Purple Summers sipped her soup silently, said a hoarse "thank you" to Caitlin Carter, then lay back down and closed her eyes to rest.
She needed to recover quickly, strong and healthy; she couldn't afford to be a burden to Alexander Summers.
What if he climbed through her window in the middle of the night, asking her to flee with him to the ends of the Earth?
Gavin Graves said softly to her, "Purple, I'll come to see you again tomorrow."
Purple Summers opened her eyes, "Young Master Graves, thank you for today, but I'm really fine. You don't need to worry about me."
Gavin Graves smiled faintly, "Rest well," and then he left the hospital room.
Caitlin Carter watched the two exchange words, confusion apparent in her eyes.
