His wavy dark hair was grown out and cut just at his chiseled jawline, framing the features of his full lips, strong nose, and clear jade green eyes. He seemed slightly younger compared to the prince in my memory, but it was him for sure.
But then, immediately, the scene of an older version of him having sex with Cecilia, soon followed by his death, attacked my mind, and my pulse quickened as my heart began to beat erratically.
“I…I…” I murmured.
In my mind, the sorrow and desperation in my memory competed with the happiness of seeing him alive. For a moment, I was so out of it that I forgot where I was and what I was supposed to do, let alone being able to come up with something logical to say.
He leveled his gorgeous green eyes on me. “You what? What is all of this fuss about?”
In order to think, I looked down to gather my wits. Right, I needed to get into the venue and he was my only hope.
