The Water Festival

Months later after the whole event transpired everything seemed to go back to what was seemingly normal, except that the three did not bother in visiting the warrior's den after class anymore. They stayed clear of the compound to get as far as way as possible from trouble. The three, Racquel, Orchid and Alek seemed to have gone back to their normal jolly behaviours and acted as if nothing had happened these past few days. The three talked it out after a good 2 weeks of giving each other the silent treatment.

Everyone had seemed to be more focused on the festive occasion that was about to commence. The yearly festival that was a tribute to the water goddess amongst healers was something everyone got excited about. It was a time to celebrate and be joyous.

The temple was packed with people, as they were preparing for the ceremony, decorations were being put up and the alters were being dressed with flowers.

"Guys, what are y'all wearing to for the night at the temple?" Racquel asked excitedly

"Uhmm, clothes." Racquel elbowed Alek for his sarcastic response.

"What about you Orchid?"

"Errr, a shirt and some pants most probably," he responds

"You two are just..." Racquel goes back to writing. The two boys looked at each other and gave each other a smile.

"So what are you wearing?" Alek asked Racquel. It was although Orchid and Alek knew the right question to get her to stop being pouty.

"A traditional suit, of course, it's my time to shine plus what else would you wear to a festival, a shirt and some pants?" Racquel comments, looking at Orchid. Orchid smiles at her realising the last part was meant for him.

"The water festival is where a lot of us gather to pray and give offerings to the goddess of water we have to look the part. She is said to protect us from demons and fend off their bad energy that could be passed on to us, what would she think if we didn't dress up. It's best to impress her on her day of worship." Racquel explains as though being asked to do so.

"That temple we're going to was built by our elders, it must be a bazillion years old." Alek interrupts Racquel

"Yeah the temple is pretty neat, the view of the sea from the temple is really pretty." Orchid adds

"It's not just pretty its die for honestly. Even members of the other seasons come to the temple to view the sight." Racquel replies as if offended by Orchid meagre description.

"Racquel stop overreacting!" Alek complains.

"It is floored with jade tilings and has huge beams made out of concrete. The temple is huge as it's one of the only three temples that were built at the time. Is it not just amazing to be able to witness such a historical monument." Racquel proceeds, ignoring Alek's comment.

"There's gonna be drunk people dancing in your historical monument in just a few days." Alek mocks Racquel earning him a glare.

"Guys, don't fight." Orchid tried persuading them softly.

"I think it's going to be real fun since we celebrate the last year since there was the flu spreading" Orchid tries to shift the topic

"At least, we get to enjoy ourselves this year!" Orchid said smiling. This in turn made both his friends smile.

"Let's enjoy the crap out of this" Alek shouts startling the students sitting not too far from him.

"Not too loud!" Racquel hissed

The next few days passed by in a flash, everyone gathered some earlier than others. The sky filled with lightened lanterns floating beautifully. Citizens wearing traditional costumes roam the streets making the atmosphere lively. The vibe was so joyous that no one had seemed to be in a foul mood. Orchid, Racquel and Alek arrived together fully cloth in matching outfits that Racquel had personally tailored.

"Dude are you okay?" Alek asks Orchid

"Why? Orchid are you okay? What happened?" Racquel followed

"No, it's nothing I just feel a bit off that's all, I am not sick or anything," he explains

"Why?" Alek and Racquel question in unison

"Something feels wrong, it might just be something in the air..." he tries to convince them hiding fear deep down due to this unknown ominous feeling.

Ending the book in 5 chapters and will have a sequel written, hopefully, the next few chapters keep you hooked for the upcoming book.
