A Secret

*Bell rings*

Racquel

"Hey, go get him, we need to get it out of him," she tells Alek as she notices the lecturer leaving class.

'Telling Alek about Jake seems like the right thing to do, at least he won't be in the dark anymore.' She decides on bringing it up with Orchid present so that he won't have a chance to lie about what happened. The look of determination fades away as she looks back only to notice an empty seat at the back of the class.

Alek and Racquel look at each other as if asking each other "Where is he?" with no words spoken. They launch from their seats and begin racing to the classroom door. They grab the steel handle and push it open, they find the hallway filled with students. They look for Orchid but even if he was there, they were just too many students to find him.

Racquel

"What happened to him?" she asks with an even more concerned look than before, "He has never been this down before..." she says looking at Alek. He gives her a worried look not knowing what to tell her.

"Alek, I need to tell you something about yesterday...I think Jake has to do something with this. "she looks at him as his look changes from concerned to confused. She exhales, contemplating whether this was the right thing to do? This might cause unnecessary trouble for Jake. He might not have anything to do with Orchid's sudden behavior but if he has a part in this then they need to know what happened, it's better than not knowing at all. Her friend group is made out of 3 people and they mean the world to her so even if one of them is not there everything starts to feel odd.

Alek

"What?" he asks not being able to get why his name popped up suddenly. His face changes from a look of confusion to a more aggressive angry one as he seems to have an idea of why she brought him up.

"How is he related to this? Did he tell you something? Did he threaten the both of you?" he asks consecutively to confirm his presumption and was about to ask more before he was abruptly interrupted by Racquel'.

Alek never liked Jake for reasons he won't admit but this had nothing to do with that he was more concerned for Orchid. He feels protective of all his friends, due to his poor luck in making them previously. It was his first time finding his click and he wouldn't want anything bad to happen to them.

Racquel

"Alek, calm down, getting mad won't solve anything." she says. At this point, it's not good to frame Jake for something he might not have done. Realizing this she tells suggests they find Orchid again and just get him to talk.

Alek

"We won't be able to find him, let's go to the warrior training ground and get Jake to talk." he says but before Racquel could respond he storms out of the classroom headed to the training ground.

Racquel starts to get flustered and even more annoyed at his hot-headedness but chases after him knowing well that if she didn't he would get beat up by a group of buff jocks. She tries to catch up but even for her, he seemed to be too fast. She found herself gasping for breath in the procss of trying to catch up with him.

Alek

'Did that jackass beat him up? Did he get a bruise on his arm? Why was he so sensitive today?' all these thoughts clouded his mind as he gradually started picking up his pace, he wanted to get those answers. As he arrives at the entrance he hides, he scouts to see if there was anyone guarding it. After a while, Racquel came to his side breathing heavily. She scouts down to take a break but just as she starts to lower her body, Alek pulls her along running into the grounds.

They were avoiding other warriors to avoid any confrontation that could happen if any one of them notices them, but this was more likely a precaution for Racquel. Racquel's family was well known amongst all the classes not only for their position in the government but also for her parent's love story.

They see Jake, walking out of the atrium and follow his suit. They approach him and as they get closer Alek's pace gets faster. He shoves Jake, but he didn't really stumble, it was as if his legs were glued to the ground.

Jake

*Jake looks back with a cold demeanor.*

"Who are you?" he asks, he recalls them being by the side of that guy from yesterday but doesn't acknowledge it.

Alek

"What did you do to Orchid? Did you hurt him?!?!" he shouts gathering glances from near passersby. He didn't give heed to any of the weird stares he was getting, he just wants answers.

Jake

"He lost that's what happened, nothing else..." he says calmly. He didn't think much of what happened to Orchid after the fight but judging from Alek's reaction he could picture.

Racquel

"Lost? Did you guys fight? Why? she asked flabbergasted with the idea of Orchid fighting with this guy of all people. He wasn't just a good fighter. Based on what his brother says he is one of the best here. Why would he fight with Orchid?

Jake

"A reason? There is no reason, a fight doesn't need a reason, he lost and I spared his life... I have got to say though it was the first time someone had begged me to spare their life, it was quite a scene. he smirked provoking Alek as he jolts towards him throwing a punch. His attempt was futile though as Jake stepped back easily and threw his own punch landing Alek an uppercut. He falls to the ground clenching his jaw as blood streaks out of his mouth.

Racquel

"Alek! You fucking jackass what is wrong with you?" she screams giving Jake a deadly stare. He goes to Alek checking his wound, she gets up and throws Jake a high kick. He gets a hold of her leg mid-air. She doesn't flinch. She maneuvers her way to get his head into a headlock, she tries to suffocate him but he throws her off with a single hand which seemed like it took no effort.

Jake

"I am not against fighting girls but princess stick to waving your hand in front of a crowd instead of this. You are going to get hurt." he walks away after saying this with his back turned towards the both of them.

Racquel gets up and helps Alek. He's still struggling with pain and as they walk out they see people sneering at them, witnessing the whole scene that just played. Racquel's second brother who is the head of training in the ground comes up to her with an angry look. His gaze changes to a more worried one once he notices the bruises on Alek and scratches on Racquel's elbows and knees. Everyone who was staring suddenly vanished as soon as they realized who they were glaring at. The daughter of the Captain, the head of the military of this country.
