Chapter Sixteen

Rica's pov

I had informed my mother not to tell Whitney that I told her she was alive. I had watched the shocking expression on her face when she realized no one knew about her. That was to teach her that she had really messed up. I had watched her as she fainted after reading the letter. When she saw the girl who was in the coffin I'm sure any doubts she had were cleared. The girl looked exactly like me before I had a make over. Jonathan had taken me to the morgue to find people who their family had not claimed them. It was painful that a person would die and nobody ever claimed them. The girl who we had found was a rape victim. She had been bruised and beaten up beyond recognition. I had offered for them to clean her up and change her face to look like mine.

It made me realize that I would not be using her body anymore but I swore to give her a proper send off. I gave out orders for them to locate her family and anyone else who was involved with her in anyway and the one who killed and molested her. I wanted to make sure that she would rest in peace. I gave her a new identity as Rica Delion and she was to be laid in her grave decently. It turned out her family had disowned their own daughter and they kicked her out of the house for being gay. Now the price they had to pay was sending off their daughter to the almighty since the world had already closed it's doors on her. I watched as her family cried at the end of the hallway getting torn apart with grief as they regretted their decision. Her small sister who cried but could not stop had an asthma attack the poor girl was separated from her sister and now she was gone. After thinking so much about the girl I went back to the morgue and requested that any case of unidentified body that would not have a family I should be called.

I would donate money to that particular morgue to properly send off those who had no one for them. I didn't need money to be happy because I had my family I had Jonathan and my mother and just maybe if Whitney ever comes around I will also have her and everything I've wanted in my life would be complete. It had been three days after my fake burial and now I was in the cafeteria sitted with my brother eating our lunch peacefully. The last few days had been uneventful since Whitney had not been there and also nobody messed with my brother. But I was wrong I stared up to see the boy who had tried to take advantage of me at the park walking towards us. Jonathan shuffled on his side of the bench uncomfortably and I placed my hand on his and told him to relax. I watched as they sat beside us.Two sat at Jonathan's side and the leader sat beside me and one of his other minion on my other side. I am sure he could not recognize me from the two times we have met before so that is why his gaze kept lingering on me.

I ignored him as much as I could and focused on my lunch. "Hey who is she?" he asked Johnny the whole cafeteria was silent watching the scene unravel before them. "She i-s s my y y s sister,"he stammered. I wanted to react on how he was intimidating my brother but I decided against it. The boy smirked as he gave a signal to his minions as they held Jonathan I watched since they hadn't made any move to harm him so I watched with a boring expression . Little did I know I was their target this time. Before I could comprehend what was happening I was pinned on the table as their leader tried to kiss me. My breath came out in short gasps as reality hit me I was having a panic attack and my brother was in trouble. I tried counting but it seemed like it was not working. The leader let me go as he looked at me shocked and Jonathan did what I never expected he would do in his life.

He punched the guys who held him and kicked them. I had never seen this side of Jonathan but I liked it. I clutched my chest as my vision was beginning to be blurry. Then I had a pair of hands hold on to my shoulder and I had him say, "Relax I'm not going to hurt you just breathe and count with me 1 2 3 4..." by the time we had got to ten I had started breathing normarly. I stood up from my crouched position and looked at my surroundings. Jonathan had beaten three of the minions but the leader was still standing. "Lay a hand on my sister again and I will make sure you don't get to see the light of day, my sister is of bounds nobody should harm a single hair on her head. For your own good stay away from her!" he shouted. That was not something I got to see everyday.

I looked at the one who had helped me with my panic attack and I saw the ocean eyes that stared at me with amazement. It was Seb why was he looking at me like that. He came close to me and stood in front of me then he said, "Rica" silently. My eyes went wide then I controlled my expression. "I'm Avery Sanchez," I said. He smirked at me then he walked away. If anyone noticed our little exchange none of them said a word. Seb took my hand and guided me to our lockers to take a book for our next class. We walked there silently but when we got there he spinned me around and pulled me into a hug. I laid on the crook of his neck as I let the fear that had been in my heart out as tears freely trickled down my cheeks. He stiffened as he realized I was crying and he held me tighter this wasn't the time for me to cry there in front of alot of people. I wiped my tears and stepped away from him. Johnny stood there and looked at me there in his eyes worry written all over them. I gave him a weak smile as I beckoned him to take his books as we walked to the class.
