underground reigns my ears. It feels like an earthquake was about to happen. The vibration was getting stronger, it made me loose my balance.

Wang lei was controlling the rocks. Small and big rocks travelled from under him up to the one who throws the dagger.

It was a woman. Was she part of the Shadow ninjas or Did she just survive the attack? I will not choose the latter because she wouldn't have to attack us if she's an apprentice.

I was right someone was spying us.

From my position, I can see that she's strong and can defend herself from Wang lei. Her blazing fire balls and daggers was flying in the air. But none of them had hit Wang lei.

I summoned my trident and commands the water from the river. Jia's trident can easily control the water. Any form of water.

I splashes water to her blazing weapons and loses its flame. It fell down as soon as the flame was knocked out.

She looked at me and aims a spear to my direction But I slowly crossed my hands while holding the trident amd without noticing, A water shield formed infront of me. A force from the shield was holding back the spear so I uncrossed my arms and the spear went directly back to her. From blazing spear, it transforms to a liquid spear.

She was startles so she didnt had ghe chance to dodge my attack so the spear hit her shoulder and due to the spear's force she was hooked onto it and they both hit a tree.

Vines started to crawl on her body which made her tied to the three. It has thorns that pierced on her skins. She screamed in pain and anger.

"Why were you here? Are you spying us?"

Wang lei said.

She didn't give an answer and chose to shut her mouth. She screamed in pain again as the thorns deepens on her skin.

"The thorns have poisons on it. Speak and I shall save you from death."

She was hard- headed. Maybe she was an apprentice of the Shadow warriors.

The thorns still deepens and I can feel she was about to loose her life. Protecting the kingdom that destroyed our kingdom? How shameless were this girl?

"I w-was sent by our l-leader." She said weakly.

" He wanted me to go to the forbidden hill to find the enchantress' daughter. To rebuild what was once a kingdom."

Wang lei's eyes met mine when she said that she was also sent by her leader. Maybe we have the same fate, Maybe it was really meant for us to meet because we all both have the same responsibility. To find the last enchantress, to train and to rebuild our kingdoms.

"We all have the same goals here, why would you even think to attack us?" I said.

She looked down as she started ro regain her strength. The thorns doesn't really have poisons. She was just scared to die this way because she hasn't done anything yet.

"I thought you were against the our kingdom."

My eyebrows furrowed and my eyes rolls.

" Your leader was the one to blame why all of this happened. He was selfish. He chose to to leave the other nations to save yours, but what happened?"

I said. Feeling angry after memories from the attack flashes on my mind. I still can't let fo of the past.

It still holding me from moving on..
